? You marry off a Prince for an economic stimulus?

If they married a princess to a prince or king whose country had a strong economy, they could get bailed out or something. I was only half-joking, though, since marriages like that haven't been important for hundreds of years.

Considering how he legitimized the Reign of the Colonels, I'd put him in the same category of cowardly royals as Victor Emmanuel III, who surrendered Italy to Mussolini. He seems more interested in looking out for his personal welfare than the nation.

He apparently attempted to launch a half-assed counter-coup after that.

Does Greece still have the monarchy in any way legally? If not, then they are not princes and kings, they're just average joes pretending to be something they are not.

They do get invited to many of the parties though, but that's perhaps because they are related to most of Europe's other royalty.

If by "average Joes", you mean well-connected, wealthy European citizens of aristocratic blood, then yes. Constantine is still likely recognised as former King of the Hellenes outside of Greece, just like Archduke Otto von Habsburg-Lothringen was still referred to as such, except in Austria, Hungary etc.

He is also a Prince of Denmark in his own right.
