For open border, i don't go to to further with gamnes. but for me its ok a hostile did not giv you acces for any reason, and neutral and you really want a open border well i think this be to cost a lot from you, and if they don't want or need, the open border balue from you i think near of 0 its ok xD if you want something need to pay, its diferent case its a friendly civ of course. but i do not know in this moment how its really work the open border system xD

The AI is much more stingy with open borders, and for good reason. There's zero reason for the AI to give anyone else OB unless they can directly benefit more than the other person. And, a lot of the time, the AI cannot benefit.

G
Force of habit, I guess. I'll have to get used to how that works.

Directly benefiting more than the other is quite a thing to think about. I'll have to play quite a few games in order to recognize what that means. I'm not confident about the mechanics or numbers with open borders...

That's all well and god, but when I can't reach areas that need defending, despite having no issues with the civs preventing me (transparent diplomacy), it's making the game not fun. I suggest toning it down so that you can't get it only if they don't like you.

I kind of just want them to loosen it a bit when they recognize that my army is way weaker than theirs. Although, I'm still okay with them not accepting my open borders until they have that direct benefit.

When you literally can't move to where you need to go in the late game, because there is no unclaimed space, there's an undeniable problem.

in the img, you will see a german tradition, this barb camp he has at last starting at turn 30, he has a lot of military and before he has too, i see from turn 30 axeman invade a lot of time, but i don't know we the ia don't take out the barb camp fast, he has the army to do it from begining. i know only autority benefict from take out the camp barbarian. but if you don't an autority, taking out a barbarian camp near of we its solve a lot of problem in the future. that i think

Regarding open borders its kind of weird to me that the friendly AI gives you techs for free but the open borders is just impossible to buy.

Also the value of my techs was gone down in my last game (so I thought the whole time the world is secretly hating me which made sense with the impossible open borders, but I guess now the AI simply values the techs less as well?)

you need the source code and a matching PDB file to resolve the callstack where it's crashing. easiest way to get it is to pull the latest from github, do a debug build (should work right out of the box with the VC++ 2008 compiler) and drop the resulting DLL/PDB into the Community Patch folder. Now start the game, load the mod, attach the VS debugger, reproduce your crash and you should see exactly what goes wrong. Good luck!

I found the GitHub but what source code should I look for? Since the Community Patch is what's causing the problem should I just download the Community Patch files from GitHub. Also, once I have the source code what are the steps to creating a matching PDB file or just creating a PDB (been trying to create the PDB file to no avail, just general tips of how to get a matching PDB file. Do I have to somehow create a PDB for CvGameCore_Expansion2.dll or for the entire Community Patch file?). I'm using Visual Studio 2017 (not VC++ 2008 compiler, as I couldn't find it). Also, for Symbols, once I have PDB file do I just set Symbol paths to the PDB. After I figure out how to create the PDB file I basically have it all down and working. I see how to attach Civ 5 to Visual Studio so it can detect the bugs and everything else, the PDB is just what's holding me back.

there's a solution file called VoxPopuli_vs2013.sln in the repository, use that to build and you should get the desired CvGameCoreExpansion2.dll/pdb. if you put the pdb next to the dll, the VS debugger will find it automatically and you don't need to set the symbol path manually.

but you need to have the 2008 toolchain installed, else you won't be able to link to the libs provided in the Civ5 SDK. note that you may still use a newer IDE version.

I'm seeing 40food/40gold bonuses for expanding borders (Authority-Tribute policy) even before completing the Authority tree. I'm not complaining :) , but wondering if it's working as intended?

It scales with era.

Reformation is not working properly for followers. At least, Glory of God. Civ that had adopted a religion with this reformation gets yields for using greap people but can't purchase them for faith. Jesuit Education works well.

Also Glory of God is absolutely OP, at least on large maps. i changed yields from 5 to 2 and its is still great.

Well anything can be OP when you have more cities to benefit from.

Hey G, not sure if this should go on Github as a bug or not, but can something be done to compensate if you have espionage turned off?

I dont really like the spy system in this mod (love everything else) but if i turn off espionage then i cant build constabularies or police stations which means my cities get very unhappy very quickly

If you have that ticked, can the other anti crime buildings (walls, castles, barracks, armories etc) have a bigger impact on crime prevention?

Alternatively, could those buildings (constabularies/police stations) still be built but with a lower maintenance cost or an additional function.

There are other things (like the statecraft tree being weaker and certain ideological tenets being weaker too) but thats my main concern.

Poland NEEDS A serious buff. Winged Hussers should be 1000 Strength, and Stables should produce unlimited horses, and what happened to the free social policy per turn ;P

Is it trolling? If yes, it was poor one. If not, I dunno, what it was/what you mean it to be.

I second this.

I'm not a fan of the whole spying system, but if you turn it off everyone suffers massive unhappiness late game from crime.

I cannot understand why. Those unhappinesses come from the difference between the mean world values and yours, taking pop numbers into account. If you don't have constabularies, others don't have it neither. Are you using garrisons with high strength?
