Notes and Suggestions:
  • The road to the coal deposit is complete and a Settler is on the marh to there.
    • The roading crew is now improving the coal site.
  • Beijing, Shanghai, Xinjain, and Earth Horse Ranch are the 4 towns I would definitely build Steam Engines in.
  • The 2 German cities have many German troops in them.
  • I am continuing to protect the road to the coal site from having Inca or other foreign troops standing on it.
  • I started to move Cavalry into our towns sharing a border with the Inca.
  • I left a good number of Cavalry in old Persia. Given that Russia is now on our border there I am happy I left them there.
  • Screenshots are in my next post.

Nice move capturing the remaining Korean towns. Also, nice pick up of Democracy.

Did you see the Germans move any of their troops out of the 2 former Korean cities they have?

In the previous games in the LK series I am reasonable certain that we could build Steam Engines in any town that had access to Coal (i.e all towns connected to the capital). It appears that in this game only towns with Coal in their Fat Cross can build Steam Engines.

Since the patch of 13th December 2019 Steam Engines can be built in every city with access to coal. The main download of CCM was patched by this date, too (topic 10).

I'll run a test of my current .BIQ to see if that is fixed before the next game. That civ glitch really found an old, borked version.

Russia was who I was thinking. They have burned their units taking India and we were strong vs them.
Inca are also being attacked on two fronts so we could go for them as well, but our troops are not in position for that. Once we get rails we can go for them.

I did more looking/comparing BIQs and see that the BIQ for Steam Engines should not have the "Require Goods Must Be Within City Radius" box checked.
At least Steam Engines have a short "life span".

I've got it. I'd like to go after Russia next. Thoughts?
I have no problem with going after Russia.
We have not started to build the Capital (reduces corruption) yet. A good spot (first mentioned by Greebley) would be in Persepolis, and not having Russia nearby makes it safer to build there.

Handoff notes:

The war with Russia has gone well except for the loss of Chartres.

They still have a lot of troops in the Madras area. It looks like they want to retake Karachi.

I suggest waiting 2-3 turns, then taking the stack from Pusan to retake Chartres. That gives time to make sure the Russian armies near Madras get reduced *en route* to Karachi.

Once the threat to Karachi is dealt with, we can take Madras and Lahore, then start moving towards Moscow.

Railroads are almost here! Unfortunately, our Worker stacks are rather scattered. We have a couple of stacks near Wonsan, another SW of Gordium, a few over in Old Korea, and one near Tabriz.

Also unfortunately, we only have a handful of cities size 20+, so we can't rush a *lot* of Steamrollers to help with rails.

Nice steal of Industrialization. Too bad Russian might not be around to steal Railroads from. ;)
To have a good chance at building the Crystal Palace we need to construct a Gas Holder and Factory in Beijing (rushing a gas holder first means we can build them both in the next 3 turns or 2 turns if we also rush the factory).

Mid-set teaser
