M-NOTW XI: The Murderer's Web

Night One

RRRaskolnikov sat in the corner of the pantry he had been handcuffed to. The tightness of the cuffs and the position of his arms had managed to cut off the circulation to his hands. He wriggled them to try and get the blood flowing again but it was to no avail. He sighed and leaned back against the pipe.

He heard someone unlocking the door.

"Who's there?" He asked.

The door opened and a shadowy figure came in.

"Who are you," shouted the doctor.

"Death," was his only reply. He walked to the corner where RRR sat, wrapped his hand around his throat and squeezed cutting off the air supply of the doctor. "Good night Doc." And with that the doctor collapsed dead.

Spoiler :
RRR was strangled. He was innocent.

---

Robbiecon the butler tossed and turned in his bed. Something wasn't right, he felt a cloud of dread over him. He knew something was going to get him. He felt an icy cold hand wrap it self on his neck. He suddenly arose from his bed in a cold sweat, it was just a dream.

"What a nightmare," he said.

He then felt the barrel of a gun in his back. The trigger to it was pulled and the butler was shot left to lie in his bed bleeding profusely.

Spoiler :
Robbiecon was shot. He was innocent.

---

DaveShack was lying awake in her bed crying herself to sleep. Her beloved husband of many years had died and she knew she would have to be in charge of his estate in this time of mourning. On the nightstand beside her sat her husband's will, he wrote it and gave it to her for safe-keeping in the event of the worst. Now that the worst had happened the detective told here that she would most likely be the next target as she is next in line for the inheritance.

"Dear God protect me," she said to herself.

"He's not here, just me," came another terrifying voice. He plunged a knife into her chest and withdrew it, leaving her to die.

Spoiler :
DaveShack was stabbed. He was innocent.

---

As the household awoke they noticed the missing. When they went to the room of DaveShack they found her in her bed with the sheets soaked in blood. When they went to find Robbiecon they discovered a similar situation.

"Someone fetch the doctor," said Takhisis.

Earthling the Groundskeeper ran to the pantry only to find the dead body of the doctor. "He's dead," he shouted.

The Detective came in and studied his neck noting the hand print. "Strangled by the looks of it."

Unable to take anymore Nictel the maid started breathing heavily while and collapsed. Everyone rushed to her.

The inspector checked her pulse, "She is dead, probably to much for her old heart to handle."

Spoiler :
Nictel had a heart attack. He was innocent.

"Four people dead in one night!" Exclaimed the Detective, "This case needs solved quickly."

Everyone agreed. They searched the people who had died and the only thing they found of interest was The Millionaire's Will. They decided to vote on who to receive it along with the vote on who to arrest to day.

Votes for arrest in bold.
Votes for Will in bold dark red.

GM Announcement: Updates will come when I have my morning coffee which is between 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

Oh my gosh! I hope some of those were accidental or vigilante or something, because four kills in one night isn't right.

That was a quick endgame for me.

Well that was nice. :S

Well, landlubber seems to be the only person still alive who had an opportunity to poison my father. I say let DrumStudent, as an officer of the law be given custody of the will.

I have to disagree. While it is a fact that your father was poisoned, there's something much more sinister going on. If people can sneak around stabbing, shooting, and strangling, I can't see how someone couldn't just sneak into the kitchen and poison the food between the time I had prepared it and the time your father ate it. If I were you, Autolycus, I'd carefully question that theory.
As for the will, as the rightful heir, you can have it, Autolycus.

Pretty convenient that the Butler and Maid both die, eh Groundskeeper Earthling?

Who's the one with the most to win from murdering my in-laws? Uncle Seon of course. He'll be after me and my wife next! Autolycus should get the will to see what's going on! There could be a clue in it.

Maid and butler dying looks like a pair of lovers.
Also, from the update: the doctor's killer is a HE.

It does sadden me that my friends suffered Sonereal. I don't think the Cook would be behind this either, all of us were happy employees and gain nothing from this violence, and it would be too foolish and obvious. So I think it's someone outside the family, not really related, someone who really didn't care about kind old Darth Caesar, mostly responsible. That could easily be Seon, don't like the looks of the man.

Winston Hughes for the will, he works with the inspector anyway but that man seems to know his stuff better.

Well, if the general consensus is that I should have it, I, Autolycus, will accept my father's will. landlubber makes a valid point that many had the opportunity to kill my father. Earthling, I resent you saying that my father's brother isn't really related. And you are? I think you might be behind this.

It's 'servants', not 'employees'. A servant is not a common labourer, my goodness!

Myself, DrumStudent for the will. I should be able to inspect it for fingerprints, that sort of thing. Tally ho with the arrest of Seon!

Why is it convenient for the Groundskeeper that the Butler and the Maid both died?

Funny. Aren't I innocent before proven guilty, dear inspector? I wonder why you, a man of law, would gladly jump to arrest me without any logical reason.

Do you have any financial problems lately Takhisis? No? Neither do I. The fact is my brother was BLACKMAILED. Therefore, the murders that take place right now is most likely to be done as to cover up said blackmail. If that is the case, anyone, ABSOLUTELY ANYONE, can be the culprit.

What is this I don't even... I DIDN'T CARE ABOUT MY BROTHER?! Preposterous. HE WAS MY FREAKING BROTHER! We spent more time together than any of you combined! Your goal is obvious, it is to break apart the sacred trust between our family, trample it, and then spit on it like some kind of intellectual rapist!

Die Groundskeeper Earthling, DIE!

Ah, I see that something happened to change the name you gave the detectives perhaps, that gave me the wrong impression. Apparently you are the late Darth's brother, haven't seen you around for a while, but I was thinking you were an uncle from the other side of the family, an in-law as it were. (Seriously, I don't know why your character's name was changed to the "uncle" which doesn't match what was in the sign-up thread, so I didn't realize you were the same as the Millionaire's brother)

I still might as well suspect someone outside the family. I'm not guilty and don't do anything here except tend the gardens so no one's getting to the bottom of this that way, but I do mistrust Seon Takhisis. Our dear Heiress got mixed up in a nasty crowd I would always say, maybe Darth never said so but I thought he felt that way, only wanted the best for his daughter.

This is not a good start to the time here with my bestest friend in the whole world. I was a afraid things would happen when I was here, I just knew I should not have shown up here, but now more than ever my BFFL will need my support for her. I will say that she should keep the will the will so Autolycus can have it. I am worried about her husband though. I am very annoyed at her for ignoring my advice and marrying that horrible man.. I am certain that he is one of the people you are looking for. Taskhisis

Earthling the Groundskeeper cannot possibly be guilty. I have investigated him thoroughly, and not only does he lack both the means and the motivation to commit such a crime, he also has an airtight alibi.

Moving on, I note that certain individuals are trying to prevent the law from viewing what might be a crucial piece of evidence, and that others - including my assistant - have got confused about who it is that is running this investigation. The only sensible thing is, of course, for me to examine the will before passing it to other interested parties.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I must turn my expert mind to the matter at hand. The noose is closing around our villains, but I fear it will require all my genius to expose their dastardly plot before it is too late. If anyone needs me, I'll be in the bath...

Earthling, stop accusing Seon. I don't trust him compeltely but it'll have to do.

Also, Mr. Detective, the will is a private family matter and it corresponds to the potential beneficiaries of it (i.e. his spouse and descendants) to see through it, not some nasty busybody who is neither kith nor kin to us.

classical_hero, what is this nonsense you spout? bandwagonism at its fullest!
