New Window?

Ya, I'm having the same problem as Hobbs.

Every time I click anywhere on the CFC site, a blank page opens up in Internet Explorer.

Thankfully I can still logon using the tab button to post.

Just got another blank window clicking on this thread's link. Not the same one I don't think (closed it too quickly) but still there.

And just got another update95 when trying to open my account by right-clicking.

I'm using chrome on cfc black and haven't encountered any problems.

OK - I see you are using Modern CFC style as well. What are other people using? I ask because we removed a dodgy link from the Modern CFC style yesterday that wasn't affecting other styles. I can't see any obvious issues in the Modern CFC style templates at the moment though...

I removed CFC from my restricted sites list and tried both CFC Ancient and CFC Black. The pop up windows continued to appear into both of those skins.

OK, webmasters for CivFanatics need to look into this.

That's what people are experiencing. This calls up a blank page for IE8, while Chrome actually tells me that I need to update Adobe Flash, and tries to re-route me to a URL for the domain http://install.update95.com.

People should NOT run that update. as it will try to install Malware called "Optimum Installer"!

My workplace's ant-malware blocks the re-routing, having flagged that update95.com URL as know security threat. After that initial event, Chrome seems to work normally.

The problem is he doesn't see it at all. I assume it's an ad with some malware in it creating these pop-ups. It could be location based and his location is not being targeted. It could also be him using a different browser, though I'm sure he's already tested a few browsers on the site without this problem. Unless he can reproduce it himself, he can't even begin to fix it.

Hi all,

As temporary measure, I removed the ad banners from the site for now from the main CFC style.

This seems to have fixed it. Please let me know if you still see the new window popups.

I will remove ads from other styles as well.

I will let our host know of this issue.

It probably was only aimed at Americans. That would explain why Ainwood wasn't seeing it but TF was. Kudos to TF for fixing it.:goodjob:

You're the best!

Whatever onclick event generated those blank pages is no longer affecting my broswers. Thanks.

I have added the ads back. Our host said they fixed that problem.

If the problem happens again, please let us know.

I just was redirected to another site a second ago after clicking on a forum link. Mostly blank screen with a small blue box in the center. It said something like Pop Up Blocker test, but I'm am pretty sure it's malware/adware/spyware of some sort. I did not click anything and just used the back button. Sorry, I forgot to copy the link of the site I was redirected to, but I'm not sure how helpful it would be.
