ITNES I - An Epoch of Change

andis, you know I hear you and have already dealt with both of the issues you had raised. ;)

IC:

From: Kwa
To: Nortugal

We accept your proposal.

From: Kwa Confederation
To: Sri Dukunnugeya

We had decided to extend an offer of defensive alliance to you as well.

@das: about colour changes.. I think Wagadou's colour and mine are disturbingly similiar.

to DIE:
We understand. But we ask that you also don't allow Solist warships through the pillars at least, or that would be a little unfair.

@das: about colour changes.. I think Wagadou's colour and mine are disturbingly similiar.

But not quite as bad, IMHO.

My project isn't listed as having started...and yes, I did have enough EP to start it.

To: Nortugal
From: Iceni

For your attack on the fleets of ourselves and our allies, we declare war on you.

to Iceni:
And what about Nordike attack upon your allies and yourself? he he... Well you already embargoed me anyway, not like it changed much, except for that that Now Nortugal is threatened by the weak Solist kingdoms. Sweet, if Nortugal truly have Solist citizens than it means we are now the strongest kingdom with Solists. Funny. Except maybe for DIE anyway if they got your religion to...

To the Cree Leadership
From the Kingdom of the Dawn

Lay down your arms now and ask to be forgiven, and you will be forgiven. You have made martyrs of our evangelizers, just as you did to Saint Brizhihi the Apostle, but still we will forgive for the Great Prophet Membertou told us to do so. May the Blessed Trinity grant you the wisdom to accept our kind offer, and the wisdom to accept faith in them as preached by Membertou. We want only good for your people, please don't make us send our rath down upon you. Amen.

To the Cree People
From the Kingdom of the Dawn Land

Your hatred begs the question, how have we harmed you? We gave you freedom from oppression, the right to chose your own leaders, and knowledge of the Good News, the Gospel. Did not Saint Brizhihi, the Apostle of your people, rise from the dead to spread the Gospel and the message of the Holy Trinity whom he met in the world beyond? And did he not then suffer a martyr's death at the hands of your leaders, even as he fought alongside you to defend your property, your lives, your children, your freedom, and all that the Cree people hold dear? Saint Brizhihi, Apostle of the Cree, taught that all may recieve forgivenace from the Blessed Mother, no matter their wrong. Seek forgivenace now, lay down your arms against your brethren, and you shall be forgiven. Eternally the Great Prophet, word of the Mother on Earth, the Great King, hand of the Mother on Earth, and the Council of Powers, the unity of the Trinity on Earth, pray for your well being, your continued growth, and your perpetuation of the message as preached by the Great Prophet Membertou and Saint Brizhihi, Apostle of Your People. Amen.

EDIT: Umm...Das? You still haven't recitified my complaint about my project having only advanced one turn when I invested an eco to speed it up an additional turn. Could you please fix it in the stats or at least tell me why you won't?

My project isn't listed as having started...and yes, I did have enough EP to start it.

An oversight, ofcourse, but technically it might be a bit difficult to do now that Caer Bechet isn't there anymore.

Consider it rectified, Israelite. The last effect will only become visible next turn, though.

You know what, I wont sign peace. Until all territory that is predominatly sindhuese is returned to Sindhu.

Thus Tieh China, Parahe and Khemeria need withdraw from mainlaind Indian territory. You're so called defense of the balance of power would dictate that you do this. If you did not your whole premise of war will be shown to be false, and this indeed to be nothing but a war of conquest.

If they dont we will only just fight til the end.

From: Algonquian Confederation
To: Kingdom of the Dawn Lands

It is with great sadness and horror that we hear of your actions against our cousins, the Cree. We cannot condone this bloodshed in the name of religion, we condemn it! Is it not your Saint Dekanahwida who has said to us, "It was never the intention of the Great Mother that Her children would take the lives of one another". Yet we see you taking the lives of our cousins in the name of the very faith that the Peacebringer has taught. Another thing he taught was:

Never surrender, that is not the Algonquian way; always stand up for the oppressed, that is the Algonquian way.

There is no question to us who is the oppressed in this situation. We request that you cease this senseless bloodshed against our cousins.

TO: Sri Dukunnegeya, The Khmer Empire, Parhae
FROM: The Tieh Empire of China

Due to the continued refusals of the Sindhu government towards any reasonable peace, the Tieh Empire of China has no qualms in continuing this war until such time that an unconditional surrender is extracted.

We are clearly shown, by Sindhu's refusal of any reasonable peace, the threat which this government faces to all of Asia. It will not relinquish the power which has allowed it to pursue its imperialistic and belligerent course of action these past years, and therefore it must be crushed. We are sure that the Sindhu government shall proceed to accuse us of tyranny and imperialism, and to pre-empt such a move, we hereby will end all communication with the Sindhu government unless it wishes to surrender unconditionally to coalition forces.

Never have we killed an innocent, only those who oppressed their people and martyred our apostles. Saint Brizhihi, Apostle to the Cree, was martyred by the Cree kings fighting alongside his tribal brothers for their rights. The only Cree to have felt the bite of our blades are those who used their power to oppress and to preven the spread of the Gospel. The Cree people were oppressed, and we stood up for them. Please, our brothers in language, speak not of what you do not know. We pray that the Blessed Trinity grant you wisdom and understanding, strength and endurance, salvation and eternal life. Amen.

To Tieh China, Parahe, Khemeria and Sri Dukkyenga.

We will bow to resonable demands to peace. We thus will offer the following, territorial changes. On this 1 economic level will be paid to Sindu in restitution for the piracy that began this war.

Any lands that would change hands as a result of this treaty is not to be harmed. Any Sindhuese people that wish to leave for Sindhu are not to be troubled.

We find that by allowing this treaty you allow for defensible frontiers for all and a long term balance instead of the draconian treaty that would be more in place in the Western lands.

Red lines are the proposed future borders. Colours match who gets what.

to Huanac:
Your controll over the past-Olmec lands in Olmeci is unright. We were the ones to bring down their empire, we should be the ones to gain such important lands. Surrender your Olmeci lands to us else.

(Olmeci - central America until panama. and it's Panama area that I talk about)

To: Nortugal
From: Face-of-the-Sun, Ruler of Huancac

We appreciate your important communication with us over the Olmec lands, or I guess, more to the point, what were the Olmec lands for they are now possessed by others. It appears, though, that what you believe about the demise of Olmecia is incorrect. A foreign power called "Carthage" made first contact with our neighbors to the north and the disease and weaponry of their invasion brought the Olmecs to their knees. At that point civil disorder and rebellion tore the land asunder from within as nations such as yourself claimed the bones.

Even today Olmecia is much divided, with the greater part of what you claim as your right, held by the people from far Asia. the Huancac, like Nortugal, stepped in to claim a piece of that ancient empire and by skillful maneuver took possession of the isthmus that you now want. If you are rightful heir to the Olmecs, then the gods will grant you all the lands of their old empire. When Nortugal has taken all those lands that lie to the north of our joint border that once bowed to Olmec lords, bring us such news and we will grant you lands of the isthmus so you may face the Carib Sea on the east and Ocean of the Sun on the west.

In the interim, as you conquer to our north, we will not interfere or disturb your wars, but would engage in trade and peaceful dialogue.

OOC: das, the ownership of NE South America is not clear to me at all, please go ahead and change Huancac's color and repost the map sooner rather than later. Thanks.

Order of the Blessed Cross

The Order of the Blessed Cross, founded by Saint M'Sartto of the Cross, is dedicated to Justice, Martyrdom, and Defense of the Weak. It is a militant order, taking additional vows to bear the cross in defense of the weak, in the upholding of justice, and in the search for a martyr's death. However, this does not replace the traditional vows of poverty, charity, obedience, and service to the poor. There is a final eighth vow of chastity (known as the "Monastic Vow") which, like the others, is punishable under death but which unlike the others may be rescinded by an abbot. In order to be rescinded the member must be incapable of regular duty in the field of battle and in search of a wife with whom to have children. Even though these members may have been released of the Monastic Vow, they must still live in the monastery (in a seperate section with their family, should they marry) and they must continue to uphold their other vows and duties.

Members of the Order are known as Brothers of the Blessed Cross, or more simply as Brothers of the Cross, or in context as simply Brothers. They are titled as "Brother ____ of the Blessed Cross" and are addressed as "Brother ____." One of the most obvious signs to distinguish Brothers from members of other monastic orders is the sword they always carry at their side, which is shaped as a Trinitarian Cross* (which gives greater meaning to the phrase "to bear the cross"). The choice to shape their swords as crosses is three-fold: 1) as a reminder of the Blessed Trinity, 2) as a reminder of the duty to die a martyr, as belief holds that the martyrdom of near all saints is accompanied in some way by a cross, and 3) as a reminder to spread the Gospel, for the Great Prophet Membertou commanded the apostles to carry the sign of the Blessed Cross always.

Unlike most other orders, they answer to the Great King, the Hand of the Trinity on Earth for their duty is enact the physical message of Membertou, not the spiritual or worded one (most orders answer to the Great Priest, the Word of the Trinity on Earth). The Council of Generals, which advises the Great King on military endeavors, takes its most prominent members from the abbots of the Order. Many of the Dawn Lands' soldiers are trained in Blessed Cross monasteries, which often function as barracks. The connection between the Order of the Blessed Cross and the regular military is so strong that commanders must take the Order's three additional vows, those that require bearing of the cross for the weak, upholding of justice, and a martyr's death. As such, commanders in the Wabanaki military are known as Lay Brothers of the Blessed Cross.

As a military unit, the Brothers of the Blessed Cross are trained to be highly disciplined and incredibly zealous. There are also meant to be very adept at "untraditional tactics," public relations, local recruiting, and leadership (particularly of untrained rebels/levies). They form an elite and loyal brotherhood of militant monks in search of martyrdom. In addition to their military duties, Brothers of the Blessed Cross are always in search of opportunities to evangelize. They are truly the most dedicated and self sacrificing servants of the Mother.
