LINES-World of Magic

My house is in a mess,we're installing a new kitchen and everything so I would like for the update to be Saturday or later.

I would like an early update beacuse too much procrastinating and delay is going on here. (Gladinia's NES died, Rnes has been repeatedly delayed, please make this one early.)

Go out,get wasted.Time will pass.

Iggy do you have an email we can send orders too...makes sending maps easier.

Disenfrancised, remember to put the deal we made into your orders. ;)

Oh man, this is going to be a confusing update. Too much interaction between the nations :p.

And I don't use Email.

Addition to orders:

Expand around the barbarians, and ready the army! Sudafrika will claim back what is rightfully his/hers!!! We will purge these heathen barbarians from our land and offer them up to the flames! The Flames will not need to go hungry again for many many years! And we will take slaves, and we will reap goodwill, that our magickers might have great prowess though the ages!

And so, The nation of Sudafrika began it's great comeback into the world. Where it once had been a dormant nation, almost overtaken by barbarians, now it eould rise up and conquer the world, in the glory of the flames!!!

All glory to the Flames.

"And your sure your men can do this?" Kanithoor asked, raising his voice as the sounds of hammers on wood filled the air.

"Goodman Kanithoor, my yard has contracts from the goverment itself we are so trusted! We'll have your galley disassembled in a day and rebuilt on the otherside in mere three!" loudly replied Setoon, the yard owner, An enormous man, he looked as if he could pull the galley appart on his own. He looked off for a heartbeat following this proclamation, weighing something in his mind.

"Now, my turn to demand assurances from you! There will be sufficent board and room for my men, and they will be well fed! I have not coin enough for them to troop back to the capital or Ka-Commoriom whenever they need meal or sleep!"

"Do not worry Setoon, I have a warm barracks by the dock and have hired a local fisherman to bring us food daily"

"Excellent, Now I have your work to get about on, so come back here at dawn tomorrow and we shall proceed to Garn-Tyrom" (OTL Lake Winnipeg=Lake Tyrom)

"Yes, Garn-Tyrom is some hours behind Ka-Commoriom so we will have some extra light in the evening"

As the merchant walked off Setoon noticed a slight hunch to his shoulders - he was worried. Setoon smilied to himself, there was some way to work extra coin out of that tomorrow...

"You're actually doing it!? but your uncles map is over fifty years old! the villages might have moved, and the rivers dried!"

"So you say, wife of mine, but it is my decision to make; I have put aside money from the shop to support you and the children if anything should happen, and I've not touched a drop of your dowry. And Kaniooth has promised to take you into his household if I should be lost."

"Thats another thing - he is ten years your younger, why cannot he go whilst you maintain the shop?"

"Can't you see...can't you see that I need this? We will speak no more on the matter"

______________________________________________

The landscape seen through the portal was still dark, it would be some hours before the turning world would bring it into the light. Kanithoor paid the fee for the carts with great fuss over its price whilst inwardly be shocked over the cheapness.

"Since when as the Garn-Tyrom portal been so cheap?" He whispered to his brother who had come to see them off.

"The Hierarchy recently used it for...something. The section was closed off for more than a day, they expanded the portals capasicity and enormously charged it up. Rumour is they won't be coming back this way so the operater priest is selling off the spare bandwidth on the cheap!"

"Ah, excellent news, the gods beyond smile on our endevour already!"

"Indeed, I expect you to return with a fat profit Kanit"

"I'll do us both proud Kanio"

"You idiot"

The galley had been completed for more than a day, and only needed to be rolled down to the shore, but Setoon had insisted on giving it a once over now that it was loaded. This was apparently why;

"This isn't what it looks like" Setoon replied one of the ships strongboxes in his hands.

"Alright - what is it meant to be then? You decided to polish my money?"

"Very well, we can do this the hard way or the easy way" Setoon drew himself up to his impressive full height and cracked his knuckles "Tell me where your gold is and I'll be on my way, no harm will come to you"

"Gold? I had to take out three loans to pay for this ship! there is no gold! the wealth is in the swords and tools in the hold, and the maps and deals in my head!"

"I did not want to hurt you old man, but if you insist on the hard way..."

"I do; Getroo, Soonith - shoot him"

"Wah?" gasped Setoon as he turned, the arrows taking him in the leg and arm. As he fell to the floor he stared at the heavily armed men who had silently moved into position behind him.

"Its a dangerous world out here Setoon, you city boys always forget to watch your back. If you were as stupid as you were to a Tyromian tribesman then he'd be wearing your scalp by now - and a fine hat it would make too. Trade is a serious business you know!"

Iggy, so what about my question? Is that possible?

Update IX- 1700 BCE

Burn in the Abyss, foul betrayers!
-King Desh of Ur, to the Babylonian rebels.

The Hawaiian colonizers in the Americas are bunkering down for the oncoming storm. The Jungle Necromancers are advancing rapidly northwards, and will soon reach the Isthmus of Panama. Hawaiian efforts to discover what powers this evil force have borne some fruit. Apparently, there are gates where the dead are emerging from. They suspect that their destruction will cut off the undead's means of growing their army.

The blood of the Haida people stains the Pacific ocean. The Elgovian, Hyperborean, and Iroquois armies have taken the nation by storm. With no experience of majour wars, the Haidans collapsed rapidly. The ingenious tactics of the invading forces both kept the Haidans occupied and away from their cites AND prevented them from using their magical totems.

Once the Haida army was whittled down, Horrors were unleashed upon the undefended mainland Haida cities. They were utterly razed.

The remaining Haida army retreated to the islands, only to find them already being overrun by skilled Hyperborean marines. A desperate battle was fought, but the remaining Haida were outnumbered 5 to 1. The last few Haida-owned islands in the north held out for a few years, but the people were demoralized and began rebelling. In the time of disorganization, the Elgovians landed their forces and destroyed the last remenants of the Haida empire.
(-100 Elgovian infantry, -100 Hyperborean infantry, -10 Horrors, -100 Iroquois infantry, +1 economy level to Iroquois, Hyperborea, Elgovia)

At home, the Elgovians have been expanding like crazy. Using claimant sticks, magical rods that create fields that only allow in people of Elgovia, they have been able to take huge tracts of unclaimed land.

The farflung Hyperborean Suzerainty is setting up outposts all over their known world. They have requested posession of the island of Faroe from Avalon, and settled on Khuba (cuba). They are also settling the Pacific coast of North America. With more and more natives joining the nation, it is becoming increasingly cosmopolitan- but segregation and concern about the dwindling Hyperborean bloodline is causing tension.

Avalon is also colonizing new lands at a great speed. Their rapid treeships have brought settlers further into Scandinavia in the east, and North America in the west. They are also settling the Caribbean, along with Hyperborea and Illryia.

The natives on OTL Baffin Island did not take kindly to further Avalonian expansion, however. They have fought Avalon's settlers, but with fairly few casualties for now.
(-50 Avalonian infantry)

Gorin has left its long period of isolation with a bang. Their army, under the lead of General Krippa, has occupied the northern island of Atlantica. The only resistance they encountered was from the General Torez, dictator of the nation. He was killed by Krippa personally, while the rest of the Gorin army dealt with the puny Atlantican guard. The people of Atlantica, however, are ecstatic. They see this as the dawn of an age of peace and prosperity. They have also shown the Gorin how to work Iron.
(Gorin enters Iron Age)

Karthage, invaded the southern Atlantican island at the same time as Gorin entered the north. Torez had even less support there, and as with Gorin, the people are overjoyed by their new government and have taught Karthage how to utilize Iron.
(Karthage enters Iron age, -Atlantica as an independant nation)

The New Atlanteans have dredged out the Strait of Gibraltar, and the Mediterranean can go back to its more normal existence.

The Germanians continue to quietly expand and develop. Their trap plant breeding project is now halfway done.

Using Hyperborea's warp portal. Illyria has begun Caribbean colonization. So far it has two majour colonies, putting it in the lead in the race to claim land. Back in Illyria proper, massive parades of an undead army have greatly raised Illyrian morale and loyalty. In a more private matter, Ren has begun the construction of the Soul Vortex, a twisted machine that converts the life force of a human into magical riches.

Tripolye has completed the construction of its new capital of Kiyevgrad. It is slightly further to the north, and much better designed than the old capital, which had developed in an age before wheeled vehicles had crowded up the streets. But this has been noticed by few non- Tripoleans. The real news occured to the south, in Ur.

The city of Babylon, which has been growing on par with Ur for centuries, has declared itself and many of the lands around it to be independent from Ur. War erupted immediately as Ur launched an attack to quickly retake the city of Babylon. It made it as far as the walls of the city before being repelled. There have been many more skirmishes and battles, but none have yet been conclusive. Ur has the advantage of fighting experience and trade, Babylon has the advantage of a central and more easily defensible position.
(Ur's stats split in two, -200 infantry)

Khemri has been vigorously investigating the Libyan glass and its inherent magical properties. The Lich King is planning to create a magical nexus there soon.

Abyssinia, using the Nine Winds, has founded several cities in Arabia and up the Nile. King Menelik has claimed southern Arabia as his own, and given the political state of Ur, the only nation likely to dispute this claim, Abyssinia’s claim is unlikely to be denied.

Sudafrika has bounced back from a near collapse back into non-magical barbarism. A rejuvinated Arneline has reorganized the army and struck out against the barbarians to the north. However, the barbarian's numbers were underestimated. It is there disorganization that allowed small Sudafrikan gains on most fronts. Arneline's generals believe that total control over the barbarian lands is the only way to ensure safety for their nation.
(-100 Sudafrikan infantry)

Firelord Deependra has completed the construction of a massive road system connecting every city in the Indus Empire. Babylon is constantly seeking aid and perhaps knowledge of the secret of iron working from the Indus Empire.

Mongolia seems to be settling down from their warlike ways somewhat. They have expanded into Manchuria, and the Great Khan is growing worried by the fact that some Mongol citizens are starting to live in permanent settlements.

The Vol' Kiss have secured all of their islands, and now look to the great continent to the south. They have dispanded the long line of firespawns that defended the island, to be replaced by Rangers, skilled guerilla fighters.

Antarctica has now claimed almost half of their continent, and have discovered the southern coasts of South America and Africa. They had met with Ross and Hawaii several times to determine what to do against the Jungle necromancers. But recently, Hawaii has contacted Elgovia and Hyperborea. Together, they must decide what is to be done against this threat- quickly.

Stats will be updated Monday or Tuesday.

Notes: I'm changing a rule, upgrading your army doesn't cost an economy level. It's free.

To Indus
From Abyssinia
We propose a trade route to connect our peoples and allow both of our nations to grow and prosper.

OOC: Iggy- Could you possibly change either Antarctica or Ross's color? I can't tell which one controles southern S. America.

Also, I never got a response about my new project. Here it is again:

Colonization Project: Sets up schools to teach my people to always want to go out and foudn a new city- double city founding rate, +1 education level

Nice - I'm glad our attack worked so well. Good update as well :). Couple of points.

Re: Cuba I'm only meant to control a tiny base (I.e city with a green outline as you so nicely did in lousiana) whilst Illyria gets the rest. Oh well I'll just sell the lands later.
Re: Faroes - So they didn't let me set up a portal there?

To Hawai'i
From the Hyperboreans

O Footloose seamen, we greet you warmly and in friendship, perhaps you would like to trade with us at our Pacific ports. We are willing to show you the way to the rich lands of Valusia, or give your ambassadors passage on our Portal network, for a small fee of course.

Re: Faroes - So they didn't let me set up a portal there?

I originally had you getting the Faroes in the update, but TerrisH never mentioned that in his orders, so 'kwapeesh' went that.
