LINES-World of Magic

My next update will encompass this one and the one after it. So I'll kind of BT it, you know, do what your nation would probably do so you don't have to send orders blind.

Sorry, what? You mean we are having a BT (a BT we don't even get to send orders for) during the greatest war yet fought on this world (sans Atlantis v Ur)?

Colour me unenthusiatic, can't we just have a normal update whenever you have it done?

So should we send more orders?

And how accurate is Erik's "update"?

Okay. just remeber, Evles are Sneaky, but we won't break a deal. gro eco and the project, dump the rest into millitary Units, the best to make up for the losses Germica delt to me, and after that, rest into treeships. I will Rule the Sk.. Seas. I will rule the seas!

If they didn't, I'm might just turn serious on your suggestion from last turn and ally with Karthage and turn on them.If Iggy accounts for that, I'm going to consider quitting indignantly. First two allies do nothing, then you give yourself a secret "training" stat and declare that it affects battles.
But since Iggy didn't include a training stat, all galleys are equally trained.

Lurker's Comment: I couldn't resist to respond so here it is:

Just because the mod didn't include a training stat it doesn't mean all galleys are equally trained. For example on one side is a Navy with a long and pretigious history of fighting on sea with many experienced officers and sailors. On the other side is a navy built up within a decade with absolutely no experience. How could you say that the two navies would be equally trained? Not everything has to be written down in stone (in the rules) to apply in the nes. ;)

Alex: Any form of godmoding is wrong, and saying "I win because my galleys are more trained" is godmoding. Winking doesn't help, either.

Oh, and like I said the first time around, updates are a hundred years.

I could argue that Karthage's history of fighting on the sea has made them overconfident and therefore they should lose battles for being more experiences. It's no less reasonable, and that's why we have rules. To prevent godmode invocations. Trying to invoke godmode "because it isn't in the rules" is not something I'm going to waste my time discussing.

(See Wank-Power Optimum.)

You could. And just like with my orders the mod has a choice to make. That's why I don't see why your making a big deal out of it. Just because I put it in my PM orders, doesn't mean the mod has to make it that way. If he thinks its a good reason he'll consider it when he writes the update, if he thinks its a bad or invalid reason, he'll ignore it. Just because I write it doesn't constrain him to do it.

And I dislike you insinuating that I am trying to godmod. Out of the entire time I've been playing, that one line is the closest I've come, and as I just argued above, I don't think that is close to godmodding. If your so worried about godmodding why do you claim that

my chaosiers get bonuses to countering your aquamancers

despite the fact that in the rules it clearly states that

-Magicians on opposite sides can cancel each other’s power out, so the force with more magic-wielders gets to use its spells.

So is godmodding all right as long as its you who does it?

Note To All: I am willing to drop this or take this to PM but if Erik keeps whining and insuniating that I'm trying to cheat, I will defend myself in just a public manner as his accusations.

"Godmoding" to you, is common sense to another.

So? It does not mean the battle or battles took place within one hundred year of the last major sea engagement. A flaw within nesing that I feel has been corrected with the IT/BT nes formation.

I could also argue that overconfidence does not necessarily lead to defeat . If you're a sailor in the British Navy in the War of 1812 against the Americans, everything else normal you'll naturally enter the battle with high moral due to your navy's long list of victories and history. Overconfidence and defeat doesn't come hand in hand with experience. Look up some of the military geniuses of the World, Wellington, Turenne, Cromwell, Genghis Khan (someone shoot me) and etc.

You're not going to waste your time discussing it because if you discuss everything you whine about you won't have any time whatso ever.

I think it makes sense that Karthage should focus on naval battles... it seems to me as one of the few ways to survive against a numerical and strategically superior enemy.

Demanding a victory on such grounds is asking the Mod to godmode you, to play like that in freeform without provocation is godmoding too. To try and convince the Mod of the likelihood that you should win is just smart... aaaah, you're offering counter-arguments! ;)

Why do I get involved...

Azash, I call godmoding. You're trying to sneak in some über-magic, I can tell.

It's not like I knew a single freaking thing about the Middle East. Write it yourself. :p

I'll say it again; I'm not godmoding! I'm trying to lead the stories to a certain point; I will stay as pure geomancy; and if it is overpowered, nerf it! But I am not godmoding, damnit!
EDIT: Oh, jalapeno already explained some of it.

baaah Erik can't deal with illogical defeat just like me but on a different level, it's just the way things are, no need to defend yourself
Iggy will sort us out.

It's all up to Iggy anyway. If he suspects someone for godmodding he can slap them down as a penalty instead. Otherwise, units should not get bonuses for being "experienced". Not for any possible logical reasons, but for practical ones. The MOD can't keep track of abstract "training" or " experience" for each and every unit in the NES.

Stop your incessant whining, everyone. This will be sorted by Iggy, not you.

Pffft, there is no Godmoding when you have a Mod... it would rather be a case of 'manipulating the Mod' like in school where you're automatically kissing ass if you try to be nice to a teacher.
Godmoding implies invulnerability and there's just none of it in a game with a Mod who's any fair at all.

PS. I quit because my requests for a list of contacts was ignored time upon time after time and so and so on... for almost two updates.
Good Nes though and have a nice time everyone. :)

Shhh! Do you hear that? Is it the sound of a dying NES? Oh my, did I just jinx us by saying that? :suicide:

No its just Toteone. He's like a wound in the Force.

Since this is causing a problem, I'll write a mini-update, but a real update, to mention the wars. The problem is that I'm insanely busy, as I've said before. I should have the mini-update and map done by a little while after I have time.

Sorry people, but I ahve to quit. I have ruined a few nations by not being able to send in orders and I do not see myself being capable of sending in orders any time soon. In fact, my life just got a lot busier and for me to stay in without sending orders would just screw things up more. Sorry again, but I have to quit.

I'll shut up from now on. No reallly, I solemny swear that I will not even mention the word again.
