The game guide is here for Antiquity Age civ, Persia!

"The kingdom," Xshaca, or what we know as Persia, was the center of the world at its height, reigning over most of Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Anatolia. It was a strong, centralized state with efficient communication and transportation systems and a professional army, and it brought the luxuries of the world together – until the forces of Alexander the Great sent it toppling down.

This Persian unit is a hybrid unit -- four swordsmen in front and four archers in back. This fits with the usual Civilization depiction of the Immortals as a melee unit with a ranged attack.

edit: And I'll just post these here for unrelated reference, since they were also seen in the clip identified as Persia.

(And yeah, I know Dur-Sharrukin is not Persian)

We've seen the Pieradieza garden Unique Improvement and the Gate of All Nations wonder. I guess we just need a unique building, unique civilian unit, ability, traits, and starting bias

I paste my observations from another thread:

At first glance, the quivers on their backs allude immediately to the Immortals, but the circular shields and the swords seem inappropriate. I would have expected them to wield spears with apples on the bottom, and at least some of them should wear Persian headbands or the iconic Persian tiara that the flag bearers next to the Commander wear. So, the one Military Unique Unit is definitely the Immortal which could be the one depicted above, and it will likely replace the Spearman. The other is one of these two, the Sparabara that replaces the Warrior, which could also be the above sword unit or a Unique Commander. Note that the Commander's model and armour is identical to an Indian Commander that appears in an earlier moment in the video. The Unique Commander's name could either be Satrap or Spahbed. If it's the latter, then Achaemenid and Sassanid Persia are grouped together.

Since they have a Unique Improvement, they presumably won't have unique buildings.

Will two attacks in a turn be the unique ability of the Immortal this time? From the looks of it, the unit will be able to attack once from afar, then it will perform one more attack in close combat.

If recycling a lot of Civ VI uniques is how we get more civs in base game at launch (to save brainstorming/pre-prod civ design), I am all for it.

The Pairadaeza is a prime choice for Persia anyway. Persia has always been famous for its gardens and is to this day. Most languages in the region take their word for garden from Persian, and indeed the word "paradise" comes from pairadaeza.

It's definitely one I wouldn't complain about to represent antiquity Persia, either. Thankfully that is another thing going for recycling uniques from prior civs: a lot of them were already well-selected.

A continuation from Civ6. Immortals can use both bows and swords. now this unit is more fluid than before with the absence of Promo Class system (which is GOOD).

If this is what you guys are referring to as an improvement, it may instead be two unique buildings in a unique quarter.

1. Satrap Court
2. Apadana can be their wonder. it literally means 'Royal Palace'. the term is also ported to Arabians and Turks with the same meanings. AFAIK there must be an Apadana in Constantinople, not sure if Ottoman Turks simply used what Old Romans built, or simply built a new one entirely and call it Apadana or Afadana.

Apadana isn't the wonder though if it's Gate of All Nations?

So correct me if I'm wrong, but Persia still hasn't been officially announced has it? And we've had every other antiquity civ game guide released, and since then we've now had 2 exploration civs in a row.

Could it be we actually won't have Persia in base game, but we know about their styling and units because they are one of thr launch DLC civs, and we only have 9 antiquity civs?

In Ashoka First Look video, his Destroyer persona is said to be a good pairing with Persia.

More probably, their unique civilian unit "the Satrap" reveals the gaming concept of governors or somesuch thing. Or they just wanted to push it back for giggles. They don't have to follow any pattern and can do what they want.
