Were there any changes in communitas_tu map recently shipped with the current version?
I have tried 5 or 6 maps and all of the map rolls had all of the civs extremely spaced to the point that every civ could plant like 7~8 cities without border tension.

(1-19) Proposed Replacements for Trailblazer Double Movement Promotions

There's been general unhappiness with recon units for a while, this is the only one that passed by a large margin. I figured it'd be a better starting point from which to balance recon units (and also changes to the code have made it doable to implement).

It also makes no sense at all to me that you can move faster through difficult terrain than through normal terrain. This rework prevents that.
Yeah, I like the scout rework. It makes it a lot easier to know just how far your recon units can move.

To those who HATE the recon changes, my tweaks mod will revert all of that. Just wait for me to add the finishing touches.

This is pretty much the first game on 4.9 and i really enjoy it; seems pretty balanced and the AI is giving me a rough time even conquering one city is challenging on immortal.
the most obvious changes for me were how hard is it to get production early on especially as authority -Celts Cernunnos pantheon is even more valuable now-.

notice solar plant has less hammers dont know if its intentional. AI still cant work with raging barbs ive trounced the ai in science turn 360 on standard im building and 5 turns away from spaceship completion they all went authority/fealty/imperialism, im def going up a difficulty level the game is trivial at chieftian not like it used to be

Yes I had a low food start it was rough to expand and AIs were well ahead in tech authority > progress still feels good.
Once I declared the first AI caved quite easy.
As for celts Ogma is untouched if you survive until celidh hall you are good.

Funny, I've had the opposite experience since the 4.7 difficulty change.

I could (somewhat) comfortably hang at Immortal but since ~4.7 I've gotten my ass kicked every single game. Finally went down to Emperor, rolled an amazing 4 coral start and have been top 3 since classical era.

Trying to find a difficulty lane that works for me lol

My last game in 4.7 I was in the lead the whole game through as the Iroqouis for the first time ever playing on deity. Good job making the difficulty progress in a smoother way I guess, it is pretty annoying to always be way behind early and then catch up and overtake as the game passes.

Looking forward to trying the new patch!

Is 4UC balanced for 4.9 yet? Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but I haven't seen anything for or against.

Hi!
Enjoying the game at 4.9 but with a few struggles. I wanted to know where we could make suggestions, its weird that in discord we are directed to talk directly to people X or Y for each matter (the average player doesn't know who works on each part of VP, nor other people will see these suggestions). To the point:
1 - Can we get an option to deal with the roads being incomplete because of lakes/rivers counting as city connections? like an option that road planning disconsiders rivers and lakes, or an option to "not replace roads" specifically (still able to replace other improvements). I mean, if we are just removing roads and not adding anything that competes with them, are we really "replacing"?

2 - Can we have an option to tell the AI we accept a religion conversion? Like I want your religion sir, please spread when u can / when u were going to spread somewhere else. Ofc AI wouldn't just instantly do it, but be more likely to move to your cities if it was converting other cities nearby. Maybe something u could ask a friendly leader, I don't know, just an idea to discuss.

This is not a suggestion but a request: 3 - can anyone kindly explain how the new Carthage UA works? I'm not sure I understand what the trade network is and what counts for it. Also, I was getting 7xp units on classical era when buying with gold. I don't get how I reached this specific value, given the bonus of 5xp scaling with era.
Thank you :)

7xp -are you playing on epic speed ? Most one-time xp bonuses scale with gamespeed.

Maybe this is better for World Congress, but can we tone down axemen and/or make slingers better? Feels like they got a big bump from Emperor -> Immortal. Two of those guys are a force to be reckoned with (even with the Authority opener)

Just jumped into my first game of 4.9, I was playing with 4UC, and I noticed that the Netherlands were missing their unique building from 4UC. Went into the actual game and saw that the constabulary was missing from the tech tree. Hopped into another game without 4UC and still the same thing. EDIT Ignore me I'm an idiot I am playing as Siam
