Man sleepwalks from Poland to Denmark!

And my translation from the Norwegian Broadcasting:

A Polish man had a good time with his friends on friday. The next day he knocked on a door in Gørløse on Northern Sjælland only wearing underpants.

The police says to Sjællands Nyheder (Newspaper) that the man apperantly had been sleepwalking.

The Polish 43 year old man was a bit desoriented when he explained to the police that he had had a party somewhere in Poland on friday evening. However, he could not understand where he was the next morning, but believed that he might have ended up in Germany.

Admitted to mental hospital
He also could not explain where his clothes, money or passport was, and he was therefore arrested, as, according to the Immigration law, foreigners can not stay in Denmark without money. This experience traumatised him so much that he was admitted to a mental hospital. His case was about to start on monday. It was abandoned however, when new aspects about the case became known.

Saved by his friends
A Danish man, who had just arrived in Denmark, contacted the police and could tell them the following story:

Some Polish friends of him had contacted him and told him that they were missing their friend, which they had been looking for since Saturday morning. The friends told him that the 43 year old was extreme when it came to sleepwalking.

The Polish friends gave their statements to the Danish police, and could show the police their friend's ticket, money and passport. Afterwards they were allowed to take their friend home. How the man was able to go the distance from Poland to Denmark is still a mystery.

It sounded pretty crazy at first, but I'm guessing that the journalists writing this is still on summer vacation... If the friends had his clothes, passport and ticket, it sounds like they took the boat to get to Denmark and then their friend "walked away" during the night...

According to google maps, to walk from the closest town in Poland to the closest town in Denmark would take 3 days and 14 hours of non-stop walking.

That's 420 km.. it would take you far longer than ~4 days of walking, IMO.

Somehow I doubt that there is a direct train from Poland to Gørløse. The sleepwalked onto a ferry theory seems to be more plausible to me.
