I'm still doing fine warmongering, it just requires more shorter wars.
I was gonna say I haven't had much complaints about the new system. I like that I can notice WW more now, but I haven't felt it's been unfair
In my opinion this change may hurt AI more than the human domination player. The human was always better at lightning warfare, while the AI need some time to conquer something in a war.I can say I notice WW now a little more, but this does not delay my wars too much yet. Let's see what is the estimated end turn for a domination victory nowadays.
In my one game on the last version, I could really feel the WW change (Immortal). I have to kill a lot of AI units before taking cities, so it adds up.
A good rule of thumb is, whatever Bite says, most likely the opposite.

Don't be meany to Herr Biss-mark...
Can I still start a new game or is a new beta imminent?
You're a history professor with a PhD IIRC? How on Earth do you manage your time to be able to work on this project and do things like mark exams and go out of town etc...Probably not tonight, waiting on some pending changes from @ilteroi (if he has any). I'm deep in testing, however, definitely by Friday (as I'm out of town next week and that would be too long for my loyal fans!).

An important part of research and education is being able to communicate the results to the legits (that's us, the gamers). And now, we all know that currency came in the classical age, and how small the world became with the advent of caravels and compasses. And also, how the Roman empire crushed the Mayas, before the Mongols overtook all city states around. You're a history professor with a PhD IIRC? I can imagine the conversations you might have with your buddies when they ask what you do on your free time...
"Yo bro you up for some partying?"
"Nah man I need to....work...."
"On what?"
"A game mod....a very important game mod I've spent 8 years on..."
Thank you for dedicating so much of your time to this mod! And on that note, what happened to the gift feature that was here a couple of days ago...

Your interest in history got you a PhD.PhD yes. Professor, I was, well I’m in the process of switching gears. Long story short, hours to dollars just didn’t make sense, and it was a very toxic environment. I love teaching but it wasn’t right for me or my family at this time.
To anyone looking at careers out there, stay far away from academia in America.

I wonder if you might try applying to some Canadian universities? I have on good authority from a prof who worked in 2 universities in the US and now works in Canada that the work culture and environment is very different here, and arts faculties tend to be well-funded.PhD yes. That is if your family is up for a move.
