NESCraft

Hooray update!!

Now to the denizens of Wolfhaven, my suggestions for this turn:

With the most AP I figure I can go out and bring back needed supplies (meat/wood) as well as help out with random tasks/dealing with the rhino. (speaking of which how do we want to deal with it?)

Herobrine I'd recommend nothing but farming. I know this is boring but farming is going to be our main source of food as I'm likely to hunt everything at this pace.

As for the children they can either help farm or help build right now.

Justo if you care to join us building and defending the area might be the biggest help right now.

Building priorities:
Wall around the farming patches, unless the rhino can be dealt with even then still needed
Most likely more farms, can never have too much food
Expanding the hut to hold 5+ people

What do you guys think?

Sorry for the late-ish reply. And I agree on expanding the hut and establishing better food resources as well. If Milarqui can pull through and kill that rhino, that would be great.

I think a good way to handle the crops and rhino in one go would be to "tend the crops and keep weapons ready if the rhino comes close." Hopefully Milarqui will kill it quickly. Currently, we may be able to barely make do with what we have for food as long as you keep hunting.

Justo I think would be very handy in chopping trees and working on the hut. I could focus entirely on farming today.

The two new kids (Arrow and Nintz) could be very useful if they were to take on a builder, farmer, or hunter trait by their choosing. Also it might be a smart idea to have them try to bond more with the wolves by offering them some bones to chew on.

I'll try to write a more detailed response tomorrow, I'm only on my phone right now.

Justo's Orders
1 AP to move into Wolfhaven and begin cutting timber using their tools. Drop off goat skull into dwelling as a gift.

1 AP to begin expansion of the dwelling using newly cut timber. Hopefully someone else can complete the expansion to provide some room for myself.

1 AP for sleeping, resting and socializing. Hopefully in the dwelling for comfort/safety reasons but if not then find somewhere comfy in the area.

Food: hopefully the kind folks at Wolfhaven will let me have some of their food (preferably something other than meat due to my current sickness). Obviously I may also stumble across some nuts and fruit while cutting down a tree.

Camp Defense: Should some sort of predator come near the Wolfhaven use my trusty spear and hunting abilities to attempt to remove the threat.

Upon reading my orders for last update, I haven't a clue why I make a Pickaxe and not an Axe. Oh well.

I'm thinking of building a boat and then trying to find either Thlayli, SecretScribe, or Pandaholme. Thlayli is almost certainly north; any ideas where I might find the others?

Great update Daft!

Orders:

Names used for convenience:

Homebase - The site directly between the cairn, the small bush, and the lake. This puts it right next to the holy lake for heat and comfort, right next to the cairn for spiritual guidance, and makes use of the bush as a mostly ineffective guard against the northern wind.
South bush - The easternmost bush, directly to the south of homebase.
West bush - The westernmost bush, directly to the west of South bush.

Actions:

Drop the rock I'm carrying at Homebase.

Wash face in the holy lake, sprinkle some water onto the cairn, then:
1 AP - Pray for harmony and togetherness with nature. Towards the end of the meditation begin thinking about bunnies, and how nice it'd be to have some as pets.

Gently take a relatively bowl-shaped rock (anything that can hold a small amount of water) from the cairn, dip it into the holy lake, then place it at Homebase as both a protector and a symbolic offer to nature.

Take a round pebble from the cairn, and fully dip both it and the stick into the holy lake. Place the pebble within my bosom, held in place by the linen I'm wearing.

1 AP - Head to the South bush and harvest it of berries. If there is time, also harvest the West bush; getting back in time to sleep well is more important though.

If I meet the bear on the way to the bush, put the stick to the side, slowly kneel onto one knee, disrobe myself of the linen and lay it out flatly on the ground, place the blessed pebble at the top of the linen, then kow-tow to the bear (again, on the linen).

At the bush(es), make use of the stick only to gently move branches aside to better reach the berries. Do my best to bring no harm to the bush(es).

Eat my fill of the berries onsite, then disrobe and use my linen as a makeshift sack with which to bring excess berries back to camp. Try not to pick any more berries than I can eat+carry.

Take the pebble, my makeshift sack, and the stick (would be cool if I could do the cliche tie-sack-to-end-of-stick and carry it on my back, but I doubt the linen is flexible enough to do that practically) and head back to Homebase.

Once back at Homebase:

Refill the bowl-shaped rock with holy water and place my extra berries around it, and quickly wrap the linen back around myself. If any of the cute rabbits are nearby, offer them some of my extra berries as treats.

If there is still time, make the short walk down to the tall grass just to my south, take as much as I can, and bring it back to homebase. Cover up the excess berries with some of it, and use the rest to try to make a comfortable resting place for myself.

1 AP - Huddle up in my resting place under the cairn (and next to the bowl-shaped rock and berries), with the pebble still within my bosom, and get some sleep.

Thanks again :salute:

Soo when d'y'all want an update?

I don't think there is a pressing need for a mini-update, at least not with the orders so far. I've already PM'ed Omega124 about exploring the portal.

However, note (Wolfhaven): Milarqui cannot move through sunlight and so will not be attacking the Rhino straight away.

Now then. 4 months of inactivity will understandably have caused some attrition. Missing players and potential players please report in!

You could go randomly digging in the hillside, or go mine some of that gold ore (of course, sans any economic system, it only has aesthetic value). As for the latter question, I'm saying nothing :)

If I were to try and carry my Tent in a Backpack, would it count as one item (a Tent) or two (a Deerskin and a Linen)?

Viz. the direction, I'm looking for anyone's input. Didn't really expect you to go handing me a map.

Anyhow, the new plan is to set out over land. I'll be ready in two or three days.

Chinese Warlord posted in our SG, sooo he should still be around.

I'm OK for an orders deadline for sunday.

Sunday is fine with me!

@talonschild, I need to clarify the rules on that - I think the backpacks etc should be somewhat Tardis-like, but not to the extent of Minecraft inventories. You can have the tent in there by all means, and the bones, and the meat rapped in rabbit pelt, that should fill it up. The pickaxe will have to be carried in one of your hands. Also, if you want to go travelling (you could spend all/most of your AP on moving, since you will not starve to death in one turn), I will give you at least one mini-update halfway through, so you can decide to keep going or not / change direction etc.

But Thwapp is a horrible father! Why do you taunt me so? :3

I guess I'll put in a preference for thomas.berubeg's kid. Hopefully this "protection agreement" won't turn out like the Grigori.

Actually, my plan was to make a Backpack and a Belt, with the Stone Tools and Pickaxe on my Belt, my Tent, Gold Rocks and Cooked Fish in my Backpack, my Antler Ornaments on my head, and my Spear in my hand. Is that feasible?

@Lopaz, feel free to join up with us. There will be safety in numbers. I suspect we will hang out by this tree and cave for now.

1AP: Morning ritual prayer. Develop an energy based fighting move.
2AP: Collect wood from tree to build a shelter. Hopefully, lopaz joins us and provides some wood also.
1AP: Using ornamental tools, use spiritual nature to draw symbols on the ground and hopefully summon protective spirits. This should be at dusk.

TerrisH or whoever plays him should he not return, make use of the crude blanket for protection from the cold.

lopaz, if you move north to us, you might try to bring meat as an offering of peace. We are hungry for meat and since we don't know you yet, we might end up being wary at first meeting.
