Let's expel Poland from the EU!

And anyway, is there a mechanism to expel a country? Or once you're in, you get a lifetime membership (for business and coach classes)?

One of the things I liked about the flawed constitution, that the French
rejected, was that there was a specific provision for withdrawal.

Would have been a nice idea. But I don´t think such a mechanism is needed anyway. If a country really wants to leave, what should the others do then? They just would have to accept it, I think.

Consider world history:

US constitution - silent - civil war

USSR constitution - specified right - peaceful separation

Yugoslav constitution -specified right - civil war

China - no mutually agreed constitution - standoff re Taiwan

Roman Empire - original constitution silent - but split amicably agreed

@TheLastOne36 , what does the EU have to do with the UEFA European Football Championship? The teams of Israel and Kazakhstan also play and technically could host the games and there is really no way they will EVER going to join the EU :p

Anyway, shame on Poland for hijacking the system and the system needs to change so it cant be hijacked by rogue states ;)

For the benefit of the USA and other former colonials,
the European Union is NOT responsible for UEFA, EuroTrash,
EuroVision, the Moon Europa or the European Song Contest.

Do you think that, if the UK leaves the EU, for example, the others would declare war ( and with what army anyway - and I don´t believe any nation would contribute troops for such actions) ? I don´t think this would be very likely. And the EU is still mainly a "trade federation", it just cannot be interested in such behaviour, I think.

If you didn't know, most of the money that is supporting polish soccer comes from the EU. The thing is, with all this modernizing in poland, stuff like football is often left out. Besides it was just an example.

Blimey. I didn't know that. Why can't the Poles import Russian billionnaires like what we do. Anway I'd limit EU money to Poland to...er.. pole vaulting.

Answer: Becuase all the Russian Billionaires are already supporting the construction of football stadiums in Ukraine for 2012.

You are skipping over a whole lot of failed rebellions in these nations histories.

My point is that Poland, (or more specifically the current Polish leadership) instead of being Irrational and generally obstructionist, should be happy that nations such as Germany are willing to contribute Billions to help Modernize Poland.

I 100% Agree. Poland has an incredible oppurtunity, and the government kinda seems like there wasting it.

Erm... Actually, although the US Constitution is silent on separation, from Framer's quotes, its obvious they agreed states SHOULD have the right of separation, since they joined the Union, they should be able to come out. Also, the Bill of Rights states ANYTHING NOT EXPLICITLY LEFT FOR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BELONGS TO THE STATE GOVERNMENT, which means that states should be able to secede.

Off topic: Just going on a what if, but what if every state left the union? it would be pretty interesting to see what different type of culture would flourish in the individual states. /offtopic

Why more important?
On world stage, none of these two countries looks dominant over another.
It's not like USA vs. San Marino or such.

No-one was ever upset that they lost at "soccer".

The only people who lose at "soccer" knew they were going to lose anyway.

Well a match like Portugal - Poland would have an unclear outcome.

it's like Italy - France, you'll never quite know what the outcome will be.
