I applied the 2.3a DLL, and that fixed my problem with Ironworking (CTD the turn I finished researching Ironworking). I have reached the point where my game crashes due to a memory allocation error every 4-5 turns. Up until 2152, I simply saved my game every 2 turns. Once I hit 2152, however, the memory allocation error pops up whenever I save the game, or the game attempts to auto-save. What can I do to mitigate this? Would reducing my screen resolution and/or turning off efffects help?
There is a way to play world map scenario with all leaders available?
Don't think there are ways of reducing MAF crashing of an ongoing game, since it's a function of savegame size, and you can't realistically reduce it (you could, of course, go into WorldBuilder and delete something insignificant, but that's about it). Have you applied the classical anti-MAF stuff? (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=225205) If yes, the more free memory you have the better, so try to remove background programs and stuff; if not, that's your answer (and until you do, more memory doesn't help you).
I modified my warlords.exe file. I have Windows XP Home Edition and Vista Ultimate (64 bit) on my PC. Even though I wasn't able to apply the XP modifications, it ran great under Vista. In fact, it was much more responsive after the tweak.
Thanks for posting that link about the anti-MAF stuff.

I am playing Japanese, and have built a few light tanks. I have run into some interesting problems with them, though:
1) When the game cycles to a light tank, from another unit, my light tanks have the button options of the previous unit. The following turn, the first unit selected was one of my light tanks, but this time it had no option buttons at all!
2) When I built a new light tank in one of my cities, and switched to the city's build queue, the city details screen did not go away when I hit the 'escape' button.
I am playing this game in my Windows 32 Home setup. Could this be related to the MAF issues I was having earlier?
I will copy this savefile over to my Vista boot disk, and test this on Vista 64. If the results change, I will update this post.
Hey Gang, Hope all of you had a great holiday season, and all the best in the new year!!
Well it seams like my old friend the MAF crash is back, and on a new computerr? So maybe someone here has had the same thing happen, and have fixed it.
Starting, I have a brand new Dell laptop - Precision M6400 - 4 gigs ram - Intel core 2 duo at T9600 @ 2.80Ghz - running Vista business w/service pack 1.
I have used the CFF explorer to change the .exe to use 2 gigs of ram, and also used this line in a command prompt - bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVA 3072.
So far I can get to about turn 700 and everything shuts down. I even allocated 10000 mb in my virtual mem. Still getting crashes. I tried to change the .dll, but I am not 100% sure where to put the new one? Is in the realsim mod assets?
If anybody has any advice, please feel free... Wanna try to take over the world....
Thanx for listening to this little rant (LOL)
Is there a limit to the amount of XP a military unit can earn? I have had a unit in my current game reach 100 XP, but it hasn't earned any XP since.
