LINESII- Into the Darkness

To the World
From Davar

We will cede all land west of the Kalmar river back to Gerber in exchange for the remaining land to be put under our control. We will divide the land into two provinces and allow what people live in it to become citizens of Davar and have a voice in the government by expanding the council to fifteen. if this is accordance with the gerber treaty, we will sign it. If not we won't bring a pen anywhere near the paper.

To Tristaria
From Davar

We wish to purchase the lower Gerber lands that you conquored in this war. These lands, as you have pointed out, are lightly populated and serve to real purpose to you. We wish to offer one eco point for those lands.

(Didn't I already post this offer?)

Innovations III

The furnace was of Gorinese design, hot as the sun above. The roaring fire made it look indeed like a hornet's nest, the commotion accompanied by a promise of industry and work being done inside it. The furnace was, however, not one for smelting and purifying metal ore. It was one of the more profitable trades started in Shalamari a few decades ago: Glass crystals.

The Glass crystals, sometimes only called "glass" was a product very much alike rock crystal - only more clear, and able to be shaped into endless shapes and sizes. Its discovery and development had indeed revolutionized Shalamari in a sense. The immense symbolic value rock crystals had in Crystalism or indeed all of Shalamari culture meant that this craft would be immensely popular and of great interest of the people from the very beginning. Where only the aristocratic families were rich enough (and allowed) to own crystals, suddenly every farmer's wife was wearing glass jewelry of dazzling colors.

The discovery was also a great boon for the Church, who rapidly used glass to make countless amulets and talismans, carved and imbued with protective magic and blessings. The glass trade was also an economic advancement, as the rich sources of obsidian and similar minerals in the Crystal Ridge allowed mass production and export of the glass. This also meant the secrets of the craft were greatly coveted, and only teached to the best of Shapers, as those who crafted glassware were called. Thus, Shalamari secured the exclusive know-how of glassmaking and -blowing.

The uses of Glass crystal were many. First, large sheets were made for use in arches of palaces and manors. This allowed the sunlight to enter, while still creating a barrier between the interior and exterior. Seconly, corroded powder of copper and iron (and sometimes gold!) were used to glaze, and later even color the entire sheets. This was particularily used in the Crystal Palace, which boasted a grand total of twelve glass mosaics with magnificent colors, each twelve feet high and seven feet wide.

Other common uses were mostly jewelry in form of beads, "crystal pottery" and the crystal "windows" popular in the upper class. More extravagant (and expensive) glassware was made for art and decorations, religious tools, (many Priests acquired glass spheres for divination ceremonies, since rock crystal ones were rare and traded for exorbitant prices) or even furniture. All in all, the Glass crystal was adopted by Shalamari as possibly the greatest blessing of all their recent innovations. The secret of the craft would undoubtably leak out some time, but for now, Shalamari benefited greatly from its exclusive production. It was something to take pride in for the entire people, and it was fitting that it was they who had discovered it first. After all, their nation was named "crystal clear". ;)

@Darkening: I was joking. ;)

But if you suggest a deal that we like, we'll give you bronze.

EDIT: Post 1500! :band:

Hey, glass has been around in RL for 5000 years. I figured it was about time we got it too. ;) Although I've jumped a bit, but my nation's emphasis on crystals balances that. This is their new "hype", if there were any.

Book IV

On Crystalism

Crystalism is an intresting religion; It has an obvious Geograpical starting point, The Crystal Ridge Mountains. Due to the high abdundance of Crystals in said mountain range, and the finding of a Crystal Grotto, the simple peoples were struck dumb. Indeed Our gods message seems to have communicated itself through these peoples at some point. However the Importance of trance's Meditation etc, leads me to beleive that due to the position of their nation (access to the corret "Herbs"). Has lead to this rather unique interpetation of the World. In the beginning of this religion, death was obviously important, lives were short and bleak. The Red Lady appealed to this, promising an afterlife. It is also used as a threat, subscribe yourself to these morales or you will not gain access to this Paradise. This unfortunatly keeps the progression of ideas firmly locked in place, as the Priests will contiuly reaccess their Original Morale system in the interpetation of the new. This morale System is further reinforced by the ritulistic calling on dead spirits. Obviously from this Paradise to advise on the Morale system. And Whilst it is an open and accepting religion, it does not change, or if it does is very brittle.

The first shock to this was the discovery that the people of Gorin, whilst they worshipped in the same fashion as the other Crystalists, would not bow to the authority of the High Priest. The reaction of said High priest is unkown, as he was reputadly Drunk. The Reaction was war. Unable to accept these differing views and with the ability to combat these peoples War broke out. The war was inconclusive in all respects and eventually petered out, as the religion was forced to adopt a more pragmatic apporach.

The next focus is that although it proscribes to govern your life, Crystalism main and most prominant focus is death. You Live to Die, And Die to Paradise. Crystalism found it easy enough to reconcile NeoCrystalism back into the faith, having commen beginnings, but it finds itself increasingly hard to gain headway in Other nations. Unless of course their is widespread death and it is fairly comment. (for instance the large amount of deaths in Khemri and Former Nurmafer). It is my thoughts that Crystalism will suffer from pro-longed peace, simply due to their harsh-word view.

Book V

On The Khemrian Monotheism

Our Faith, oft referred by outsiders as Khemrian Monotheism. Internally known as Andues. It attempts to enter a dialogue with other peoples, listens to all views and uses this information in debate to constantly update our interpetation of God. That is to say, we will not remain brittle simply because our ancestors decreed that we were to interpet a Theological work in such a manner, does not mean we have to. We critise, because it Strengthens. We test because it Strengthens. We Debate to understand better. Have you ever known a Priest to be wrong? Yes. Why is this? Because man is imperfect, we strive for a better understanding of God. It is hypothesised that we are reborn once we die, thus when we come back into the world, we again seek to attain a perfect understanding. Because all religions have some merit, we study all religions, we debate them. If the religons did not have merit, they would not exist. The people would abandon it. How would they know that something is without merit? Because Gods Divine message is written within all of us, we simply have to understand it. God has proscribed, and we will listen. Because we wish to strive for a closer relationship with God.

OOC: HORRIBLE joke in there :mischief:. Look at the name of my religion :D

oh and Yes he is INCREDIBLY biased :p

N.B other religions simply do not have enough written about them for me to write about them.....*Hint Hint*
