LK174, Civ=America, CCM3, True American Democracy

I got it.
I am going to switch NYC to build the Philosophers Stone and get Gunpowder + Navigation as the free picks.
Navigation will gives us a good shot at building both The Hansetic League for free Kontors in every city and the Arsenal. Both of those wonders build free ships.

But they would have it available when they learn the appropriate tech in later eras.
No, at that time those GWs are all obsolete and therefore are not producing that virtual resource any longer.

As far as I remember, the Hanseatic League builds no free ships - only free Kontors, what is a lot.

I got a chance to look at the game. We really need more workers. Quite a few of our towns are working undeveloped tiles. I really want to see big cities razed for workers. I check every turn for possible worker buys via mapstat. I hope everyone is.

More settlers but not more workers makes things look worse, even though we are better off overall.

We have had some bad luck but in other games like the island one we didn't get many workers until later than this.

I do agree it worth razing bigger cities. I think the number of workers is culture dependent as well so more culture translates to more workers. We may want to fill out the culture buildings before building regular units for example

Very early tease: We have saltpeter hooked up. Most of our pikes and catapults have been upgraded.

Nice screenshot with its pasted in parts of information. :)

I'm happy to know we have Saltpeter. We've done very well for resources to far.

We got really lucky here. Picking up a next age tech before the library expired due to scientific civ; able to switch to a 2 free tech wonder just before our the statue built; getting higher defense units just before the war started.

Did you choose to upgrade Pikes before starting the war? That would be good for a Democracy where losses lead to war weariness.

Question:
Is the overthrow of democracy in CCM3 the same as the standard game? Do I recall correctly it happens at 120 WW? Does WW work the same way as the standard?

Govt Democracy in CCM 3 works like a better standard Govt Republic. WW is only low and not high. In CCM 3 it should make sense to switch from Republic to Democracy. Democracy has better anti-corruption values, an additional production boost and the same WW compared to Republic.

Thanks for the info Civinator.

From the article on WW:
Add 1 wwp for each
- lost unit without defence value
- improvment pillage/bombed
- unit that are bombard down to 1 hp
Add 2 wwp when a human attacker is defeated
Add 2 wwp when a unit with defence value is attacked. (Even if you win)
Add 16 wwp when a size 1 city is captured 17 wwp for bigger cities.

Edit: It also mentions a bug where AI WW is same as the player. Not sure if this was handled by flint fixes.

Getting Alchemy was really a lucky break. :goodjob: Think about it 2 civs we know had to know that tech and one of them (probably the Maghreb) who was not scientific, had to have been in the next age long enough to have learned Alchemy and then Germany the Scientific civ got it as a bonus.

Some of the Pikes that where near the English border were not upgraded. I had to wait the 2 turns for a border expansion building a road before we got saltpeter.

If we are fighting the British, why do we have more cities with German names? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

It looks like we have 10 towns, so I assume we now have a Knight Army now? At least I think it was 10...

Completed 5 turns spoiler before quitting for the night.
