Random out of nowhere question: Why are people so for rebellions in Iran and China, but were so against rebellions in similarly dictatorial nations like Egypt and Libya?

The official line is that China is 'in the early stages of socialism' and it willl take 'at least a hundred years' of development.
The irony is that contrary to Marx's prediction communist revolutions didn't occur in capitalist industrial societies but in feudal and largely agrarian backwaters like Russia and China.
The Chinese Communist Party has implicitly acknowledged that capitalism is an essential step on the road to communism, and the Soviet Union and Mao were wrong when they tried to skip it. Capitalism is a necessary evil for the time being.

There may be some cases were it is suitable for a farmer to need a gun for pest control that is all, this would have to be fully licensed of course.

I cant think of any use for a gun in a town other than criminal use. We have a Police Force to protect us from criminals and they have armed response units so they dont carry guns as a matter of course.

When you compare deaths from firearms between the UK and US you will see the difference.

It's a little worse now that everyone uses cell phones, at least with the emergency phone system here in the US. If for some reason you call 911 on a cell phone and are unable to speedily provide your location it takes them a significantly longer amount of time to bounce the cell towers to locate you. Even then they usually only get it accurate to about a block.

I used to delve more regularly into firearm ownership and its effects on violent crime, but it's been a long time. Homicide rates(not firearm fatality rates) fluctuate almost entirely with population density and poverty once you attempt to get accurate controls on your study's numbers. Then again everyone uses statistics to lie so I'm sure you could intentionally tweak it either way to say what you want it to.
