Limbaugh thinks Americans are confused by homophones

There's nothing really to be confused about. The guy is a jackass that found out that people will pay him a lot of money to take his jackassery and rabid anti-Americanism to ever higher levels. And then he started believing his own hype.

A new publicity still from the movie has apparently been released:

Spoiler :

This proves Obama's time traveling theory! On his way to bribe the Hawaiian government for a birth certificate, he stopped in 1993 to convince DC comics to name an evil villain a homophone of Bain all in the evil effort to give American's lower cost healthcare! BRILLIANT!

Is Limbaugh an idiot?

Much, much worse than an idiot.

Yep. A person of, probably, average intelligence who saw a chance to get rich and famous by spewing hateful garbage and took advantage of the opportunity.

I really doubt he believes the vast majority of what he says, unless it is because he has repeated it so often and vehemently that he has convinced himself.

[ANTI-AMERICANISM]
I agree with Rush Limbaugh.
Never overestimate the people who reelected George W. Bush.
[/ANTI-AMERICANISM]

I really get tired of reminding people of this, but BUSH WAS NOT ELECTED IN 2000. He only won an election in 2004. The earlier election was decided by the Supreme Court, not the electorate.

This is important to remember. This is why stuff matters. The Supreme Court decided that election and that candidate started an unprovoked war that resulted in Hundred Of Thousands of unnecessary deaths.

Don't assume Rush is stupid. That's the worst mistake liberals can make. He's a sly piggy alright.

Rush Limbaugh is not a stupid person. He's manipulative. He's knowledgeable. He's good at what he does. He was talking about Fast and Furious long before other people. He also says a lot of things I think are very wrong.

Of course what peter grimes said in post #47 is not much different than the out there things that Rush Limbaugh says.

I find it hilarious that there is a incredibly conservative message in the movie yet Limbaugh would complain about it.

How is this comparable to the 'out there things' that Limbaugh says? Are you disputing what I said, or are you claiming that many of his 'out there things' are just as true as what I said?

Rush Limbaugh is not a stupid person.

The whole "one half of my brain tied behind my back just to make it fair" schtick of Limbaugh's isn't just a comedy bit. He affects an level of intelligence comparably to the hoi polloi as a means to develop a rapport with his audience.

Your use of the word "elected" could be quibbled with. But you haven't lied, so I suspect his comparison isn't supposed to include Rush's outright lies. One may as well compare your shared opinion that ice cream is yummy.

I'm still trying to figure out WTH a homophone is.

Homo = same and phonos = sound, so you conjugate them to form a word meaning words that sound similar or are spelt similar, but mean something different.

Your use of the word "elected" could be quibbled with. But you haven't lied, so I suspect his comparison isn't supposed to include Rush's outright lies. One may as well compare your shared opinion that ice cream is yummy.

Nah if I remember correctly if Obama said Ice cream is yummy Rush would declare that all ice cream is disgusting.

Then again if Bush made an announcement about ice cream being yummy Jesse Jackson would claim it was racist because vanilla ice cream is more popular than chocolate.

I was thinking more about the things where Rush takes things that are true but twists them to a crazy position. Just like what peter said could be argued as true but is a twisted way of looking at it.

OK. he was only elected in 2004. Does this make it any better ? It doesn't change the fact that he got a second term after his first one.
It also doesn't change my point: My internet persona that agrees the most with Rush and other right-wingers is also rabidly anti-american.

What a great contradiction. The man is a bigoted idiot. It is amazing that anybody pays attention to him for any reason.

If Obama weren't black he'd be a tour guide in Honolulu or he'd be teaching Saul Alinsky constitutional law or lecturing on it in Chicago." --Rush Limbaugh, July 6, 2010

While Darrell Issa was on Fox stating there was no White House cover up, Rick Perry was on CBS calling Obama, ‘Nixon.’ The GOP has truly gone from Fast and Furious to Slow and Stupid.

Here is Rep. Darrell Issa on Fox News Sunday saying there was no White House cover up:

Riiiggghhhht... :coffee:

Rush's extreme lies are equal to the extreme non-lie that Bush was appointed by the Supreme Court in the 2000 election. Whatever :rotfl:

Bush won because of our backwards electoral college, not the supreme court.

And Rush is still an idiot.

Rush's extreme lies are equal to the extreme non-lie that Bush was appointed by the Supreme Court in the 2000 election. Whatever :rotfl:
I don't see how you can say Bush was "appointed by the [US?] Supreme Court" when, by the terms of the case, if the recount had gone ahead Bush would've won Florida anyway. The victory was a matter of Electoral College dickery and messed-up Florida election procedures (because a different kind of recount, not demanded by the Gore campaign, probably would've found Gore to be the winner), not Supreme Court politics.

Is my memory wrong, then? I thought the Supreme Court decision essentially stopped the recounts, thus awarding Florida to Bush, thus the election.
