NFL 2008 Playoffs

One round down, with a surprise or two. Time to modify my predictions.

Colts @ Chargers Correct
Ravens @ Dolphins Oh so wrong

NFC Wild Card Round
Falcons @ Cardinals Incorrect
Eagles @ Vikings Correct

AFC Divisional Round
Chargers @ Steelers
Ravens @ Titans

NFC Divisional Round
Cardinals @ Panthers
Eagles @ Giants

AFC Championship
Ravens @ Steelers

NFC Championship
Panthers @ Giants

Super Bowl XLIII
Ravens vs Giants

Super Bowl MVP: Eli Manning

The Ravens defense will take them to the Super Bowl, but I don't think their offense will be able to win it.

Not to mention whoever comes out on top of the AFC after the next too rounds will probably be pretty banged up.

Seems like that silly Arizona pick by yours truly wasn't that crazy after all, wasn't it... :D

But then again, my Super Bowl winner Indianapolis flunked out, so that most likely destroys any illusion of good predictions coming from me...

I'm picking the Ravens, the Steelers, the Giants and the Panthers in the divisional round.

Ugh, thanks for bailing the Eagles out Tavaris.

Baltimore @ Tennessee
San Diego @ Pittsburgh

Philadelphia @ New York
Arizona @ Carolina

Good point. The next 3 AFC games I see as being very hard fought, and could believe any team taking the AFC championship. The NFC I'm a little more confident of my picks. I wouldn't be surprised by an Eagles upset of the Giants, though I'm not expecting it. The Cardinals would surprise me if they defeated the Panthers.

My pennsylvania superbowl is still alive. I was flapping my arms around the office in my eagles jersey. I never heard so many people say, I'm not really a vikings fan I'm an AP fan, or something like that. the bandwagon got empty up here quick.

My predictions:

AFC Wild Card Round
Colts @ Chargers, Jan 3 @ 8:00 PM
Ravens @ Dolphins, Jan 4 @ 1:00 PM

NFC Wild Card Round
Falcons @ Cardinals, Jan 3 @ 4:30 PM
Eagles @ Vikings, Jan 4 @ 4:30 PM

...

Superbowl
Eagles vs. Panthers

So I went 4 for 4 on the wild card games but predicted two NFC teams in the Super Bowl. :wallbash: Still time to fix that though.

AFC Divisional Round
Chargers @ Steelers
Ravens @ Titans

NFC Divisional Round
Eagles @Giants
Cardinals @ Panthers

AFC Championship Game
Chargers @ Titans

NFC Championship Game
Titans @ Panthers

AFC Championship Game
Chargers @ Titans

NFC Championship Game
Titans @ Panthers

Man, the Titans are going to be busy the Championship Round, losing in both conferences :mischief:

Maybe the Chargers win the AFC but they all die en route to the Super Bowl.

Can you tell I'm not a Tennessee fan? I'll get it right eventually. :hammer2:

my playoff challenge team blows...

unless the chargers make it to the superbowl...
should have read the rules (8 substitutions overall) beforehand.

Are you in Minnesota? If so, Vikings fans are really weak.

Yeah I'm in the great city of St Paul enjoying the winter, and yes they are pretty weak. The game was almost blacked out, thats how weak they are.

Titans will be the SuperBowl champs. Just wait and see.

AFC Divisional

Baltimore @ Tennessee
San Diego @ Pittsburgh

NFC Divisional

Arizona @ Carolina
Philadelphia @ New York Giants

On paper, the Steelers look like they'll give the Chargers a good spanking - or a close call like the previous 11-10 game, since the horrific weather there was labelled as "perfect football conditions" by Pittsburgh fans while I'm sure the San Diego fans would beg to differ, and weather forecasts don't place the weather then and weather tomorrow too polar to each other.

What do you guys think about the Ravens-Titans game? The Titan defense is jambling around, it seems, benefitting and suffering from injuries. Albert Haynesworth and Vanden Bosch are back, but Pro Bowl center Mawae's out IIRC, we'll have to wait and see how their defense tackles that Baltimore offense.
