JalNES I: Quick and Easy

Okay, I'm fine with that. I'm also using that as part of my orders (missionaries), so it can be answered then.

Yes I do remember Galloglach. That's when I started following this NES. In other NESs it says that demoting a UU is bad, with the Galloglach...

Yeah I remember the Galloglach. The main reason why I am scared to change UUs but my current one has proven effective thus far so not changing at the moment :)

Yes, it's certainly an NES to remember. Highly charged feelings on all sides, though with all the coalitions, I suspect the League may well be ending one way or another fairly soon... In that event, though, I'd probably rejoin elsewhere, or at least lurk.

Um, how are they still mad after 100 years? They'd be a bit more diplomatic after centuries of trading together while I've remained completely peaceful... I don't mind NPCs with personality, despite the fact that I've had more than my fair share of them in this NES, just as long as it makes sense.

I can understand a longstanding dislike, but not that kind of overzealous hatred. But whatever...

Actually we're hoping to fund our monastery system, although if you still harbour hatred for our people the restrictions can stand. Its your choice.

NK what is your ruler's name?

Well they do die multiple times during an update, given the still-absurdly long length (no offense to jal, just the problem with NESing in general, really), so I'd just have to make up a name. For the nonce it shall be Hiram.

I can't join this probably, right? If I can, w00t!!!!! :p
Great NES btw.
Feel free to join! If you want an established nation, you could take Noricum, Iberia, or Tartessos. If you want a rebellion, you could take one of the Syracusan colonies. If you want a nation with lots of potential, you could take Novgorod, one of the Japanese states, or Hainan...

@LittleBoots: This particular leader is not particulary diplomatic. And the Tartessans are growing increasingly xenophobic--they completely destroyed Fort Eire last turn.

We will pay you 2 EP to leave Iberia forever...

OOC: Oh, and should I switch to 50 year updates now, or wait until 1 AD?

Maybe I can make "Hiram" work.

Alex you do know I had perfect excuse to invade sicily. First Punic war ring a bell? Attacking me only led to current events. And such will attacking me again.

OOC: And that my dear moose, is the reason Carthage will no longer continue to exist after this war. The Third Punic War shall be the last! Hopefully

Jal, are the Tartessians turning xenophobic on Rome too or are we an "exception" :(

Egh. You'd think that all those soldiers returning home would boost the economy somewhat or have some effect...Oh well, nice update. Is that middle colony in France there?

Aaaah....the Galloglach.I think they should get "most annoying UU" award. Took three or four turns just to exterminate the blighters. And why, per se, are you seeking funds LB ;]. I'm keeping my eye on you- so nothing sneaky ! ;].

I love the Punic war, btw. Its nice to be one of the few at peace for once.

@Dark - I'm not lying to the Tartessians - I want to finish my project in one turn because I figure the monastery system has already been developing over 100 years, it should be finished in the next one hundred (or at least the first stage of it). Basically because I finally got size 2, I don't really need any more money. I could throw together a force of 18 000 troops from the multiplier, not counting the money I'm getting from Iberia, which would increase it to 24 000. Of course, I don't think I'd be selling catapults if I was going on the warpath, but, as always, act in character, its more fun that way.

I'm afraid the price for our removal from Iberia is more than you can hope to pay. For a mercantile nation, you suffer from a conspicuous lack of bargaining skill. We did offer to withdraw from the south of Iberia for 2 EP, even if you don't care to keep the port.

adherence - South East Asia will be less boring now. Will you sign a Trade Agreement?

Yes, we will consent to a trade agreement.

Concerning your offer of the Malaysian Peninsula, I must correct your diction.
We will sell you the right to settle on the WHOLE Malaysian Peninsula for 1 EC a turn for two turns.
You do not own that land, therefore you cannot sell any rights to its settlement. Who is to say that some new power, say from your west or on the peninsula, will not have interests in this area as well? You have some sort of trade relation with an entity that is within the demarcated area that you have proposed. Unless that entity belongs to Funan and you will cede it to Srivijaya, we will not agree to your deal. Please explain this to me.
What you could do, though, is assure that you will not settle in this new area I have proposed, that you never will have any interests there, and that I will have your word that there will be no conflict or disagreement stemming from an aggressive third party concerning the settlement of this area. I think, then, that would be an acceptable agreement. Your word that you will agree to the above points for 1 EP (I believe that we have no economic centres to speak of) per turn for two turns—a total of two EP. We could agree to include the rest of the land you indicated on the map in a future agreement, if it is possible. The presence of a third power in the lands questionable will have compromised this agreement.

Siblings, will you agree to a trade agreement between our nations? Trade would be most beneficial for everyone.

Friends, we have heard that you possess knowledge of a metal stronger than bronze. Will you share it with us? Please, state your price. Additionally, we would like to establish a trade agreement between our nations. Would this be acceptable to you? (OOC: Would it then become neccessary to create stats for Wu? If so, you could scrap the trade agreement if you don't want to create stats for Wu right now.)

For various reasons, quitting NES until the 1st week of December for the sake of other obligations.

You're an exception, so far...

Is that middle colony in France there?
Yes, it is. Look closely...

We agree.

@adherence: I'll create stats for China next turn. Then you can do that kind of diplo with them.

@Neverwonagame2: you sent an amendment to your orders, but I never got your actual orders. Could you send them?

Excellent update, Jal. Things are going as planned...
