* Pre-Civil War: all blacks had 3/5 of a vote. Post-War: they had a right to vote. I would call that an equal say!
** Women's suffrage, Civil Rights anyone?

Okay then, but that just means that you're not a patriot because you have a blatant disregard for the constitutional amendment process and the rule of law which our nation was founded upon. One of the fundamental concepts of our nation is that it can be changed. You must respect that process, and abide by what our constitution says, including its changes, or you are not a patriot.

You said earlier that assault is legally defined as assaulting any person. :)

Dude, the founding fathers hated democracy and hated the tyranny of the masses. We were a republic from the very beginning. You're not a patriot for not knowing basic 2nd grade history.

except we where a democracy, the people had it in there power to change the laws if they wanted to. What do you think the Civil War was actully about, it wasnt about slavery, the south put that on us to villianize the south, and that villiany continues today.

The Civil War was the south fighting for its consitional rights. Unlawful tax's on import and export goods that the south did not support because at the time they relied soley on exports.

Lack of Federal support in the south agasint the growing problems with criminals and indians in some of the more western territory

The fundemental changed incurred to the southern states because of other laws passed which helped the north but hurt the south tremendusly

The south was being bleed dry by the south, and we fought for our freedom from the opression and look what it got us. Turned into Villians when we where the true patriots and we southerns still are.

So.. the south screwed it'self over?

and your ignoreing the fact that pre civil war the people had a real say. Who makes the laws today, the corpirations, the rich, and the politicians.

Where is the vast majority of America represented in making those laws.

So.. the south screwed it'self over?

no we got screwed over by the north. And when we tried to fight back, we where turned into villians. That is why to this day the North and South do not get along, the further south you go, we remember and we dont forget the crimes commited agasint us. We are the real patriots, and we will rise again

Who has ever made the laws?

Congress, from the very freaking beginning.

You used slaves. You are the villains.

no im a patriot and why, because that flag has blood of men in it, Men who fought and died to keep this nation intact. The blood of the fallen are in that flag, and your disrepecting the sacrafice every American service man has made to defend it.

Heres a check list for you

1. No more insulting vietnam vets tortured by the NVA for six years by spreading rumours about an illegitimate black child

2. No more attacking the patrioism of triple amuptee vet by running ads comparing him to osama bin laden

3. No more calling ex-marines cowards by people whom never served, never saw combat and never saw death.

4. No more making fake purple hearts and parading around in them. Its an insult to every single veteran whom ever was wounded in action.

and you worry about flags being flown upsidedown by an Iraq veteran.

You used slaves. You are the villains.

so did George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams. does that make them villians as well?

One thing everyone forgets is by the Civil War only the wealthy southerns had slaves. Most of the south tended there own lands by this point. But that fact is conviently forgot again to villianize the south.

It makes them all morally repugnant in my eyes.

well if there to uphold popular opion, when have the American people ever condoned or supported the burning a flag. You just proved my point the Supreme court went agasint the popular view for there own means to appease a minority that actully has no say on national laws because they are not in the Majority

The public may hate it. But the government cannot prosecute it.

Slavery was illegal in most if not all Northern states by the time of the Civil War, IIRC.

Only in the House of Representatives.

What do you think the Civil War was actully about, it wasnt about slavery, the south put that on us to villianize the south, and that villiany continues today.
Nope, it was about slavery. All reasons go back to slavery.

Yes, and the problem of slavery in those western territories.

The fundemental changed incurred to the southern states because of other laws passed which helped the north but hurt the south tremendusly
Due to the use of slavery.

The south was being bleed dry by the south, and we fought for our freedom from the opression and look what it got us. Turned into Villians when we where the true patriots and we southerns still are.

No, you're traitors, always were, always will be. If you fight against the United States, you've committed treason. If you fight for slavery and against fundamental human rights, you're not patriotic.

so did George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams. does that make them villians as well?
They hated slavery, even though they had to use it.

those topics wernt touched on but i feel the same way about those as well that I do about the flag. It is classified as hate speech in my book which guess what is a crime.

The South committed treason for the purpose of trying to keep slavery. It doesn't get more villainous than that.

you sir are ignorant, and i suspect never actully bothered to look at the southern histroy leading up to the Civil War. Remember we fired the first shot. Slavery wasnt outlawed till after we declared war, so please try agian

Hate speech is unconstitutional; it's only in specific situations (harassment of other people, thread of violence is imminent, etc) that its illegality is allowed, and they're not specific to hate based stuff.

wait...

candle, which flag are you talking about? The flag of the USA, or the stars and bars?

Because I'd find it really hilarious for a racist, pro-slavery, anti-constitution traitor to be supporting the flag of the nation that beat his rebellious people back into submission and forced them to act like decent humans.

The South committed treason for the purpose of trying to keep slavery. It doesn't get more villainous than that.

how hard is it to figure out, it wasnt agasint the law, when we opened fire. It was being discussed but it would have continued into the 20th century if not for the Civil War. Abram Lincon used it to condone the war. It was not a reason behind it, and that is something you must understand. And you want to know why following there was racial hatred. How about the fact when the north abolished slavery the slaves where given state funds and given state lands on the frointier or given a small house in a city. After the Civil War our farms where taken and given to the slaves, or we had to pay from our own pockets usally meaning selling the land anyway, no state or national funds here. Other times the land would be given partially to the slaves, instead of relocating them like in the north as well. What the North did was take away our land, or livly hood and give it to those we viewed as our servants and then gave them domain over us during reconstruction. Thats why the racism started entirly.

But the war was never about slavery untill the south said so. I find your lack of proper education on the Civil War very sad
