Next week: Gamescom 17. - 21.08.

Unless he meant an advance build instead. Which just means one that comes before launch.

They talk about what you have to do to play Civ VI at Gamescom on Friday ...

... if you own a ticket and (only) for one hour - alone or with one other person to share the computer. Nevertheless, an awesome opportunity for those in question.

Unfortunately, even if you might be interested - all places are taken and the posibility to register is over.

Dragoner posted this few posts back:

The German Youtuber Writing Bull mentioned that he will do Livestreams and records for Youtube of CIV 6 from Gamescom with an advanced build.

It seems I'm responsible for some confusion here. I'm sorry for that.
Writing Bull stated he will able to Play an newer build than he's playing in his Videos to date. And the build he had in his Videos are, as far I can see, the same than other Youtubers had.

He just postet his schedule for Gamescom: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rf5ZXFA15BQ

His Live Let's Plays will be at (CEST):
Samstag, 20.08.
16.30-17.30: Civilization 6 - Live Let’s Play
2K Games - H 6.1 B011/C010

Sonntag, 21.08.
14.00-15.00: Civilization 6 - Live Let’s Play
2K Games - H 6.1 B011/C010

I also believe that there will be newer Scythia build. Since they has revealed last week and will probably reveal a new civ tonight, they at least need to allow players to choose the new civs so they need a new build.

zwei833 I use this opportunity to ask as a German what do you (or other Germans) think if Barbarossa is the leader?
Is he more obscure in Germany or held in high value?

He is very well known. He has a special taste to it though: being more or less forgotten after medieval times, he was "resurrected" in the nationalism movement of the 19th century ("he will come back and unite Germany" myths). Of course this was also exploited during the Third Reich.

That said, I'm quite happy. I would have chosen Frederick II. "stupor mundi" as a medieval leader though. He really shines out as one of "the" leaders in history if you ask me. Barbarossa wasn't that successful as far as I know, but then again, he had to face a lot of stuff that was not easy to deal with. Funny that he got Charlemagne a saint though... (this should have never happened :D) I wonder what ability he will get? A military one? Or a religious one having played the pope and almost participating in a crusade? Hope for unique building like the "Pfalz" which could give capitol bonuses to multiple cities (just like it was). And I do hope Berlin is not the capitol...

I'm going to guess Barbarossa will have a city-state flavor from dealing with the German principalities and fighting Italian city-states. And his agenda will probably make him mad when you replace him as ally of a city-state.

But I'm not German. :p

I made that mistake before. Zwei means two in German and I didn't expect it to be a word in another language. So you either chose a german name or it has a meaning in your language...

to ask as a German what do you (or other Germans) think if Barbarossa is the leader?

So i answer your question.

I think it is a good new choice for a german leader. He is the famost emperor of the holy roman empire.
Is he more obscure in Germany or held in high value?

Most germans have no knowledge about the middleage in germany, but i think he is held in high value.
We have a Barbarossa memorial in germany, called Kyffhäuserdenkmal.
There is a waking statute of him. The legend said, if germany is in trouble, he will awake and rescue germany.

He is famous, especially because of the aforementioned myth that in times of trouble he will awake and come back to help Germany. I also share the notion that the last of the Staufer emperors Frederick II, would have been a even better choice, at least IMHO.

And the last argument: We got tired of Bismarck. At least till Civ X...

Looking forward to watching writing bull and anyone else that loads Let's Play's from Gamescom. I don't really care if it's early game or late game, I just want to see new gameplay.
