Why would there be a city named after Discord though? Maybe sometime in the future, once he actually does something useful for Equestria, but as it is he is a former tyrant and backstabber whose only beneficent act at all was to help clean up the mess he was responsible for in the first place.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love him as a character and he was my favorite villain until Rainow Rocks came along and blew him out of the water with the Dazzlings and more depth for Sunset Shimmer, but if we are talking in universe it'll be a long time until someone names a city after him. (Cue the first episode of Season 5 proving me wrong)

Within the cannon there evidently were some individuals whom liked discord.

At least enough to make home decor featuring him. Your probably right though. That wouldn't necessarily lead to whole towns being named after him.

Now that I think about it, maybe it could work if Discord was the leader, but which civics would unlock him I have no idea. Maybe he should show up when Equestria has completely incompatible civics like Capitalism, Central Planning, Theocracy and Secularism running concurrently? Before that I would like to see Luna included first though, maybe Cadence and Twilight as well.

Discord and Luna are already LHs. Discord is leader if Equestria becomes communist or dictatorship. And Luna shows up if Equestria turns into a democracy. It might make sense for discord to be leader if Equestria were unstable though.

I know, it showed up in Twilight's flashback in Cutie Mark Chronicles when she went to see her first Summer Sun Celebration. I think it's Celestia's personal coat of arms though, but at this point in time she was the only ruler so it made sense to also let it stand for Equestria as whole. Now that the number of princesses has quadrupled I'm not sure it would be fair to the others, especially Luna who is supposed to be her sister's equal.

Here is an idea: Every other turn the leader changes between Luna and Celestia and the flag to their respective emblems (though we'd have to make one up for Luna, but it shouldn't be too difficult as we'd just have to copy and paste her cutie mark to fit with the current flag) to properly represent their shared rule.



Yeah but human civilizations for the most part don't have a single immortal leader singlehandedly running the show for millennia as is the case for Equestria.

Wait a minute... Woah. How didn't I notice that earlier?

Anyway it stands to reason that even if that was the official coat of arms of the entire nation rather than just that of its autocratic ruler, it probably was changed after Luna's return. The whole reason she was banished to the moon for a thousand years in the first place was because she rose up against her sister in jealousy over their subjects preferring the day over the night, so I'm pretty sure Celestia would now take steps to truly make them (appear) equal wherever possible to prevent that from happening again.

Shifting leaders every few turns might make things complicated diplomatically. Then again a multitude of rulers is not a good thing. It might be easier to just combine the leaderheads.

Lauren Faust originally planned to call the place Fillydelphia instead of Ponyville, so perhaps the East Coast would be a core more in line with canon? Although obviously it changes the balance quite a bit(not that I think balanced gameplay is the main intend of this mod, mind).

Also, for dictatorship I think Nightmare Moon would be more fitting than Discord.
(Discord obviously needs to be the leader of another faction at war with you. And his spies instead of poisoning your water supply spread chocolate rain which raises both unhealth and happiness in the target city).

That may be so, but in canon Fillydelphia is a city, though I don't know where it is. In fact, canon Equestria is in a fantasy world of its own, completely with sun and moon operating under different rules than they do here, so you might as well just place it whereever there's space for them.

Btw did you add any Great People Ponies for Equestria? Starswirl the Bearded comes to mind as Great Scientist or Prophet. Also you need to rename the Great Statesman to Great Statesmare.

Now that the Season 5 premiere has aired you have no excuse not to use Chairmare Starlight Glimmer as leader for a Communist Equestria. There should be plenty screen caps of her various facial expressions by now, so all you need is an instrumental version of "In our town" and you are set.

Her lines when AI controlled practically write themselves:

Greeting: "Welcome! We always love making new friends! Feel free to join us in our egalitarian utopia!"
Demanding tribute: "Hello friend, surely you can part with this? We are all equal and friends here after all, are we not? Conformity begets happiness."
Declaring war: "To excel is to fail. You haven't quite seen the light of equality and harmony yet I'm afraid, let me help you with that."
Refuses to talk: "You are obviously not ready to join us yet. Please spend the night in the friendship chamber*, I insist."

*Was there actually a name for the room the Mane Six were locked and brainwashed in? If so I missed it, but this is now my headcanon.

Principality of Equestria, New Lunar Republic, and Equestrian Empire all seem good to me. I just feel that there is something better that could be used for the "Realm of Chaos", communist name, and "Discord State", dictatorship name.

For the record, I don't like New Lunar Republic, and I never did. I can't believe after five years that meme still somehow exists. The Solar-Lunar split has never been about Republic versus Autocracy, and if anything Celestia is probably closer to Republic than Luna, and definitely Nightmare Moon, who should be a fascist leader more than anything.

Communist name should be "Hippocratic Herd's Republic of Equestria" obviously.
Dictatorship name could be Realm of Nightmare(s) maybe?
Discord's reign is indeed difficult to give a name to, the whole point of it is utter chaos and the absence of a state, with everypony being nothing more than a plaything for the master of chaos in a daily struggle to survive through the constantly changing environment.

If all else fails, how about a random string of letters and numbers that changes every turn, or is that too meta?
