Hector Causey checked his phone for the fourth time out of habit. The Exile was only thirty minutes late so far, which gave him an hour and half of cushion before beating his own record. The CEO of North Central Positronics, however, fought against the urge to simply call the Exile and tell him no, he would not be accepted for the job, but that left the savant open for another company to shoot for.

So, it was better the Exile was wasting Hector's time than wasting another company's.

The intercom on his desk buzzed. His Secretary said, "The prospect's here for the meeting. Should I buzz him in?"

"Yes, yes!" Hector answered.

The Exile, or "Joĉjo", strolled into the executive suite of one of Panama's most promising companies as if he already owned the place. Unfortunately, this wasn't too far off. The Exile got his name because he was an American before the war, ended up going into hiding for a while, and came out of nowhere in Panama with a few good ideas on how an operating system should work in the next generation of consumer electronics: consumer robotics.

Joĉjo probably doesn't need money now. Not when most government computers these days running ExodOS in boot. Every company in Panama threw cash offers at the man, but Hector knew what the Exile really wanted.

A floor to himself. Full of computers, engineers, and robots. Joĉjo, the Exiled Artist, didn't even sat down. He reached out with his hand and said, "Go ahead and consider me your Chief Technology Officer."

Amusingly, the last one died the other night in his sleep.

Overview of the Gethic Trooper Hierarchy

The Gethic divide their military hierarchy not just by rank by a scheme of warrior classes in themselves. These rank lowly militants, the humble "peacekeepers," the regular troopers, specialist tactical operatives, the fearless Vanguard and finally the feared Coreguard. Each rank in high oversees the others save for that the Vanguard are independent from the Coreguard's commandments, though the Vanguard are more numerous, the Coreguard reserved for the most strategic destination to the Gethic.



Each province claimed by the Gethic is supposed to be under protection of the militants, often including local militia assimilated into the Gethic war machine. Poor trained, poor equipped they are often used as backup cannon fodder when called upon or as military police forces.

The so called "peacekeeper" is a Gethic standard force designed to serve as the most basic infantry on the field (not including the defence purposed militant), often deployed also as sentries in occupied areas or in areas of great lawful distress.

Gethic troopers set in special combat armour, specially set for urban combat and in grand fields of battle. Their helmets have visors as additional protection.

The tactical operatives in the field are the name granted to troopers trusted in specialised operations. Guerilla training and other shady strategic oversight is granted to these steward warriors.

The Vanguard are the feared and fearless frontiers of the Gethic armies, standing as the first and last Gethic forces in the battle. Their armour and gas masks has allowed them to liberal bring nerve gas grenades and other chemical grenades into the battlefield. They often trusted with chain guns and other heavy weapons. They are granted authority over lower military officials but their captains tend to have equal terms to that of generals. Standard vanguard are trusted with the protection of military commanders (save the higher ones who get Coreguard), as well as serving as guards in many facilities and are called into emergency crisis in cities to serve as a pre-ultimate response, the ultimate being the reserve of the Coreguard.

The Coreguard are the official bodyguard of the Gethic's Director. Were the Vanguard serves as a aggressive role the Coreguard have a defensive role. They are suited in high techs suits and wear standard gas masks over the heavy armoured ones the Vanguard were. Though less armoured then their vanguard counterparts the Coreguard are trusted with more advance weapons and are often set in charge of protecting the most vital of bases, consecration camps that are entrusted with the detainment of political influential figures, critical research facilities and higher up political centres. Higher ranked military officers process these as guards.

There is talk that special forces may appear along the continued development of Gethic history but know then that what is covered are the original rankings, developed during Vinsin Vancore's divorce from the Company of the Dawn with the Vanguard and Coreguard especially made from the elite units of Dawn that deflected to the Director. What the future holds may depend on the effectiveness of what has been covered.

Worker's Revolt in Angola!

While South Africa had been fairly lucky in the war against the aliens, only suffering a few raids that were swiftly smashed by the People's Army, other nations had not faired so well. Angola had borne the brunt of many Alien assaults, and had eventually collapsed under the strain. In the anarchy that followed, a group of businessmen that would label themselves the Angolan Corporation came to power, using their massive wealth to influence opponents and buy the services of a large mercenary group calling themselves the Company of the Dusk (their connection to the similarly named mercenary group that played a major role in the founding of the Gethic Hand is of now unknown.) to deal with enemies that stood resolute against their corruption. They set up a tyrannical kleptocracy, forcing the people to work for wages that barely fed them while the leading members of the Corporation lived in lavish opulence. They shut down any who dared to try and protest this state of affairs, unleashing their greedy gang of soldiers-for-hire to kill protesters armed with nothing but posters and truth. As most always happens, though, these actions only served to drive resistance further underground and make the resolve of those who survived stronger. Out of the chaos amongst the people rose a militarized rebel group, the Angolan Revolutionary Front (ARF).

These brave heroes, led by the legendary Adrien Braga, had almost no equipment or military training. Despite that, they still declared a war upon the government, making a statement to the people that the capitalist tyrants would last no longer.

The 2,000 man army that this group had gathered to make their words action was swiftly smashed by a battalion of the Company a quarter their size, losing to the mercenaries' massively superior tactics, logistics, and equipment. The remnants of the ARF regrouped in the countryside, realizing that they could not fight the Company in a head on fight. Throughout the next 2 years, they led a guerrilla war throughout the wastelands of the nation, striking the Corporation wherever its limited troops weren't deployed, and falling away from concentrations of force. However, they made no real progress, as they simply weren't able to make anything stick. Hopeless, they almost surrendered -- until Adrien Braga was contacted by a AWP spy. The South African agent offered the military support of the People's Republic, if the insurgents would try and raise a major revolt amongst the people, and consent to the guidance of the People's Republic for the forseeable future. The ARF accepted. In 2 months, as massive protests wracked the nation, the South African People's Army crossed the border. Wherever they went, they routed the forces of the Company, bringing in the rule of the People's Law while cheered on by the people. Within two weeks, the People's Army had conquered the entirety of Angola, having any high-ranking members of the Angolan Corporation or the "Company of the Dusk" that were caught publicly executed.

The question going into the future is -- what exactly will the People's Republic do with all the land it's promised to help form into an independent nation of the people?

"Thank you kindly, Ms. Flemming," Long replied with a polite tipping of the Stetson he normally wore during his public appearances. "Let's hope the voters feel the same way come '24."

The secretary looked at her watch. "It's 9:04 PM, aren't you meeting with...?"

"Aw shucks, must've ran a bit long again," Long said with a chuckle. "Well, best not to keep him waitin' , then." Excusing himself from the media room, he retreated back to his office and strode in. The fact that the door was unlocked and the sight of a pair of jackboots on his desk told him his guest was already here.

"Sorry to keep you, Mr. Ford," Long said as he moved around to his desk. His guest didn't look too upset, though it was hard to tell how his guest felt from behind the chiseled features and the expensive-looking sunglasses.

"No trouble at all Mr. President. And call me Magnum."

"Yes, yes," Long said dismissively. "Well, Mr. Magnum, I assume y'all are familiar with the situation involving the Gethic Hand?"

"They're landing in California, they want Wyoming, most people are upset that the crazy dictator wants American soil, most people don't want to tangle with him," Mike Magnum recited, ticking off each point on the fingers of his right hand. "And the word around town is that you want some help dealing with them."

"Somethin' like that, yes," Long said, gesturing to a map he had prepared, marked with Texan claims and future settlements. "I would agree to the Gethic's demands on Wyoming if only to stall for time, but the issue is that there are many settlers who have already created homes for themselves there. I could evict them, uprootin' a large population of homeless colonists to please a foreign dictator, or I could hold the line and risk having Texan citizens slaughtered when the Gethic do arrive. Neither choice is advisable..."

"And the homeless and the dead don't make strong supporters," Magnum commented, lowering his shades slightly.

"Well, that there's obvious," Long said with the hint of a nervous chuckle. "The point bein' , I think that the latter option is more agreeable if we had some...insurance."

"Oh, so you want me to go beat up Vancore and take his lunch money?"

"No, nothin' like that," Long said quickly. "Your role would be more...preventative. After all, you're quite popular around these parts. The re-release of Mike Magnum 6 is selling like hotcakes..."

"Ah, the one with the 'Gangsta Commies'. Classic."

"...and it would be a great morale booster if the people in Wyoming saw y'all flyin' around and doing yer usual super heroics, it would certainly make them feel a bit safer, and it would make those Gethic types think twice before tryin' to attack us."

Mike Magnum paused in thought.

"Plus I can make sure the media knows where y'all are workin' out of," Long added.

"I'm in."

"Glad we could reach an agreement, son," President Long said, giving his trademark smile.

Today the great Vinsin Vancore, defender of justice, order and peace stands with the great announcement that the great aquiration of California into Gethic terrority begins! Soon the Californian people will become citizens of the Gethic Hand, the civilians knowing peace and order while those who will join the armies of our great dominion will know the taste of giving out… JUSTICE! We are the most just power on this planet, the legacy of those who fought against the Other and who know must deal with a threat greater than the Other: CHAOS! Chaos, the cancer which has plagued humanity since our infancy, must be eradicated before it leads us to our doomsday! This is however not a war of booms and bangs but of ideas. We must show the world the true power of order, then the world will follow the path to peace and from that will justice be secured.

I am pleased to declare that the sovereign nation of Cascadia has agreed to respect the Gethic dominion in a land east of the Pacific; the Americas. California will be but a stepping stone, for others are to join the eternal hegemony as we strive to make Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado and (last but far from least) Wyoming all part of the most peaceful, orderly project the world will ever see: the Gethic Hand. However there are those who in ill desire wish to wage war against peace and order in the name of chaos and enslavement; President Long of Texas has dictated plans to not respect our plans, especially in regards to Wyoming despite that state being on the doorstep of Cascadia, thus showing that Texas has no respect for the sovereign authority of Cascadia. I am a man of peace and love; as such I cannot bow to their demands for us to abandon Wyoming to anarchy. There is a word for those who strive to hinder humanity by serving chaos: TRAITORS! Texas is leaded and governed by traitors to humanity! If this accusations is wanted to be proven false by Texas then it should medially lay off their greedy claims on lands that Cascadia stated is indeed belonging to the Director of the Gethic Hand!

Now then I am a man of mercy and hence I will extend to Cascadia thanks, along with an offer in light of Texan aggression towards the peaceful purpose of the Gethic Hand: we ask that Cascadia consider a defensive protocol in case Texas does not only threaten to seek out Wyoming but to use that as a position to invade Cascadia, for the Texans fancy themselves the successors to the United States which is a threat to Cascadian sovereignty. If war breaks out we will note the potential Cascadia has to benefit from Gethic weapon technologies and the removal of a “United States successor” will aid the independence of Cascadia, which will be protected by the rightly might of the Gethic. We protect your independence from just Texas, for the post-Other world is one most ugly indeed I confess. The light of the Gethic will shine the monsters of darkness away!

To Texas I will again note I am a man of mercy; surrender your illegal claimant to rightful Gethic lands, including Wyoming, and we will in turn see each other as avenues in other areas; trade, research, defensive protocols. Failure to respect your superiors and… let’s just say the rebuilding of Texas is going to be an expensive venture after our anti-terrorist operations against those who threaten the peace. You may have Mike Magnum as your boot-lick but I have my armies, my Vanguard, my Coreguard… my Moon Dagger! I will not bow because you have a metahuman as your meat shield! Why is this meta so grand that he bows to the whim of a weakling like President Long? Only Vancore can stand above the so called “supers,” for the Übermensch is the shepherd of humanity!

Do not think you can scare us with the so called “supers,” for to quote the legendary Moon Dagger “even the gods must die.” Our vanguard will be the first and last sights of many Texans deployed against the justice of the Gethic, should Texas continue her most unwise aggression towards the agents of order and peace. Have your “hero” perform his magic tricks; can he resist the sharpness of the shadows? Can he truly protect the lives of those in Wyoming from the dangers of chaos? Could he actually overcome the might of the Vanguard and the effectiveness of the Coreguard? Can he best the legacies of Vinsin Vancore? Only the Gethic can bring true peace and order to the state of Wyoming; we pray that the order and peace loving Cascadian will stand beside us in our defence of Wyoming soil from a monster that wants to engulf it in the name of “America,” the same notion of enslavement that Wyoming has “enjoyed” for too long. Even gods like the former United States must die but the legacy of Vancore will be eternal! Texas should avoid being a footnote in the great histories of the glory of Director Vinsin Vancore and the Gethic Hand that he fathers!

No meta will bring fear to I and my children, for my children are men and women of order and peace! I hence again speak reason to President Long of Texas: though I called you weakling it must be noted that even Vinsin Vancore can be wrong at times. To prove your strength you should not condemn your peoples to a war with the Gethic, for it would be you who will play aggressor to the Hand! I hence remind you of the trade potentials with the Gethic, of the ways our knowledge can help expand the lives of your constituents. I am a man of mercy and peace; do not force my iron hand for I do not strive the destruction of Texas. It is the one who makes war against the Gethic that would bring death to Texas; I do not wish to end your independent but I am a man who will defend my peoples to the last inch of blood. I again ask: would you kindly keep your hands off of American land that is set to be under the peaceful eye of the Gethic? It is Cascadia, not Texas, who should be talking to us about Wyoming anyway; they border it.

I will defend peace and order for the sake of justice. The world must respect my actions should I be forced by the agents of evil to defend my children. The herds of war will not succeed against the warriors of harmony, for I am a warrior of harmony. As Director of the Gethic Hand I hence order that upon the annexation of California that we begin means to prepare for any fighting between us and the agents of chaos. I prey Texas does the right thing and make our preparations simply paranoia by not threatening to lay illegal claims on the lands of the Gethic Hand, lands that the likes of Cascadia have permitted to be Gethic. Wyoming does not even border Texas; hence we would advise for the continued existence of those likely to be conscripted into a Texan invasion force that Texas not does prove itself a rouge state and instead respect the servants of harmony.

I will not rest till peace and order are known throughout; chaos... will fall. May we not know war over Wyoming, for the sake of the civilians of the Americas, for it would be the mark of thee to stands against harmony to be a threat to civilian live, while we would stand in their protection.

Ilias Psinakis elected Prime Minister

The 25th General Conference of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia in Skopje also decided to elect a Prime Minister to act as head of government. Until now, Premier Stjepan Filipović was acting both as head of state and as head of government, but now his role will be limited to that of head of state. Prime Minister of the United People's Republics of Yugoslavia is Ilias Psinakis, the only gay head of government in all of the world. Ilias Psinakis had worked in the educational propaganda department of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia before becoming Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister immediately announced that Yugoslavia belongs to Europe and will thus join the European Union while at the same time stating that the political and economic independence of Yugoslavia shall not be compromised. He also said that he will work hard so Yugoslavia can remain the worker's paradise it is today.

Macedonian Premier meets with Bulgarian Premier

The Premier of Yugoslav People's Republic of Macedonia, Alexander Gruevski, met with the Premier of Yugoslav People's Republic of Bulgaria, Boris Plevneliev, in Skopje, just after the end of the 25th General Conference of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia. The two men talked on a variety of issues, such as the sending of Macedonian advisers to help organize the public sector and the army in Bulgaria (as Bulgaria became part of Yugoslavia only recently), since the Macedonians are closer linguistically and culturally to Bulgarians.

They also met Prime Minister Ilias Psinakis and congratulated him and told him of their hopes for a strong and united Yugoslavia. The meeting ended with an agreement for 250 Macedonian officers to come in Bulgaria and help in the organization of the Bulgarian divisions of the Yugoslav Army.

In Belgrade, a meeting was held between Premier Stjepan Filipović and Commander of the Yugoslav Army Puniša Račić. The two men talked about the need to organize and integrate Bulgarian and Slovenian divisions in the Yugoslav army, as well as conscript Greeks in the Peloponnese. They also gave their blessings to the move of Macedonian Premier Alexander Gruevski to send Macedonian officers in Bulgaria.

Puniša Račić will go by himself in Slovenian to organize Slovenian divisions in the Yugoslav Army while Premier Stjepan Filipović shall meet Prime Minister Ilias Psinakis in Sarajevo.

after WWII, turkey was in the communist block. the Greeks were part of the allied block. some things happens, some words were said, and there was a greek invasion of turkey, with heavy allied, and for kicks, german support. they were successful,. and Greece gained control of all thrace, and parts of Western Anatolia, and the pontic coast. basically the megali idea kinda thing. then the aliens came in, and during the war, greece proper suffered badly, forcing most greeks there to flee to Constantinople or surrounding areas, which survived the war largely intact, and later on, the stragglers fled from the yugoslav communists.

King Mohammed "Alright, but what about Libya?"

President Fouad: "My king, our surprise invasion when the others attacked allowed us to take control of a majority of their population, however their government was able to escape to Cyrenaica and because we didn't want our forces spread too thin we were forced to retreat."

King Mohammed: "General, tactical analysis."

General Bouchaib: "These years have allowed the Gaddafi regime to rebuild and regroup. However, an anti Gaddafi group rose up and pushed his forces south into the Cyrenaica desert. We may be facing a three way war for the region."

President Fouad: "If I may give my two cents, there is a possibility that we could recruit these rebels to our cause, the real question is if they are nationalists, freedom fighters, or terrorists."

General Bouchaib: "Um, it's a little bit of each, but there is a chance that we could recruit them if we convince them that we serve a similar purpose to them."

King Mohammed: "Alright, we will send a peaceful envoy to their territory in Cyrenaica, we will attempt to convince them to join Maghrebi forces through our successes and the self governance in our federation, that should convince them."

President Fouad: "And if it doesn't?"

King Mohammed: "We proceed with the original plan and we treat and say that any armed opposition as a threat to our forces lives and the freedom of the Libyan people."

General Bouchaib: "I will inform our men on the change of plans immediately."

King Mohammed: "What is the situation in the southern provinces?"

General Bouchaib: "Ever since we moved our forces out of the southern provinces in order better defend what we currently control, the Polisario Front swooped in across the border and effectively broke the cease fire, the "SADR" effectively controls the entirety of the land both the uninhabited and inhabited regions."

King Mohammed: "Tactical analysis?"

General Bouchaib: "Despite our focus on other fronts our forces could easily crush the Front's. We have superior manpower, superior equipment, and because they don't have the resources for economic development, we have the support of the people. I suggest we invade immediately before they gain international backing."

King Mohammed: "Do that then. Finally, what is the situation of our neighbors?"

President Fouad: "Our major neighbors are, in order of least threatening to most are, the gold coast are no real threat to us, they are to far away and will , Egypt, and Italy. The gold coast are be unable to contest land with us. Egypt on the other hand could easily attempt to move into Libya, but if they were smart they will stay out. Finally Italy is a wild card, they are our main rival for Mediterranean dominance, being fairly equal in strength to us, however they seem more content to focus on Europe than the Mediterranean, but their holdings and expansion in Iberia is concerning despite their promise of staying out of al-Andalus, however i doubt they would try to take it from us, so i would advise for our men to take control of the oil fields in Algeria first."

King Mohammed: "You make an excellent point, however, we must establish our presence on Iberia. The people of andalucia may speak Spanish now, but their culture, traditions and history are stemmed from ours. In addition to this their economy will provide a great boost to ours, not as great as the oil, but its economy of tourism and farming will provide both income as well as morale and food boosts for our expanding nation. Finally, the control of the straits will be a massive boon to our nation.”

General Bouchaib: “My King, I see your point, but the oil would provide a much better boon sooner and will allow our nation to make or sell fuel which will give the Federation plenty of money to expand into Iberia later.”

King Mohammed: “Every time there is a berber empire it always expands into Iberia, Carthage, The Moors, The Almoravid and Almohad dynasties. This may be our first and only chance to get our chance to move into Iberia. Finally control of the Straits is imperative, we WILL move into Iberia this turn, and Andalusia will become a state of the Maghreb Union.”

General Bouchaib: “Yes my King, I will inform the men and begin to integrate Andalusia.”

King Mohammed: “You are all dismissed.”
