Multipolarity IV Signup Thread

On the chance Light resigns I have devised 3 new possible NPCs to be set up in place.

Player Nation Government Leader Title Leader Stand down by election? Simply Figurelead?
Nwabudike Morgan Ōpūnui Incorporated States (Hawaii) Company Owned Democracy CEO Peni Ōpūnui Y N
M Kingdom of New Guinea Constitutional Monarchy Queen Nikinu N Y
Robert Mugabe Republic of the Philippines Kleptocracy President Albert Quibuyen N>Y N

The ICJ has given its customary seal of approval to the UN’s most recent elections.

“The International Court of Justice has reviewed the most recent Secretariat election, and all judges hereby give their solemn oath that the results are both fair and in line with the Union’s charter.”

Marius Vang (Iceland-Norway; Age 50)
Jengo Afolayan (Kenya; age 35)
Sergio Santana (Amazon; Age 57)
Nikita Bogomolov (Ryazan; Age 56)
Vibol Soun (Burma; Age 75)

The dictator confers most sincere congratulations on Sigmund Bertram of the Leth Confederacy and promises Tayloristan's cooperation in UN affairs. We'll win next time.

Mikhail Smirnov, and Alexei Ivanov would like to personally congratulate Sigmund Bartram on his victory in the UN, may the Leth lead the world to cooperation, prosperity, and unity, while continuing to keep national sovereignty of course.

Yeah, dropping. Have fun in your messed-up IOT.

The whole mess with NPCs and the NPCGM totally ruined my enjoyment. I fully agree with Sonereal that NPCs should be just some blank space with a military, instead of with individualistic personalities. I also state that NPCs in and of themselves are overdone and we need to go back to a no-NPC era.

I will not be joining any further games that feature an NPCGM unless I am drastically proven wrong about how pathetic the concept is, as defined by me. Tani's decision to add Thorvald as one in MP2 was the kicker as to my withdrawal there, and Ailed as one here has solidified my decision.

I also(As much as I really like the guy, don't get me wrong, he's cool) am appalled by Tani's "democratic" approach to the game. The GM's authority is absolute, and there's no room for votes because that undermines his authority. Adding a second GM, not to harp on that subject, further undermines things by dividing who the players look to for verdicts on subjects. The answer is always the prime GM, hence the NPCGM position is also redundant because it has no authority in a properly-run game.

That's my 2 cents. Ignore them if you want, but this series tanked after MP1 precisely because of stupid decisions like those that have plagued this thread: dumb player nations, lack of immersion, NPCGMs, crazy NPCs, a "soft" GM, no central authority, player confusion, steadily less sensible spending rules and economic modifiers . . . I would rather play an MP1 clone, with all the issues it had, than any of the 4 sequels.

So yeah. Rant over. So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Cape Verde declares war on LH because he drops out alot. Also the Great Absolute Proletarian Monarch of Cape Verde his holiness that controls all Multiverses, the Great TeraEmperor of the Universe and MegaKing of the solar system Nedim I invites him to SonIOT chat.

Oh great, we have elected abominations as the leaders of the world. Why couldn't an actual candidate win?

The Leth Confederacy would like to thank some of the nations for their support of the new secretary general, and hope this leads to greater cooperation in the future.

My country is ruled by a council of equal archmages and a floating head guy.

OOC: I like how Ail wants the NPC's to have personality but he criticized me when I gave personalities to my NPC's and said that the game was only for the players.

Have a nice day Light!

I am doing pictures of the leaders to help with the diplomacy, as well as to give clue on the players that are setting out well and those who self insert themselves. You can tell especially by the images when they are done.

OOC: you do realise that the game you were on about was a game which was set out not like MP, instead set on a rush against a certain style of NPCs, while at the same time management of your NPCs was questionable with the threats to use nukes AKA breaking the realist lesson on nuclear weapons? Also that game was a mess: it was how the NPCs were set, especially as the NPCs here are minors. Plus your personalities were "WE WILL NUKE YOU!" style of aggression. It was not criticising you for personalising them but how you did it and how you set it out that was not defined clear and went counter to what appeared to be the focal of the game: a war against drones, as oppose to beaten humans as what NPCs threatened over. It was alas the players that set the flames but that is still consideration of how messy that game was on the nuclear front. That said the game was enjoyable and I do confess of setting Rebecca Normand (the later of my two leaders in the game) to be referenced as the name of the leader in East Australia.

Amigos, we're having NPCs as a final decision. May I politely request we not make any more of an issue of this? :p

I agree. Considering we have two nations of animal-human hybrids, stormtroopers, and magicians as the PCs, I doubt we're going for realism as it is.

Also a Republic that worships freaking kitchens and noodles.

Note: I will begin doing the NPC responses tomorrow due to tiredness. When I do I will set with considerations.
