Lord_Herobrine

Today's fishing is not so good; it seems the most gullible fish have already met their end at your hands. But you manage to spear a couple of fish to roast by a fire during the afternoon. It is then you hear the death-squeal of a young boar nearby, and you notice another – human? - standing a little to the north. You acknowledge each other's presence, but he eventually backs away. You feel new emotions stirring. But with your injured legs, your instinct is to stay put. As night falls, you see fire and smoke in the north, and you know he is still nearby.

You climb a tree for protection during the night, and sleep somewhat uncomfortably. But you have managed to rest your legs during the day, and due to your hardy nature, the wounds have mostly healed already. You awake with 3AP.

Lord_Herobrine

-Spend the early morning gathering scales and fish bones from my past catches, along with feathers if they are around. Make a pair of necklaces out of the materials, one for myself and one for the stranger.(1AP)

-Walk up to the place I saw the stranger's fire last night. Offer him one of the necklaces, if he's not there just leave it near his stuff. If he is there, and he accepts the gift, try to act in a friendly nature. (1AP)

-Head back to my camp, spear in hand and on the lookout. Relight the campfire, and climb back up into the tree for the night, always wary of what lurks in the night, and sleep. (1AP)

- Great update!

- J.K.Stockholme feeds on naivity. :mwaha:

@tuxedohamm, before I actually make orders this update, I wish to share with you my plans: I plan to first Forage food to gift to you, and then Rest in the tree to hopefully sustain my AP. :)

I WILL kill myself (er... pixelated dude) before this becomes a reality. :p

Actually...

Nintz

1. Fish more. Eat more. Get attacked more.
2. Sleep if I survive. (somehow)

Arrow Gamer: Why can I not joke? :(

Nintz: I seriously believe it would be interesting to see a couple gaying it up, at least platonically until a woman shows up. I'm not trying to mock you or anything, if you find me offensive, just ignore me - I'm not trying to offend you in any way. :)

You guys don't need to be gay, to join forces against the brutality of nature. Just sayin' :)

And it will be a beautiful bromance.

Sounds fine. We are in need of tools/weapons and the closest rocks are back to the north. I can either run up there and back to get some stones, or we can try to move up there. Alternately, I can try to break more limbs/branches off and make a rough shelter. Or, try to weave some clothes. Either way, I need 1 AP to meditate, mostly because I figure I can only get better at it through constant practice.

Patchy:

1 AP travel north
1 AP hunt for food
1 AP sleep on mattress

Guys, do you want more AP by default, so you can do more stuff each turn? Or keep it as is?

Currently, because it is difficult just to survive, I imagine it will be all the more rewarding (and fun) when players eventually do end up with a village and a farm, or a character equipped with all kinds of weapons and armour etc. BUT: I may have underestimated how many turns it would take for things to develop. I also underestimated how players would tend to stay put, and not try to find each other straight away to team up.

Interested to hear your thoughts on that!

Also, regarding how long this NES can last. My record is a bit hit-and-miss, but I've run a couple of NESes into turn #20, and NESLife3 had over 30 updates. I'm feeling good about this NES so far, and think I could go as far, as we have one player = one character and thus the workload should not increase exponentially (famous last words).

Is it too late to join?

Not at all! There is a queue forming, however... Feel free to create a character, and I can PM you as and when you make it into the game.

Woo, I'm next.

Personally, I like the way the AP is setup right now. I feel that as we get together into villages/tribes, more luxuries will be made available which will gradually increase AP available each day.

Also, I think it would be great (As kind of an ironic stand point) to have a village become a ghost town due to some thing, then have the second generation of settlers in that region take up residence in that same village. This would an very amusing layer of irony and entertainment.

EDIT: Also, about the length of this NES. I believe this NES has the potential to stay interesting and active for much longer than 20 turns. As new characters will be introduced all the time, and the death of older influences.

Just reading through the previous player's actions, it looks like some people already have gotten a nice share of bonus APs. I think it's fine as it is, as it really emphasizes the contrast between surviving and thriving.

You said the workload is low after the graphics, right? I'd like to see this continue for a while, and I share your positive feelings.

I agree with this statement.

As do I. AP count is enough, I think.

Going to make an "I agree" post as well. Once co-operation sets in, not only can players work together, they also get lots more well-fed / well-rested bonuses, not to mention what I see as the one great incentive to work together: shrines and mana for all.

I also prefer the current AP default, especially when you consider the amount of free time people will have when they've developed agricultural settlements, and the huge food surplus which comes with that.

Like that's a wise use of time in the current situation. :p
