Yer GG Super Units tend to become stack deffenders by nature of there Superness. This means I get nerveous of them and they are wasted by being retired from the field or only used to mop up. Still can be fun occationally!

Anyway... Finally I get to play a my second set! Objectives? Take Guimaraes and march on to Lisbon.

Not much to do, I like the "settle the GG at Helio" idea so move our Great General over there.
We have a fairly decent stack near guimaraes but I'm going to wait for a couple more troops, 50% defense plus its on a hill! We have a wounded mini stack 1 SW, I move them into to the main stack so they can benefit from the super medic's super healing powers.

Back at Guimaraes... With our stack healed I leave a spear & axe to garrison the city and move all the other troops toward the capital of portugal.

The stack moves onto Joao's Copper mine to pillage next turn and we get a look at the troops inside the capital.
Notice how Joao's kindly moved his Horsearchers out into the open for us to pick off.

Joao horse archers move towards our territory and promptly get picked off by a spear & a warchariot, pillaged the copper & moved the stack into the forrested hill next to Lisbon.
This is were I end my set.
Summary
So weve got our dotted gem city, Guimaraes, It was actually quite tough to take and I suicided a few troops to get it, hence the reason I've been primarily building units this set. Apologies for using the Super medic to attack, that was just reckless really.
We have a good sized stack at Lisbon, which has more troops than Gui had but is not on a hill. There are more troops moving towards Gui... archers to relieve the Axe & Spear garrisoning the city... and a warchariot, axe and cat on the way too, so its up to you whether you think the city is takeable or if you want to wait for reinforcements.
I didn't start HE during this set as I think that still needs to be discussed where were putting it. Personally I'd rather put ironworks in the capital and maybe put HE in Helio, which by the way needs a lighthouse to take advantage of the Moai Statues weve just built there!
We have a great person due next turn from thebes, most probably a scientist.
I feel I havn't played this set to best of my ability, I can't believe a week off from playing civ and I feel I need to drop a couple of levels!
