New Beta Version - April 23rd (4/23)

Really not a fan of all these arbitrary limits on things that people keep suggesting, the AI is struggling enough as it is.

It isn't arbitrary, it is a possible solution to the problem. Time frames are already used for things like peace treaties, it would make some sense to not have the AI remove a declaration of friendship after some level of having it.

Current game, None of my Kris Swordsman can rest to heal. They can fortify, but there's no option to just heal.

Every other unit is acting normally. I also don't believe the in the latest attack that they are gaining hit points from kills (from Authority)

I'll have to just watch it closer, but the only strange part of an otherwise lovely game so far. Even the events are not too terrible right now, everything is just a joy to play.

The main problem I see with the free Shock I promotion is that we are encouraged to continue the Shock tree to reach a basic III promotion so we can pick a tier 4 promo like march faster. I'd have liked more a free Drill I promotion (after all, drill is for some selected units with a very specific task), but I understand it conflicts with Alhambra.
A workaround could be to let tier 4 promotions to be eligible with three basic promotions, like having Drill II and Shock I simultaneously.

EDIT: Or we could let Alhambra grant a free Shock promotion instead, so the free Drill can be given to sword units without conflict. But I can't remember if there are other free Shock promotions that may conflict in this case.

Honestly, from my limited testing I don't think the swords need the free promotion at all, they are doing fine.

Also as mentioned getting free shock I means you're pretty much always going to continue the shock-line to get better promotions unlocked faster.

Ok so my feedback for the new version :

I like the new free promotion on Swordmen and longswordmen. You can pick cover at lvl 2 and it increases greatly their survival potential.
I like the new melee promotion but the numbers don't seem to match your changelog.(20% against cities in game and you said 25% in the openning thread )

But after two games with only, CBP Full package, I've got a hell of freeze and crash around industrial Era in both games. . The game is smoother before, I've got no lag when I quickswap between my difference cities. But around industrial era, everything starts going wrong. I crash in 10 different situations : Attacking, moving, automating civilian (I've got a crash with workers, missionaries and diplomatic units ), choosing a tech and Next turn

I've cleaned up my cache and I used the setup.exe which usually already cleans it.
No other mods except "No ice on coast" mod.

Bug reports w/o minidumps not super useful, just a reminder.

Had the same issue, FWIW. Consistent CTD around turn 300-301 on epic, right after the AI turn finishes. Sometimes a crash automatically, sometimes it waits for me to move a unit.

I agree here. Having a minimum duration gives the entire system a few turn to settle down and makes sure that the AI factors everything in account. However, of course the human should be bound to the agreement by the same amount of turns then.

There could be one problem, though - could the DoF be cancelled by a straightout DoW? what happens if a DP with a 3rd party forces the DoF-parties into fighting each other?

Check your iron supply.
Units with resource requirements can't heal if you lack the respective resource.

You are absolutely correct, my mistake. I should have realized this.

An event I didn't notice destroyed the mine.

Never had this issue happen before, but the game has stopped, but didn't CTD.

I can't move, and nothing is updating, but it never actually crashed. Just an oddity, It's turn 186. I should load the last turn and see if it repeats. It's my turn, and it was on "A unit needs orders"

I think I was moving around the map before it happened.

Why? If the AI changes its mind, it changes its mind. I don't see a problem at all.

What do you want pal ? which log ?

For a crash, he specifically wants the minidump file that appears in the Civilization install folder, not a log.

A suggestion for city events: I'd like to see a "Find on the map" button, centering the city without closing the message window. It helps when you have events in more than one city in the same turn, so you don't choose something bad for a city thinking you're choosing for the other.

Especially when those are cities you conquered that have similar names. I had one pirate event happening in two such cities, one without fishing boats and another with two, and guess in which city I chose the option that screws fishing boats...

Especially as Japan. They even lost the bonuses from the UA.

That happens sometimes. I have an iron mine that I'm always repairing due to such events in my current game. I'm thinking of keeping a worker there just because it's that often.

i before e except after c. Classic.

By the way, just found that the Imperialism's Exploration policy also has a "recieve" in its tooltip, just after a "receive".

"Embarked units receive +2 movement, and Great Generals recieve +1 movement."

Such a sneaky thing this mispelling.

Just noticed, the count for the world congress shows up in the Diplomacy button, instead of the World Congress button.

The CvMiniDump.dmp, right? I'm sending one here. (By the way, don't confuse me with Gokudo01)

I keep getting a crash the turn when the first World Congress is supposed to start (only event of note I can remember). One of the civs that made a proposal (Ethiopia) was eliminated through conquest.

The only external mod used is the R.E.D. modpack (v. 27).

Especially as Japan. They even lost the bonuses from the UA.

Just noticed, the event actually pillages the fishing boats; the wording of the option made me believe that it was a penalty to their yields similar to the "corruption, find a scapegoat" event.

I should have picked this option whenever I could. Since I'm playing as Japan in this game, it is actually amazing...
