New Job Openings at Firaxis

If CivIV is going to use actual 3D models ingame as opposed to animations, unit creators here who build their units in a 3D program and animate them may have a chance. If Civ IV's engine will be similar to any of the 3D RTS games out there now, it will be where the game will use the 3D model and have pyrotechnic-particle effects assigned to the different actions ex: moving, firing guns, exploding. Command and Conquer Generals does this. There is a whole library of particle effects that are assigned to the model's different actions. The model has pivot points for any parts that traverse or rotate and it also has bones assigned to it where the particle effects will be applied.

I wonder if War of the Worlds, counts as a playable scenario? ;)

The Gamebryo engine that they are using does.

FWIW, the new job posting is for a scenario designer, not a model creator (that one has been there for months).

Darn, after all I think it was a bad choise to start fiddling with Pov-ray :crazyeye:
The formats it creates can hardly be used in any HC-3d-Tool... :undecide:

BTW, Warpy, you definitely should enlist yourself to the ranks of fiery axis. ;)

Too late i already got the job,all your ideas are welcome trough pm's followed by your account number. ;)

I've never seen you around here before...

and let me finish that for ya-'and we don't take kindly to your types in here'

Well, I'm twelve, haven't been to college, never made a mod, barely picked up civ 2 years ago, and live in El Paso, which is like.. 7 million miles (only an estimate, ;) ) away form Baltimore, so it's like a waste for me to even LOOK at this thread, but I hope Kal-El or EmbryoDead gets a job there.

i would give mt kidny to him, but i would want things to always say Nobody's Sid Meier's Civilization and Nobody's Sid Meier's Pirates. Actually i might use my name: so Cameron Whittaker's Sid Meier's Civilization 9 - playdoe figures

16 is the minimum legal age in Maryland. 14 is the absoulte minimum with some requirements (some documents and you can't work past 8pm). Anything under 18 (school age) has special rules. Plus, it would probably be 8-12 hours a day. Not sure if there's anything about kids working overtime. (Could be the 14-16 bracket where it's not allowed).

You can't have more than (i think ten or twelve) hours a day of combined school + job, and no more than 8 consecutive. And there's a lot of other restrictions on 16-17 too(can't work past a certain hour, etc.)

@Qwertysoft - I remember there was an exact description of the rule (a poster) in the Parkville/Carney Library. But, it's in the staff room. :)
