LK135 - Dutch, monarchy, Hemispheres map

New Updates
We can get the knight in Ulundi up there in two turns. Let get him there. In fact, I would most of the nearby cities to no units.
I really can't offer much more advice. We need to get plenty of infantry, so I would switch plenty of nearby cities to mace planning to rush them after we get infantry.

Roster
LKendter
Yena
Meiz (on deck)
Njorls (currently playing)
Tatran

Remember 15 peace (including phony wars) / 10 heavy war turns per round. STRICT 24 hours got it, total 48 hours to complete.

Planned wars - none.

Turn 2 continued...

I made a trade

degaulle-rifling0000.jpg

Funny how I couldn't make the trade until the oil well was finished. This let me turn Science down to 0 for upgrades.

I moved up the frigate and East Indaman like Yena suggested to block a direct naval assault on 's-Grave without landing
I upgraded as much in 's-Grave as I could
I move units to the battle from all points

IBT:
Churchill declares war along with Mansa

lk135-church-war0000.jpg

Kublai declares war on Churchill and Mansa... odd, I didn't bribe him into it

lk135-kublai-dec-war.jpg

Maybe the 'declare war on our friend (us) pushed him over the edge.

We have us a real battle royale going

lk135-hullaballoo0000.jpg

Turn 3: This is where Churchill moved to

Civ4ScreenShot0050.jpg

He didn't try and unload his stack.
With oil online I upgraded a frigate to destroyer and 2 East Indiaman to Transports, along with units in cities he could attack from the sea

Turn 4: Churchill moves to a very strange spot again without unloading
I counterattack with the 3 oil ships to get his frigates, then 2 of our frigates sink galleons. Those frigates get upgraded to destroyers after attacking.
I end the turn with his galleons surrounded by oil ships
I upgrade cities he could get to with infantry/machine gun

lk135-churchill-surrounded0000.jpg

Turn 5: Churchill's other frigates, and Mansa had 2 frigates here as well, gang up on a wounded transport and sink it. But the galleons stayed where they were instead of trying to escape to land units. 4 more galleons get sunk

We get a great general, I use to make a level 6 medic 3 knight

Turn 6: Churchill suicides everything in his 3 remaining galleons on 's-Hertogenbush, an island city with CR2 infantry and a machine gun. His invasion threat's pretty much over so I raise the science bar. 2 galleons and 4 frigates sunk. Churchill's down to 1 galleon which a destroyer will take next turn. Units that were moved to the land fight which never really happened are moved back where they originated.

Turn 7: Churchill has 2 frigates off the coast near Hun so I rush a transport there, which takes both out

I moved some navy out to scout Mansa and Churchill, I haven't seen any signs of another attack.

Fascism's discovered, the great general is in 's-Gravenhange to either be settled or make a military academy if we tech military science.

The war between Churchill/Mansa and Kublai seems active, all 3 got great generals and Churchill captured a city Ning-hsia which I couldn't find on the map. Kublai capitulating to Churchill could cause us problems if there's a diplomatic vote.

Churchill wants Liberalism from us for peace. I finally figured out how to see what they want/will give for peace.

West Point built. Great Merchant borns from our National Park city. We could settle him in Wall Street city or start Golden Age with help of Great Prophet.

De Gaulle and Gilgamesh are both massing up troops near each others borders and both of them have enough on their hands.

Here's a look at the corporation screen. One excetutive is on his way to Amsterdam.

Start a GA is my vote on quick look.

I won't get a chance to look at the game in detail until tonigth. Did even get a chance to look at 1800 AD. :crazyeye:

I'm thinking we should settle GM. We have another Great Person in no time and that can be used to GA.

-Wake up the workers, all lumbermills need rails at least and I'm not sure if all cities are connected by rails yet
 Why in the world were the workers sleeping in the first place?

IMHO the workers shouldn't stop until every tile have railroads.

Just to ease little of your pain, workers where set to "Skip turn" on my last turn as I was writing report. Of course I forgot to move them afterwards.

Still I'm feeling really noob as I didn't realize that railroads give extra hammers on lumbermills aswell :(

Guess I was the only one who wasn't surprised by Churchill's DoW.
It was either Kublai Khan or us. @ Njorls :goodjob:.
Now, let's see what will happen the next turns with 3 leaders enough on their hands.

Playing...

The DoW wasn't a surprise for me. I've been pushing more military for awhile.

It was the number of galleons. I've not seen that many ships in a landing before.

Now that you have physics, i think you can build some airships to patrol. You should get a 1 turn view advantage of big naval stacks like Churchill's. Those give me a heart attack. With certain civics, naval vessels outside cultural boundaries start to mount up in cost as their numbers increase. Airships give you recon without the huge cost until bombers.

Not surprised though--in nearly every game i have played on similar maps since Warlords 2.08+, i have found out that you cannot wait for destroyers to fend off naval landings.

This is the first time I built Sid's Sushi, and the food affects are insane. The Hague has 11 specialists, and is still growing. :crazyeye:
The big challenge is how in the world to we keep this many people happy? We need Rock and Roll and Eiffel tower this game.
(IT) There are a lot of war declarations against De Gaulle.

1854 AD
(IT) We get even more money, when a random event makes gives courts $1.
We get another merchant. I merge him into our Wall Street city.

1856 AD
(IT) We get a random event for public transportation giving $5 in just Amsterdam. This late in the game this is meaningless.

1859 AD
(IT) We complete Rock and Roll. We can use more happy faces.

1861 AD
(IT) A random event gives us a great spy at the cost of $549.

1862 AD
We are so far in the lead we don't need the bonuses from the great spy, so I start yet another GA.

1863 AD
(IT) We complete the Pentagon.
We have another merchant.

1864 AD
I put the merchant to sleep, just in case we can get enough GP for a fourth GA.
