Every election cycle we Americans are told that the fate of the candidates lies in the hands of undecided voters. I don't know who these people are. I don't think I've ever talked with anyone who was undecided after, say, mid-October.

Even if we accept the existence of these mythical beings, we need to acknowledge that the must either be total hermits or as ornery as mules to remain undecided. It is an inescapable morass of media, and yet we are repeatedly told that there are people who have not made up their minds. Who are these people? How can we put the fate of the American government, indeed the fate of the free world, in the hands of people who have basically refused to make a choice?
