The young man stumbled off the boat, his arms weary from the work at the oars. But how else could a young man as poor as him hitch a ride on a boat than through hard work? He gritted his teeth, and dragged his hand through his short, black hair, wet from sweat, and dragged the black cape closer around his otherwise bare torso. Underneath it, his right hand was clenching the small knife.

He looked around. Crossing the great ocean had helped him put a small distance to his past, but he could still feel the dark memories lurking in the back of his mind, gnawing away at his sanity.

With a sigh, Lucas walked inland.

The rest will be PM'ed
Personality: A wild, rogueish young man, with occassional extreme (and often violent) reactions due to his fragile sanity. Still searching for the ones who killed his family.

Background: the offspring of a demon and a woman, he has been living with the Sunwolf Tribe all his life. Thanks to his mentor, he has learnt to control the inner demon inside him, and can use him to great effect in battle. His innate strength makes him a great warrior, and his being in the Tribe has taught him some magical tricks.
Organisation Bonuses: Free Light Magic Lvl 1
Misc: Demonic Link: Psychic link with his father and other demons, has to make efforts so that he doesn't fully transform into a demon when he is in combat and/or in the presence of a demon (because it would be very difficult to turn back)

EDIT: Story
Beria was a beautiful woman livin in the small town of Iria. One day, a demon who wished for an offspring that would help him take over the demonic plane chose her as the future mother of his son, and thus seduced her under the guise of a handsome man, which he acquired through his magical arts. She was soon made pregnant by the demon and he started to make plans for the eventual transfer of the woman to the demonic plane.

However, he didn't take into account that the son Beria carried in her uterus would give her special powers that would help her defend herself. It was with these powers that Beria recognized that the "man" was, in fact, a demon, and ran away in the dead of the night, while the demon slept. Reaching the port of Iria, she paid for a passage and crossed the sea towards the land of Inkita, where she sought the help of her brother Liam, a magician of the Sunwolf Tribe. He hid her from the evil demon with the help of his fellow magicians.

Eight months later, Beria gave birth to what appeared to be a healthy baby boy, but soon it was obvious that it was the offspring of a demon. The most fanatic among the Sunwolf Tribe wanted to kill the child, but Beria and Liam stopped them, promising that they would teach him the way to light and to control his demonic part.

When he was five, the young boy was taught meditation by Liam's mentor, Naize, who was also one of Liam's best friends and thus was able to see Riastey for what he was: a boy, sure, a half-demon boy, but a boy nonetheless. Meditation helped Riastey to control his anger and to channel it for better use in combat. His nature made him inclined towards the Warrior class, but his uncle would also teach him magic so that he could be better versed in other arts and didn't have to rely on the strength of his arm and weapon of choice. It wouldn't be until he was fourteen that he officially joined the Tribe as a warrior, although he was an experienced warrior. Several small missions helped him temple his best abilities, for ten years, until the great moment came.

(The Great Moment would be, of course, the moment where this NES starts)

Name: Derine Grevenyd (or, in the dwarvish language of Bvaeuq'tl, Bou'ro Suoqorvb)
Class: Warrior
Race: Dwarf
Abilites: Charge
Inventory: Dwarven Over-Cloak*, water canteen, sling for storage
Armor: Leather (Comes into the coat)
Weapon: Dual Axes
Organisation: None
Appearance: Like a little teapot, short and stout. Amber eyes. An unbraided beard of a similar colour, not as long or as great as an elder dwarf's.
Personality: No more gruff than other dwarves, but one does find his lack of drinking and rowdiness that is common among most dwarves in foreign lands. As a matter of fact, he is more like what dwarves are while in their homes.
Background: Raised on a dwarven farm, which means mushrooms. That kind of living is hard, and generally unsociable, as most other youths are down in the mines, eating one's produce. Then came the time when Derine must complete the Task of Manhood. Unfortunately, he failed, and was cast out of the mountain. There he wandered to the nearest city, and was horrified at the lack of reserve in the dwaves who had taken up residence there. It was then he vowed to live on the surface as dwarves should, quiet, reserved, thoughtful while in the company of others. But he also knew he must complete some kind of heroic act to be once again accepted not only by his family, but by all of dwarf-kind. He may have failed the Task, but he was competant with an axe, often defending crops from from Giant Worms with his father.
Organisation Bonuses: N/A
Misc: *All dwarves, at least the ones of Derine's mountain, suffer from a form of agoraphobia, so, when they are on the surface, they will wear these cloaks, which cover every part of the body, and come with tinted goggles to shield their eyes. They will even wear them in buildings, although not done up, as there is the belief that the 'protection' from the outside is not enough.

Derine sat in the tavern. He didn't bother to learn the name of it, not that of the town he was in. It was unimportant. it was just a stop to his destination. Though where was that exactly? He knew his final destination was home, but where would he go inbetween?

There were dwarves in this tavern. Drinking this...this alcohol. Derine saw it made them act without restraint. Not the dwarf way at all. At least, not in battle. He chose to stick with the water he had in his canteen.

There was one dwarf, at least, Derine assumed he was a dwarf, as he had done the unspeakable act of cutting his beard to shape it, that was sat at the bar, all the time trying to leen over to peer down the top of the serving girl, whose puberty was quite generous to her.

He was sat alone. After first being joined by a dwarf that soon gave up when Derine would not join him in drinking contest when he saw the axes, and then by a tall human woman who said that dwarves her 'speciality', while leaning over the table for full effect, whom he politely sent on her way, he seemed to radiate the sence he just wanted to be left alone.

After a while he decided he had seen enough and trudged up the stairs to his bed. He didn't know how far the next settlement was, and wanted as much rest he could get.
----
I tried not to be too general with the descriptions of dwarves.

Whoah! Signup spree! Lemme read this through...

@Milarqui
Yeah id better begin setting up shops. About the prestige classes: I changed the class system alot, and if you read it through you will find that your class will change under certain cercumstanced. Meaning: You have to gain your prestige classes through rp, skill levelups, completed missions and organisation ranks.

@Haseri
Approved =) adding you to the register.

Looks good and interesting, but ATM I'm more interested in NESes that involve more infrequent story-writing, so I'm not going to sign up (sorry!)

Good luck though!

Okay =) Have fun!

Edit: Im afraid i have to go now =( Just post your finished char sheet Methos, and we'l start tomorrow!
