NiNES: A Broken Galaxy

OOC: I hope this doesn't mean I'm interjecting between iggy and MadDog, but Misery? That's quite a ah... miserable name for a system ;)

To the Democratic Autarchy of Huris,

And we come full circle. We do not recognize said claim and dispute it's validity.

The Sword of Wrath is not going to allow its colonists to be used as hostages in an extortion scheme.

Again, our Grace has offered to send a personal representative to settle our disputes. We implore you to take his offer as it is the only one we can give you.

OOC: Alex994 - I renamed Eltanin Strife.

Well I'm going to rename Shishimai it's a pain in the arse to type it out. Perhaps Sirrah too to Sir(cheese).

OOC: I'll add, that all three names are part of a theme. PM with your guess what that theme is, and I'll give the first one to guess correctly 10pp next turn.

OOC: 2-3 years? nah, more like 2-3 months. the Limit is only on individual ships, from what I can tell. by having a few layovers between the participants home world and Sol, the participants can transfer to new ships, and so on until they finally get to Sol.

Nekomi might claim one or two more systems, depending on how the map we get looks. post it when I get the map.

To: Wrath
From: DAH

Do not forget that we have the upper hand in this situation. We are economically stronger, more advanced, and more well-armed. Regardless of your beliefs, we will, should push come to shove, break you.

Now, even if you do not recognize our claim, you do recognize our military detachment in the system. We will reiterate our original offer, and lower the price to 10 PP.

OOC: They all seem to be negative nouns.

Good point

Regardless as to the details, everyone will get there, and the games will begin before long. It's a game...if necessary we can make stuff up ;)

but only when absolutely necessary :mischief:

so once I know who is doing opening ceremonies, the festivities can begin.

I'm loving the simulations, btw :D

Sorry that there will be no PMs out tonight. I'm quite simply swamped. In order to not overextend myself, and to not give promises I can't keep, I'm sorry that I will have to make a few changes for the timings of upcoming updates, namely:

- The next deadline for orders will be Sunday 25th at 20:00 GMT, one week from now. That means no deadline on Thursday.
- I will take the full week to process and complete the update, meaning update will be up around the weekend containing the end of March.
- The next deadline after that will be Friday 6th at 20:00 GMT, same day as my own RL work deadline incidentally, and I will complete the update during that weekend.
- After those two shifted updates over three weeks, things will go back to what they've been all along.

PMs should be out by tomorrow. Thanks as always for understanding. And you know what it all means really - more time for you to write your great stories. :D

OOC; Does this mean I get more time for my description? ;)

Well yes I've been wondering if the deadline will change. Anyways no biggie we understand.

yes, it's fine...although I will be gone on that friday...but I can work that out later

huzzah for stories! :mwaha:

To the Democratic Autarchy of Huris,

Perhaps you should call yourselves the Autocratic Dictatorship of Hubris with all your claims of superiority and belligerance. Our Grace has offered to negotiate terms and you have rebuffed and insulted him, threatened the Sword of Wrath with bellicose threats and desires for tribute. These are not the actions of a power desiring respect, but those of one desiring power.

Regent McManus is patient and tolerant man, and while he desires peace your actions and threats force us to darker paths that we would have prefered to not to travel.

OOC: LordIggy, I will remind you that we don't know each others strengths and weakeness. I have no idea of your strength and will only know it if you use it against me. I see your carrier and your outpost, and you see my Scouts and my colony. We should have no inkling of each other's technology base or any other information for that matter without spying upon each other.

Thought it goes without saying that you know what ships I had in the Blight system last turn, coz you were there.

You see that's kind of a problem since it is all said there nicely in the stats.

To the Furians
From NAM

We are somewhat confused by your settlement of Kruger, a system that has been claimed by the NAM for several years now in order to allow us to trade with the core network. It cannot be for resource aquision as there are two systems far less dangerous and more suited to your techical skills that are closer to your homeworld, and it is unlikly it is for trade as both Ross and Alphard are better placed for that. Thus our mystification remains...

If you wish to relocate your settlement to a more congenial system we would be happy to provide assistence and funding.

We apologized we only took Kruger as a defensive base, we had no idea that you had colonized it already. We will leave in the next turn and find a more suitable position.

OOC: Maybe, but that's why we seperate the stats we need out of game with what we know in-game. Otherwise, why would spying be a function of the game? Whatabout the doubleblind map system? We only know what Niklas has given each of us map wise. I can't picture how I know anything about Sol since I haven't a clue where it is even! I'm not broadcasting anything out of my world that I haven't mentioned in this forum thread and then it's specifically to someone that I *see*. I haven't discussed my technologies with anyone and I sure haven't allowed anyone on my world to see the state it's in.

There seems to be considerable assumptions of knowledge that don't jiive with the rules.

We desire no tribute, we desire compensation for the inconvenience of losing a system and the installations on it, which we had put money into constructing.

Is there a price you would be willing to pay?

soo..we starting the games any time soon? I've got writers block and the games will provide good writing material...

...which is my selfish reason for wanting the games.

I say we forget the technicalities of getting there and just press on with the games. Holography, the transportation TerrisH mentioned, and other possibilities we haven't thought of yet.

I still haven't heard for Symph, so unless anyone objects (?) I'll go ahead and do opening ceremonies

OOC: Where exactly on Sol will it be anyways? :p

Opening to be held in Tokyo, as it is presumably the most populous city. The events themselves will take place all over Earth, some like Solar Yachting involving the whole system. Happy now? :p

OOC: No, I despise the location. Why would Tokyo be the most populous city? :p Yes, I'm just nitpicking now ;)
