NiNES: A Broken Galaxy

I meant that you are killing your own population on a very large scale. Many people dying.

to the Colonials:
We are sorry for the blunt rudeness. The truth stands with your side on the fact that the UPNCS is NOT international law. But it does not stand with you that Rana was oppressed after inviting the Nekomi in and the fact remains that many civilians who did nothing wrong but tell of their unhappiness towards the Nekomi were killed by Nekomi fire. Can you truly stand behind your claim that this killing of innocent people is right?

As we have stated our position previously

the CFS does not believe that a secondary referendum is necessary. While, the facts on the planet are certainly troubling, the CFS must stress that it was the rioters who violated the peace, committed acts of violence, crime, and destruction. The Nekomi utilized force as a last resort, a resort which is well recognized as being legitimate when necessary.

We do not condone the use of force as a means of oppression, however, no rational government official would allow anarchy and lawlessness to prevail over safety, order, and good governance. To wit, we offered previously to create an international team with the task of investigating the allegations and events surrounding the riots. The UCS had declined such and offer and has instead decided to make presumptions as to what occured--namely that the rioting was entirely the fault of the Nekomi government, and that no fault lied with the rioters themselves.

Your question about the rightness of killing innocents, while rhetorically strong worded, belies an absence of a foundation based on fact. Of course we do not condone innocent deaths, but collateral damage is sometimes an unfortunate necessity of the greater good.

USC
to Colonials, Nekomi etc...:
No referendum is needed. It is rather obvious the Rana do not want Nekomi rule. The Nekomi have forgot of them. Didn't aid in the rebuilding of the system and caused a war against the USC which brought only disaster and chaos on the people of Rana. All this was done after the Rana INVITED Nekomi in their planet and joined peacefully. Who that join peacefully has the right to leave I assume?

If the people of Rana will show any sign that they wish for our aid in their war against the Nekomi oppressors we will aid them. But for now we will wait to see what was the cause for those riots, except for the maltreatment under the cat people.

Rest assured that we may have apologized for the rudeness of the last president we will not sit idle while a whole system is oppressed, ransacked and maltreated by the Nekomi.

OOC: err, you mess the grammer up someplace. could you clarify?

OOC: Do you know how bloody ironic that is coming from you terrisH? :p

To USC
fine. we will continue to try improve the relations between our nations, and will continue to ignore your insults until you begin replying in a more civilized manner.

USC
to Cat people:
Good to know. We shall see how civilized you truly are.

To: USC
From: Confederation of Kalia

We send our greetings and congratulations to the new President of the USC, and are most pleased by the Commonwealth's new position on the UPNCS. We wish to continue, and perhaps improve our relations with you, as humankind moves forward into this bright new age.

from USC
to Kalia: (lol reminds of some commercial in Israel)
we are pleased to hear so and would wish for nothing else but the same. We have hopes the Furians won't make it hard for our diplomatic ties to grow.

Especially with the anti-USC coalition forming to the "west" (how is west called in space anyway?).

Don't put words in my mouth. Capella has never ever said anything - nor implied anything to the effect of anti-UCSism. Being a Periphery state, we keep our affairs to ourselves and hope the UCS doesn't simply imply that we (who are neutral) are keen in messing about in the affairs of the Centre.

And you can't really say because a 2D map is merely a distance representation (lots of trigonomety involved). Real space would look nothing like what it is on the map.

to Capella:
Actually we never meant to say anything about your people. We know that the good yet rather tarnished in trade people of Capella are not looking for wars or the destruction of anyone at all. We are interested in friendly relations with your people.

To Capella
From Ascendancy

You owe us money.

from Capella

If you look at your private comminuques (i.e. MSN chat archive), we do owe you money as per our original agreement.

Yes he did. Any trading faction is welcome in the USC and we will be intersted in the continuation of our trading relations.

I see. I believe the last president had no hostile ideas. and I wouldn't mind striking a deal with the Huris in order to make you more calm about out well thought move in the colonizing of Lacaille.

Do you take me for a fool? From the day we met the cat people they have invaded us and have showed nothing but hatred toward us, teaching their people to hate us from birth. We do not know where this hate from first sight comes from but rest assured we won't take the Nekomi so lightly. Though we are indeed open to suggestions of how to fix the problem which the Nekomi have caused.
To: USC
From: DAH (Democratic Autarchy of Huris)

Very well. Here is our interpretation of the situation: We had a claim on the planet of Lacaille, and our previous explorations had missed the survivors on the planet. Shortly before our colonists arrived, USC forces moved into Huris' claimed territory, without previously informing Huris of the situation. Discussion of the situation is very welcome.

To be blunt, many of our people view the situation as the USC openly infringing on Hurisian sovereignty, and profiting from it.

Ideally, we hope that the USC will allow Huris to retake complete control of the system, to make amends with the locals of Lacaille, who lived in poor conditions for a decade due to the difficulty in detecting them without detailed surface scans.

Keep in mind our friendly and forthright relations in the past, and how we have given up several systems to the USC in the name of friendship already.

We have been a peaceful faction until the day the Nekomi invaded our lands. We even allowed them to retain a pre-war borders peace even thought we were under attack.

Our only problem is with our Nekomi neighbors that have hated us since they met us. We would wish this problem solves but they have never showed any peaceful signs toward us.
In Nekomi's defense, they attacked Shuurai Heavy Industries because it was an oppressive corporate state, not because of your people.

The Emergents note that this appears to be a very, very confusing point: to what extent the USC is a continuation of SHI, and thus assumed some or all responsibilities, feuds, debts, outstanding loans, diplomatic obligations, and the like.
The situation of the UNPCS and the USC is not quite clear either.

(OOC: NOW does anyone else think it would have been a better idea with an independent Sol, just to avoid this?)

Huris agrees with the Emergents' statements. There cannot be a double standard.

It is an interesting note that Huris, just a decade ago, was a corporate state. We would be rather offended to be referred to as a 'corporation' today.

Kalia is a land of free enterprise (for whom the majority of the galaxy cares little), and is indifferent to the term. There was a time when we were of course Kali Corp, but the corporation was not oppressive. As a confederacy, we are open to all ideas, and fear none. A nation of equal opportunity. You can pick up your tourist pamphlets on the desk to your right ;)

Huris notes that its excellent friend and ally Kalia was lucky in having a much more humane corporation as government. The totalitarianism and total economic repression from the IG Corporation is still a fresh wound.

The Ascendancy is a Constitutional Monarchy with the stability afforded to us by our Great Monarch and the Democratic Institutions. :D

from USC

to Huris:
The Nekomi war machine continued to teach hatred toward us even after the war when the USC became ruler of this systems. They still do as far as we know.

As for Lacaille. The Population there requested our rule. We cannot act toward them like some goods to be traded away. As of right now the deal that we shall hold to them while Huris will receive the rest of the system will hold. If Huris will send this people aid, support and amends than this could change as they will be more appreciative of your rule and will accept it by themselves. Unlike the Nekomi we will not attack the existing people of a system for the sole reason of ruling them ruthlessly and they will be allowed to change their side and to be part of Huris.

to Emergents and all:
The USC is the name of our faction. The UPNCS is a political entity that exist in the system of Sol. We allow them to speak up more than other systems across the galaxy because Sol was the capital of the people of earth for a long time before the scourge. They will continue to retain their political freedom and will have a free word in anything they wish. The USC will continue to handle it's own political views by itself but as of right now we fully agree with the UPNCS that Rana should be allowed to recover from the horrible rule of the Nekomi.
