New national flag adopted in Iraq

It is the Grand Union flag used briefly in America after the war of independence. At that particular time in history the Irish part of the Union Jack (the red diagonals) were not part of the flag.

hmm, three stripes eh... there couldn't be another historical country the US fought for that had three stripes on their flag...could there... lol It's just Vietnam with a splash of Islam!

It was also the flag of the East India Company (or something like that); hence why the British thought Washington had surrendered when he hoisted it.

Well, the idea of two blue strips to represent the Euphrates and the Tigris of Mesopotomia is good... but put it at the bottom doesn't look good. I think it's better this way :

Well, I don't really think it matters what the flag is going to be, because I doubt it will be flying for too long after US troops leave Iraq...whenever that is.

I think that looks nicer, but what i read on CNN says the yellow stripe represents the Kurdish minority, and does it really need the star?

Both of Marla's designs are very good

Definitely better than the stupid new Iraqi flag. It looks like something that would be flying over a flea market.

EDIT: I'm not very fond of her third option, but at least it's original.

Personally I would pick the Hebrew ripoff but make it green and white instead of blue and white
