Medieval European Mod II 2016-10-05

ED & YP:
After I am finished playing my first go-round with your mod, I would like to use it as the scaffolding for a couple scenarios I have been noodling around in my noggin. Would that be permissable?

@Rommel: The bottom picture is great, with Sparta cut into the corner like that :D

Thanks, I was afraid nobody would notice that considering it's kind of obscurely placed...but then again, there's usually a bunch of statistical info there so I guess it was noticeable afterall.

I like the beautifull letters he used

Yeah, I'm pretty content with the way the font turned out...and to think I made that effect up on the spot. :D

I think I'll be starting another game simultaneously, this time, however, as either Italy or the Almohads, maybe even the Fatimids. Then again, the Cordovans might prove insteresting as well...so many choices, so little time.

@ Kumquat......how did the moderators let you in with that name? welcome btw.

What is wrong with kumquat :confused: ... you sir have a sick mind :lol: The kumquat is a fruit. I suppose you would erupt in a fit of giggles if someone told you there name was Dick Cummings :rolleyes:

I've having a go with Serbia at the moment, and i have just "assimilated" the venetians into my modest empire, but they hadnt built "venetian republic" yet :(, so no vassals for me at the moment...

EDIT: I know i would :D

EDIT 2: Do you think that there are any sports clubs in Venice that call themselves the Venetian Blinds? :lol:

Couple of minor pedia entry errors to report:

i. slight typo under the Hierocracy government entry leading to a missing 'war weariness' hyperlink;
ii. Serbia's religion is, I presume, Christianity instead of Mythology as currently detailed under their tribe entry.

iii.In the cotton entry under where it can be found it say "hillss"

Maybe sewers could be used as aqueducts if the is no water in the cities radius?

Thanks for the pedia corrections. :)

And nice to see the mod in retro V's sig. ;)

It is on purpose that cities with no fresh water in their city radius will never be able to grow beyond six. It simulates that not all cities were very big in the middle ages, and it adds to gameplay, especially on the Europe map, where the Tartars, Rus, Novgorods, Khazars will often have quite a few small cities, in their usually big empires.

I never said it was a bad thing :P, I like it cos its different a breaks the monotony a little. Like I am so used to doing things a certain way and then ya change mods and ya whole stratagy gets messed up. Its fun! and challanging, I still havnt got used to walking over mountains yet...

I know it just bothers me a little because I am a builder;) I just have to get used to it thats all. I have a question, I am the king of England and Scotland if I change out of constitutional monarchy do I lose their benefits :confused: I also have to say I am quite amused with the science adviser...almost reminds me of the old High Council from Civ II :D Oh have you guys thought about a Tanner city improvement?

Yes you lose the benifits of a kingdom if you change to another goverment. This way you are more challenged to not get stuck on the same goverment in each game, giving more variety in your gameplay.

After what he told me, ED had quite a time writing all the science advisor comments.

I'm not sure we need a tanner improvement, we won't add anything unless it also adds to the gameplay.

@Azmorg & Gen. Rommel
Thanks for the write ups, they're awesome :D
As a side note, Reichstag needs a different splash, the Emperor's crown isn't very fitting, but the name today is associated with the Reichstag building so it's hard to find something. I'm also convinced about German's colour now!

As my former prime minister would say, "yes, yes, yes!" ;) Lets just try to avoid overlapping (atm YP is working on Hundred Years War and a crusader states scenario, and I'm trying to put together a non-themed snapshot of 11th and 13th centuries on the main map).

A map seems like a bad idea to me as in this the HRE isn't neccessarily Germany

It was for Reichstag though, not Holy Roman Empire wonder. Reichstag is a small wonder for Germans only.

The Prince-electors picture linked is nice but Treaty of Muenster is from 17th century. The map, however, is a very good idea!

Same! i keep thinking "damn, i have to go all the way around" or "great, they can only attack through this narrow pass".

In my current Serbia game, i now control the balkans (minus bulgaria), italy and sicily and have now made a counter attack into southern france which is actually burgandy. Italy made a military alliance against me with sicily, then crumbled like a Scotch Finger biscuit under trebuchet barrages and knight charges.

Now i have two unusable vassals in Italy and Sicily (cos im in an Empire, not Feudalism or whatever you need) and two of the vassals available to Empire (venice and byzantines) i conquered before they had built their "Kingdom" wonders, so i cant use 'em. Not happy Jan
