[mod] Warlords: Total Realism 2.3a

Blithe.

Just checking, but you need to access the Assets folder via My Computer and not My documents.

Path is:

My Computer - Local disk (C: ) (Usually)

Then:

Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Warlords\Assets

Thank you Walter and Harrier for your help.

I have copied the dll to the place as described and my CTD's ceased. I honestly don't know why or how it happened because I am %100 sure that I copied the dll to the same place in my previous 3 attempts.

Since then I have encountered only 1 MAF and sometimes the graphics going black gradually. It's like first the light that is reflected from the units gone dark, then the shadows gone completely dark, and then most of the unit, city and improvement graphics gone dark. But its not bothering me. I'm happy to continue my game. I just restart the game every now and then and the graphics problems resolves.

By the way, I think the CTD's were related to Bronze Workshop building in the first place. In my previous saves playing other civs, I had encountered CTD's about the same time when I try to build several Bronze Workshops in several cities at the same time. When the last time I tried the dll and it worked, I realize that the bronze workshops that were being bult were all gone. I built only one in one city and after a while it also disappeared and now I see the Bronze Workshop option in the building list in my cities again, including in the city that I've built the BW. But, when I check the resources list, I can see my supply of bronze, so somehow I got over the bronze issue.

The game is stable at the moment but if CTD's start again, I'm thinking of copying the same dll to the designated place to try to overcome the issue.

I still think the TR v2.3 is a great mod to play, way much better than original vanilla, Warlords and BTS despite the obvious problems. It is really fun.

Thanks again guys for the mod and the support. :goodjob:

Hi,

Thx. :) That's our goal to have a fun mod.

Wait a bit, we are finishing the last (but not least) Warlords version.
Houman, Walter, Trojan Sheep and me are adding, changing, updating to have a good and fun playable TR Warlords.

Have fun.

Hian,

Eagerly waiting for the new version. Keep up the good work and i hope you guys would also work in the new version of Civilization in the future.

My dream would be one day some one in the Civ development team would find the solution to play Civ stable and fast in bigger maps, ~200*150. Maybe you would be the ones that make this dream come true :)

Take care guys, keep up the good work!

Cheers! :)

Using latest dll.

Tried playing the game at the fastest setting (x5) for the first time. After prolonged wars the War Weariness became extremely high compared to games at the normal game speed. Some cities had +40 War Weariness with populations of only 10 to 15. (Killer !)

Played the game at same settings (except for speed) and same style as before.

Has this been altered at all ?

I don't believe it is specifically toggleable anywhere. Basically, you're just fighting a war that is five times more "prolonged" than usual.

Playing it I just can say shortly : the best ever created mod for civs !

Hi,

Just want to let you guys know that i have been playing this mod with the latest fixed dll for quite some time now, and also multiplayer over a LAN (direct ip connection) and it is simply the best mod ever!

I do have an occasional hang (have to end-task the game in this case), but it is never reproducible. It is totally random. I do have autosave set to each turn now because of this, but it doesn't occur that much so i don't let that one spoil my mood, i am just fully enjoying this mod :)

Thank you again for your efforts in creating this mod!
And the fixed dll is awesome :goodjob:

Hey! I searched around and did'nt know where to post so I try here!
I have always played TR and are a devoted fan!
Just got over to clean install of verison 2.3a now that I just got a new high-end laptop with windows vista 64.
I have also installed the latest dll patch, that I found a few pages back.

I play multiplayer hotseat with my self, and I love it! Much better than playing against AI! to the point:
I just recently got my first warlord attached to a single chariot( one egypt and one mali), giving 20 exp, and then when I reach 37+exp(level 7) i dont get any new promotion up, even thou the exp continues to grow. Is this a bug, or is it a limitation on level of this early unit?

I also get unpredictable CTD's now and then, usually when I go out of menu, or press enter when a recently finnish unit is marked.
I also had MAF's but thoose I have just fixed.

Can you please give me some advice, or if anyone else has the same problems?

Thx in andvance!:)

I believe you might have hit a rare bug - if you maxed out unit's withdrawal chances, it can stop levelling up. There is nothing yet we could do to fix it, but when you're aware of it, it is easier to avoid.

Of course, there is also a case of limited experience from barbarians, but IIRC it's capped at 100.

Hi, I have recently bought the Civ 4 Complete. I've never used mods before, so this was gonna be my first try with Total Realism. However, after downloading and running the the setup "Total Realism-Setup-2.1.exe" an error message appears saying "Civilization 4 not found. Unable to get install path". Yes, I'm a bit of a noob at this but I love the game. What am I doing wrong?
I have searched the forums and some other guy had similar problems. He managed to do something however by manually pointing the installer to the mod folder or something. I don't know how to do that. I just wanna play this mod!! It sounds awesome! Please help!

2.1 is a version from long, long ago. Try this one and see if it works!

Well, hello there, I got the civ 4 way back when, and then went and got warlords after it came out. I never got BTS. So, then i put on TR 2.3 and a couple days later I got 2.3a and the dll file into the asset folder on C drive in the right spot. I've two 2Gig strips, but windows xp only says 3.15 or such , it's 2.66 GHz only 32 bit OS, and I've yet to finish a game due to CTD. I'm almost ready to buy a new computer just for this mod, :P only money doesn't grow on trees, (psst, put that on the mod to save the forests) and I'm not a programmer to go and edit any files, I'd really hate to totally screw myself over doing that.

but now I am so spoiled I can't play the regular warlords anymore, sigh. I hope I just forgot some small thing, I can usually get to around the merchant sailing ship era give or take, and map size doesn't seem to matter, a huge one can sometimes last longer than the standard one.

my wife raises her eye brows when I mention a new computer, any help??

one other thing what is the file size exactly of the dll? when I go to extract it it seems to be 5,414,912 but when I look to see the actual file once finished it's 5,288 KB

((update, I went ahead and renamed the dll file to .bac and reinstalled the dll file mentioned on the prior page, even though the replacement method didn't work, I did a 'remove' and redo and now it seems to work, (at least for a dozen turns) so I'm not sure what did happen, I seem to be better off for it))

So far so good, it seemed to really work to remove the old dll and put it in all over instead of replacing it, ^_^, the only problem left is do I trust Stalin, Hitler is already a dirty guy, and his bud Bennito isn't to be trusted either, lol,

Well, I'm doing a standard sized one, and I'm into the railroad era with a file size of 626K , ahhh, how sweet it is, for some reason standard size seems really huge with a nice long game still ahead of me,

Do you think that a lower res graphic will help go to a huge map so I can play earth? I hate to get down the road on that one only not to be able to complete it.
