American thread, sorry guys, I'll include other for you all not lucky enough to live in the U.S. :p

I was reading an article today that NBC doesn't like Jay Leno badmouthing their network on his show (even though this is common since back in the Johnny Carson days), and I was wondering if anyone really cares for the Tonight Show anymore. I was actually a Jay Leno fan in the early 2000's, but even I can admit his show is stale. I'm more of a Conan O'Brien fan now. Although I don't actually own a TV, and can only watch his clips when they are played on CNN (yes I realize CNN is more entertainment than news now days, but whatever).

So the question is which late night talk show do you prefer? I'm only allowing one poll answer, so pick the one you prefer and would watch if it was the only one you could watch. I'm including ones from different time periods. I'm not including the Daily Show since it's on early time slots.

The Daily Show/Colbert Report.

I don't care what the OP says, they're late enough for me.

Conando!

Though I'm also fond of Kimmel's show.

The Daily Show/Colbert Report.
This, but I'm usually in bed long before any of these shows or the one's disgustipated listed is on. I'm out around 9pm most nights. :/

I think Conan is the least funny of all the late night people. I don't get nor do I like his humor.

Please don't flame me. I so ronrey

I'm not including the Daily Show since it's on early time slots.

I voted 'other' since you look down on the Daily show.

I used to watch Craig Ferguson, back when he didn't wear a tie and didn't spend most of his time talking to some skull-robot with a staticky voice.

I also used to watch Letterman, back when I was young and didn't go to bed at nine. I especially like the ventriloquist weeks he did.

Other: Daily Show/Colbert Report

I don't watch talk shows. They're really boring.

Stewart and Colbert.

Conan is third.

Ferguson is good, but I watch him even less than Conan.

Late Night With The Civilization Fanatics Forum Off-Topic Gang

(I no longer watch TV talk shows, but way back, I preferred Jay Leno/Johnny Carson)

Letterman is the only one that hasn't sucked since Carson retired. Dave really should have gotten that job.

Ferguson has just the right sense of humor for 1:00 AM. And I dig his patriotism. And his gay robot skeleton. His monologues and bits tend to be funnier than the interviews though, but there are exceptions. And his Desmond Tutu interview was concentrated awesomeness.

Conan, then Leno. I only watch the monologues and the comedy skits. Sometimes, I watch just the monologue if the comedy skit is one of the asinine ones I hate ("jaywalking", anything involving ross mathews, howie mandel, audience participation, or pranking unsuspecting people on the street, for Leno (except photo booth, I love that one); and anything involving deione cole or audience participation for Conan).

I only watch an interview if they're interviewing a hot chick AND she's sporting nice cleavage AND big boobs (or has juicy celebrity gossip).

I think Conan is the least funny of all the late night people. I don't get nor do I like his humor.
Die, heretic! :ninja: Conan is my all-time favorite!

Craig Ferguson was my favorite before I went to college. Note that I didn't have many alternatives to broadcast TV back then, as my family never wasted any money on cable/satellite TV and back then we only had dial-up internet.

When I went to college I had cable and very fast internet. I started watching The Daily Show and the Colbert Report instead.

I've watched Ferguson occasionally since college, but not often. It is not as good as it was before the robot skeleton was introduced. We have broadband internet now, so I mostly watch TV shows online now anyway.

Stewart and Colbert. And what do you mean they're on early slots? They're on at 11:00 and 11:30.

When I watched them in college, they came on at 7 and 7:30 -- reruns, anyway, with the new stuff on at 10 and 10:30.

Late night shows like Letterman, Conan and Leno leave me very very confused.

You see, when I watch moronic American day time stuff a la Dr Phil, Springer etc, I get it. It's just dumb Americans being dumb and good luck to 'em. I don't fall for the whole "American's are idiots, look at their TV". I've met idiots from all over the globe and I'm sure many of you guys cringe at the aforementioned TV shows.

But the late night stuff. That's not considered unfunny and lowbrow is it? I get the impression that they are generally considered to be classy and hilarious and it's just a matter of personal preference whether you are a Conan or a Leno guy. But they aren't hilarious?? They are lame. I often sit in stunned silence thinking "Why are you all whooping going berserk"?.

Please tell me I'm wrong.
