Other Info:
Bexnia has always been, and always will. Since time immemorial, tribes and villages have existed throughout the area. Either congregating in the savanna or working the coasts, the people known now as Bexnians have littered the region originally descending from one tribe, the Miarana. The Miarana were a matriarch type people that inhabited the peninsula. In due time, the tribe split into two patriarch type tribes, the Bexna and the Pulia. The Bexnia occupied the eastern portion of the peninsula, with the Pulia in the mountain valley to the west.
The Pulia are a agricultural society. Working the semi-fertile valley between two dominant mountain ranges, they are able to conjure up a loose kingdom built by farmers. The state is led by a small council of men in the city of Hujim, set on the very tip of the bay jutting into the peninsula. Although they are a more peaceful people, there is still a rivalry between Pulia and Bexnia for control of Hujim. Pulia millitary is very simplistic, with the majority of their forces consisting of an ill-equipped farmer militia. Their experience is determined by the number and frequency of Bexnian raids on nearby villages and farms. Their government is almost a reflection of Bexnias.
Hujim, Pulias capitol, is determined by Miariniam to be the birthplace of all Miarana descendents. Because of this religious importance, combined with the strategic placement of the city for trade, Bexnia and Pulia have fought countless small wars for possession.
Bexnia is a oligarchy type state that is focused primarily on trade along the coast. Much of Bexnias commerce is generated by trade with the Pulia and the Hadun on the other side of the strait. The military of Bexnia is composed of simplistic warbands of soldiers that focus primarily on the pillaging and plundering of Pulia farms and villages. Although they are smart and agile foes in small skirmishes, their army is not particularly fit in terms of large, open battles. Bexnia government is centered around a council of nobles in the capitol city of Bek near the easternmost edge of the peninsula.
