NES World/Regional Maps Requests Thread

@Das- Tungus, as I said, is outdated. The term was spread by Russians who aquired it from the Yakuts and Siberian Tartars, the Evenks themselves tend to find it offensive. Evenk, the most common self applied name, became offical usage in 1931 repalcing Tungus. Tungus (or, rather, Tungusic) is still applicable when speaking about the language family which includes the Evenki language, formerly called Tungus which is considered among linguists, just like ethnologists and historians, to be obsolete.

Also, is there anything in particular you don't like about the map?

Well, the rampant color changes are disconcerting. The city and fortification style is, as you have recognized, very different from das'. It's just not what I'm used to when I look at an ITNES map.

Source? In any case, I'm still sticking with Tungus. As for the rest, I still agree with NK. :p

After fiddling around I finally figured out how to make the colors match exactly (yes, I am an idiot with computers). Here is the map with das colors. The only change I made to das's colors is in Egypt, where the yellow makes it impossible to see which cities are capitals. As such, I slightly darkened the yellow, just enough to make the capitals visible.

Technically when I get around to restarting ITNES I, I will make a map of my own anyway, not to mention that I will be making it for at the very least two centuries into the future (that is, into the future as compared to the point where we left it the last time). Still, this will help build up interest for it, plus it could prove helpful when I do begin working on my map, so thanks. ;)

I dislike that dark blue, and I always hated the "BSoD Blue" I was given, just never expected das to change it if I asked. Now this I could get behind:

That color actually fits into the region, I think. Anyway, the borders don't bug me much, and regarding the border with Kalinga, there's a ridge of mountains to the east of the Irrawaddy along generally the Sittang River that I based the line on.

And yes, there were massive fortifications along the border with China, why they were never put on the map, I don't know. I also think it's hilarious that they weren't displayed but a couple of temporary trenches by the Ganges I dug way back during the war with Kalinga in IT II were still there like 300 years later.

Fortifications just last a long time in Kalinga. I expect the capital of Deccania to be completely impenetrable, btw. :smug:

Despite the fact that my troops simply charged the walls with elephants and horsemen and won, if you believed my story word for word...

If somebody could get me a map of the world (on Symphony D.'s awesome World map preferably oro n the Jason) in 1700-1703 that would be great. No I am not abandoning ICNES II. This is for a project outside Civfanatics. I need a reference and this seems like the best place to go.

@ Sym: w00t! Star Wars FTW!

Another project for someone with time: could someone get me a Jason map or Symphony map version of OTL borders in the year 1933?

Panda, hurry up please. I have several WWI/early 20th century ideas, one of which I intend to write up next.

Why thank you. That really is quite a compliment.

And/or being honest about my map making abilities :D

nah yours is bed wettingly good.

Not that I've done that, wet the bed that is.

Random Complaint: OH MY GOD THE MOSQUITO ADVERT IS DRIVING ME UP THE WALL.

The rest of the post wasn't much better, really. ;)

Don't make me blackmail you again, Panda. :p I'd like a confirmation, at least.

I'm on 450 CE, das. Given my average of a map per week... You can expect 1914 around Christmas time. :p
