Is Kwanzaa Really a Holiday?

Kwanzaa. Just heard of it a year ago. Found it created the dashiki, kufi, and the boubou. Not that I'd heard of the latter two and cared about the former. So, is it a holiday?

Basically, an attempt to create an artificial event based on an artificial perception of reality. It'd be like attempting to institute a pan-European holiday, with all of the food French, all of the language a mishmash of Germanic and Slavic tongues, and celebrated solely by emigrants...

Kwanzaa is the lazy black-mans holiday. Seriously..... if you want to celebrate your heritage, do it a traditional way, not some way some dude made up in the 1960's.

As far as I know, there is absolutely no REAL reason to celebrate Kwanzaa aside from just to celebrate heritage, and if you were TRULY into that kind of thing, you shouldn't need some idiot holiday to care enough to do it.
