Turn 13
Incidents
Part of Hungary has revolted against Austria - the revolt is Catholic in nature.
Finns have revolted against Novgorod, desiring independence.
Events
Na-Na-Nine had a botched meeting, losing 3 relations with the Qin for 10 turns.
Ormus had an economic boom, and will collect 23, rather than 21, income.
Takrur had a riot in Gambia.
Astrakhan had a settler rush, and so can claim one more province.
Patagonia had a border dispute with Argentina. Argentina is protected by Amazon by merit of being a vassal, so no war will happen.
Succession
The Shah of Persia has died without a successor. His throne passes to Astrakhan. Hedjaz contests the succession, saying that, as the first royal partners of the Persians, they should have the throne instead. Persia will now split into pro-Astrakhan and pro-Hedjaz factions. Every one of Persia's provinces has a 45% chance of supporting Hedjaz. 22 provinces of Persia's 37 rally to support Hedjaz. Who shall win? Time will tell.
Astrakhan has 37 provinces, whereas Hedjaz has 44. The war is too close to tell. Astrakhan Persia has 2 armies, but Hedjaz adds one of Persia's current armies to its own. Hedjaz will collect its part of Persia's income.

Announcements:
A new feature has been introduced, as you can see on the stats - Spies. These are very simple and won't add much complexity. It's easy: Each spy costs 10 gold to recruit and 1 gold per turn to maintain. You can send any number of your spies on a mission, and each spy will add +5% to the chance of success. If the mission is successful, the spy will upgrade their skill, while if it fails or is discovered, the spy has a 50% chance of dying.
Every spy starts at level 0, and can work their way up to level 5. You will know how much of each spy type you have based on the column.
Every level adds +5% to their chance of success(so a level 5 spy on their own adds +30% chance!) and +5% to their chance of escaping discovery(so, again, +30%) and also has 5% extra chance of escaping if discovered or failing, meaning their chance of death is 25% if it's a level 5 spy.
Accordingly, a new mission has been introduced - Assassination. You can kill rival spies. The base chance of success is 50%, subtracting 5% based on the skill of the target - 50% to kill a level 0, 25% to kill a Level 5.
No matter how many spies you send on a mission, you will always have a 20% chance of failure and a 10% chance of discovery. Feel free to ask - via PM of course - what the exact chances of failure/discovery are on a mission.
----
On personal unions - Now that we have a personal union, we need to detail how they end. It's easy. Every turn, there's a 10% chance of the senior partner dying. If they die, there's a 20% chance of the union ending and the country regaining independence.
