NOTW LIII - Return to Ciretako [Game Thread]

How exactly did strength work?

Didn't you read my post about ATPG? I wasn't convinced it was you at all.

ATPG switching his vote to me late on was an blatant scum-tell, but I couldn't shift my vote without being lynched. What sort of townie 'confesses' to be a villain? That's stupid.

I understand your anger but please understand my poor position to get myself out of the lynch, I didn't networked this game, I hadn't a clue of what was going on for the most part the game and had 3 votes on me because it couldn't be Choxorn nor Pizza nor you, so please feel free to enlighten me on what I had to do!?

What did you think was the meaning of my: For the record:  or with my scum buddies didn't listen to me and they got what deserved?

Do you wanted me to cry to prove my townieness?

And your post of keeping the charade going just reaffirmed my conviction it was you!

I'm sorry for town loss but don't blame me for it!

Bravo for my fictitious scum buddies!

Fun fact:
Flip Hero team only killed on Even nights all game. Odd nights we always either didn't kill, couldn't kill, or had our kill blocked/defended. XD

And thank you all for participating in the Pizza/Blade charade. I know I could've pulled that off if it wasn't for the fact that Pizza was 100% against me. Due to our plan. =P I BLAME THE PLAN FOR MY FAILURE TO GET CHOX LYNCHED.

Well played all. And I have to say, the Lolcats spam was an unintentional hint as to how Pizza and I were feeling at the time.

You had me fooled the entire time. I figured there was some chance Pizza was some weird third party or something, but I didn't think there was any way he was with Flip Hero. That bladescape-Pizza interaction has to be the most convincing bus I've ever seen. I didn't think even Pizza could pull that off.

It was the serial killers victory condition.

He had 6 strength and would win if the other players combined had six strength.

The strength VC mightve been more applicable to the game if SK bothered to do anything.

Was strength relevant to deciding attacks and such?

Good game.

I hope you enjoyed the performance, and watching the plan be conceived of, sold to my team, and carried out.

Please enjoy our quicktopic. Thank you for the opportunity, this was probably in my top 5 scum games of all time due to the nature of the gambit.

GG Azzaman, you were our biggest threat, and I sniffed you out immediately.

Sorry we couldn't defeat the village side by side.

GG Villagers. Chalk this up to villagers gonna village. It's hard to guess the pizzaguy when there's no scanners capable of detecting him.

Engaging final shutdown sequence.....

Please enjoy The Completely Infiltrated from Day One QT

I named it myself, of course.

Not the way the game panned out.

The mafia would need 6 strength in attacks to nightkill the SK.

Strength had an effect on the roleblock ability though.

Winston could roleblock everyone but Azzaman, and you could not roleblock Sprig, Choxorn or Azzaman (any 4 str townie) until you were upgraded.

Thoughts on the setup:
When I initially designed the game a year or two ago, I had different ideas for what I wanted to do with the roles and the setup but I ended up deleting those files from my computer so I don't remember too much. I believe I had the Annihilator as town but if he attempted to kill the Warmachine he would become a thirdparty, and the warmachine was a neutral not a pfk and a few other things. As the time drew near for me to host I was wondering about what to put into the game when I came up with the upgrade/gun mechanics. I figured that it would add a talking point to the game and be something people were able to discuss even if they had few reads.

I think the mechanic is fine even if it probably needed a bit of tuning up, maybe more people available for upgrades and guns rather than the few that were available. I wanted the town to have a talking point like hey what does this do, and give them something to influence the game besides their vote. For example, Bsmith's role was designed to not be able to use a gun or an upgrade but he started with one, so after his inital failed attempt to use it he would start looking around to see if others could use it, which could help start some sort of network. BSmith played the role exactly as I expected and I'm glad that worked out.

SouthernKing being inactive was a real spanner in the works with little upgrades getting out to the town side. I didn't want too many getting out otherwise town would be overpowered but none got out and it may potentially have hurt towns chances.

In regards to the mafia team design, whenever Flip hero died, they mafia could not kill that night and one of their team would be converted to Flip Hero. The gun allowed him to shoot through protection which is why winston died the third time he was targeted IIRC. I wanted to make a role which the mafia are inclined not to bus, but of course they ignored that and lynched their head role D1. They lost killing through protection until they were voted their gun back in a bad move by the town.

5 scum might seem too many, but with a lot of killing potential out there and a decent amount of town roles I think the balance on that front was fine.

I think there are a few other things I want to discuss but I'll leave em for now.

Any thoughts or criticism or questions are appreciated. Thanks again for playing.

thank you for the game, Visor

I was lost like a child in the mist. I hoped that my scanning ability matters more (I had no idea about setting, tbh)

Well hosted Visorslash. I feel the outcome would have been anticlimactic if no replacements happened. Azzaman would have been gotten before too long, I believe, and spaceman was outed before I could tell him not to be. Leaving only bladescape to survive against this town and their powers.

Unless he gets a gun or a massacre weapon he always loses, I think, unless someone replaces in. Not that I think badly of his skills, he's amazing, but town solves it mechanically eventually if he's the only scum with survivability. And town would never vote a gun or a massacre weapon to a scumbag anyway, that would just be silly.

I considered giving you an alignment scanner but I decided against it. I didn't really want cops in this game.

Yeah, I couldn't wog Verarde otherwise scum team flatout loses.

Voting both the massacre weapon and the gun to atpg was not a bright idea.

Maybe I should have put in a few upgrades/improve some roles after the wogs, to counteract the loss of town roles when the scum should technically have been punished as well.

Next game, I rand villager, and nothing I do will be considered clearing. This will continue for the next several games and then someone will trust me again, when I am scum.

The cycle is never ending.

I think next game I'm going to have night orders due an hour before the thread opens so I can have the writeup ready at the scheduled time.

I have to say, I figured the way you voted in the thread had to be clearing. Why the hell would you go so hard against your own teammates, one in a LyLo situation, and do so much to protect the town doctor?

Like I said, I didn't think even you would act the way you did if you were scum, and I've seen you trying some absolutely balls-to-the-wall crazy things regardless of your alignment. It just didn't make sense.

Oh it was very deliberate on my part.

I wanted someone to think us lolcatting at one another was scummy of both of us.

I am here to perform for you and entertain, and if I come up with a strategy that I think is just.... just brutal on the village... I do what I can to at least make it fun to watch and solve-able.
