@soul warrior, I would rather DBear takes this next as he hasn't played yet. Having said that he hasn't posted anything for 6 days. If you can definitely get some turns played tonight then go ahead, then DBear can take it afterwards. I want to try and keep this game moving.

@Formula51, we only have 4 players on the roster so hopefully this will get back to your turn by the weekend anyway.

pre turn - do nothing. all seems to build nicely. babs and hitties still want to spend thier money on military. see if i care :D

turn 1
- Veii - barracks > legion. growth in 3. next will settler.
- wake legionary taking a nap beside cumae. move it toward its archer friend.
- catapult goes to join sleepy legion.
- Ravenna worker roads wheat.
- settler near Veii is sent SE to go deep south. we have some escorts there, and in the mean time is on friendly turf.
- Rome keeps pumping legions, sending them north.
- worker to mine Antium gems. will grow in 3.

turn 2
we got declared on by the Frogs and the Yanks. we now have a 4 front war. time to pacify somebody.
were at our first World War.

hittites want Philo, Babs want 180g, so no threat imminent, no deals.
- road woods out of rome. continue road to Pisae.

turn 3
- Pisae completes worker > catapult. worker to road S to Hiaspolis.

turn 4
- Inca demand CoL. as we dont want war or our GA just now, i give. i will take it back later.
- Ravenna worker roads to Hiaspolis

turn 5
- Hittites land a sword on Inca land, near lake barrier. heavy war clouds are brewing.
- build Viroconium. set for worker in 10.
- move 1 worker to chop near Cumae shores. we need that legion fast + future irrigation for growth

turn 6
- got Rep.
- lose our first warrior to a hitt sword, right on our land blockade.

as this is a crucial time, am i am lacking time, here is the save.
this turn is fresh - all i did is set Sci to Max (90%) for Lit in 7. we might want to revolt, but first we need peace with the hitties.
please. no GA just yet.

what should our imediate future look like?
that hittite sword isnt a clear and present danger, but being dogpiled is not my best of passtimes.
as i see it we have a few options:
A) continue the war
if we choose to continue our war, we should think about our GA and Goverment. we just got Rep, and getting there should be our first priority. OTH, we really dont want an anarchy GA, do we?
if we still go for war... switch prod to archers, to delay GA?
B) stop the war
as the incan are the only ones not at war, and our immediate nieghbours, we should keep them docile.
maybe we should make hittites and babs wreck thier rep by iving in to thier demands for peace? 180g + philosophy. then we could ally americans and french against them?
some cunning diplo is needed now, which is not my forte :(

so what are your thoughts? near future (upto next 20 turns) distant future? who should be our nxt objective?

i think we should consult before playing ahead.

Seriously though, we should really avoid a despotism/anarchy GA, so I think we need to sign peace, get to Republic and then go after the Incans with our Legions. ;)
 
I'm back in action. :)

If we have any legions, keep them away from the frontlines, until we get republic. Whoever's up next, build some legion SoD's.

Legion attacks Vilcabamba and dies. The second wins and it is auto-razed. It just built a settler and I didn't want to wait 10 turns for it to grow. 3 slaves captured.

Notes:

The settler N of Rome in the stack is ready to settle next turn. The stack can then move E.

Antium is undefended to attract Incan units out of the mountains.

Rome is MM'ed for Legion in 1. Switch to grass next turn to resume growth.

Literature in 2.

Unit support is 60gpt.

The American warrior will take the undefended Neapolis next turn if we don't act. We need to sign peace with them. I didn't do anything as it is bad form to make deals on the last turn of a SG.
I didn't get peace earlier as I was hoping someone would pick up Currency first, but they haven't.

Suggested peace deal sequence:

Hittites: Peace + Construction + 243g for Republic
America: Peace + Monarchy + 63g for Republic
France: Peace + 40g
Babylon: They are too far away. No need for a peace deal.

Or you could try to use gold to get peace instead of giving away the Republic.

Once we kill the Incan surplus units, our Legions should walk all over them. That war should last at least the rest of our GA. Hopefully we can get a few cities in that time.

0) 30BC: Buy off the Americans for 140 gold. No reason to get monarchy if we have republic. Trade Repub to Hittites for peace, construct, 243. Lower science to 30%. Worker starts chopping forest near Viroconium.

1) 10BC: Veii riots, shift worker to scientist. Incan chasqui takes Antium, 69 gold. I think we forgot that Chasquis ignore hills. Antium easily retaken. Byzantium built on ruins, starts barracks. Leave archer and catapult, rest head e to mountain nw of Andahuaylas. 2 archers from Antium move n. Legion kills sword near Tiwanaku. Pompeii switches to legion, moves warrior to Neapolis. Cat crosses river heading to Antium. 2 archers ascend mountain near Vitcos. Science minimize, as we get Lit next turn.

2) 10AD: We get lit, start currency. Rome switched to GL. Veii starts lib. Hispalis starts legion. Upgrade warrior to legion in Neapolis. 4 vet legions attack Andahuaylas. 2 die, 1 wins, last one wins, goes leet, takes Andahuaylas. Pisae changed to barracks. 2 more warriors upgrade to legions. Buy barracks at Viroconium. Turn science up to 50%. Open an embassy to America--they get the Lighthouse next turn. Open embassies to France and Hittites as well.

3) 30: Archer near Vitcos kills archer, is killed. Legion near Tiwanaku kills sword. Resistance in Andahuaylas crushed. Pisa and Hispalis rush barracks. Legion in Tiwanaku fails to kill spear. Workers start roading to Lugdunum and Lutetia.

4) 50: Archer killed near Andahuaylas. Legions killed at Tiwanaku. Will have to retreat. Legion kills archer, moves cat in. Archer tries to kill archer between Anda and Antium, fails. Turn up lux for riots.

5) 70: Cuzco builds Great wall. Keep building legions.

6) 90: Lutetia starts barracks. Legion kills spear in MP. Workers move s of Lugdunum to clear jungle. Bump up science to get currency in one.

7) 110: Get currency, start feud. Byzantium starts legion, Pompeii starts library, Veii starts settler. Attack on Macchu bogs down. One legion dies, other is redlined.

8) 130: Legion killed outside Macchu, cat lost.

9) 150: Legion redlined killing sword near Tiwanaku.

10) 170: We take Tiwanaku. Legion kills archer near archer. Americans built St. Louis on southern peninsula. Veii builds settler, was going to head down there. Leet legion kills archer near Anda, gets redlined. I'm trying to get a leader, but it isn't happening.

Tiwanaku will probably be retaken next turn, try to send reinforcements in. Very disappointed I didn't get a leader by now.
 
Looking good. The Legions weren't as powerful as I thought they should be though. We are also having a lot of trouble with WW. It may be time to sign peace with the Incans and build some infrastructure.

We can get Vitcos + a worker + 5g for peace. I think this is a good deal.

Even if we sign peace I think we will lose Tiawanuku to a flip anyway. It has a 14.1% chance and needs 120!!! units to prevent it. I think we should leave 1 archer in there to hopefully quell a resister then starve it down. I'm not too worried about losing an archer to a flip.
