Meaning if the Motte and Bailey is in the main game, its a replacement UI and I am guessing that of Denmark

I'd be surprised if the European civ turns out to be Ukraine or something like that. Really expecting Venice, but who knows...

I'm psyched about the inclusion of Indonesia as I was really convinced it wouldn't happen. In a way though I'm disappointed about Italy. I would have much preferred them to Venice.

I'll be amazed now if Glass isn't the mysterious resource.

My thing with glass is... how would it be represented on the map?

On the other side... it could be produced on cities...

Anyway, I'm ultra happy because of the Majapahit, kinda sad because of Italy

Glass would be found on desert terrain?

... Also, wow - between Portugal, Indonesia, Venice and likely Morocco, that's FOUR civilizations with an International Trade Routes focus! Wasn't Portugal supposed to be THE trade civ? :p I'm really curious to know how they will differentiate all of these!

Also, only Brazil (and France) seems to have a culture/tourism focus... That's disappointing - hopefully they can tie the two mechanics together with Venice or something...

As suggested, it would probably mean a workshop replacement where Venice got a free glass resource or something like that along with a great works bonus

I'm starting to buy Indonesia, but I still think the other SE Asian options have a possibility.

What's the point of making me excited for Friday if they have already clearly hinted both civs. :<

Well, Venice has to be the European civ, and a much better choice than Italy for the normal Civ - just use Italy for the Scramble for Africa.

From late 1100s to mid 1600s Venice was a major trading, naval and army civ, including capturing Constantinople in 1204, and Crete and southern Greece. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venice#Expansion), Massive navy, +3000 ships, and trading with the Ottomans made it the major route for transport from Asia into Europe, until Portugal found the way around Africa.

Plus we get Glass, from Murano, and Marco Polo, with his trips to China.

Gajah Mada is a good match too:

And he is "credited with bringing the [Majapahit] empire to its peak of glory", according to Wikipedia.

Portugal was THE naval trade civ. The others can have other aspects of trade: land, religious pressure, special resources, culture, etc.

That'd be a good choice, but the icon doesn't seem to fit much... I dunno, he looks much... stockier?heavier? than the silhouette.
