The camel force sent after Chinese cannons fully expected this to be their last mission and awaited Chinese attack so they would get to Heaven and their 72 virgins. However, the Chinese instead decided to encircle them and wait until they starve to death. A relief force from the capital attacked the scarce encirclement of cavalry and managed to surprise and kill them. The veterans who destroyed the Chinese batteries managed to flee in the chaos the relief unit created and returned to the capital as heroes. Thier stories improved the morale of the defenders and now their general attitude is "let them come!".
