NOTW LIII - Return to Ciretako [Game Thread]

I have no idea who should have the gun, but I’m willing to trust BSmith with it today.

So, I really want an Azzaman lynch today, and let me tell you it's actually directly related to his case on me. Let me punch a few holes.

A lot of posts about how he will/won't be around, which I really don't like.

So. "A lot of posts" = 1 post about not being around for most of the rest of the day (Which I got jumped on then and then it was kinda dumb and people finally let that stupidity rest), and then 1 post in direct response to Pizza asking if people would be around. 2 posts. Congrats. That's 1/10th of my posts in this thread.

And apparently me commenting that we shouldn't forget about the PTK because I got a PTK read is very scummeh.

----

IN OTHER NEWS:
unvote; vote: choxorn. Azzaman’s continued efforts in analyzing the thread even in the face of being lynched is giving me pause.

I know you trust him, Winston, but look at this and tell me it doesn't look like 'I have an excuse to get off my buddy'. Because scum don't try to redirect lynches when they've a wagon on them, apparently. Apparently they role over and die.

I'll get a full write-up of my current theory in a moment. I need to grab quotes and context.

There were a couple of other posts along the same line but I didn't highlight them because it was just something that bugged me more than being a scumtell. Included it for completeness' sake.

Sounded like distraction rather than hunting to me.

Are you implying that BSmith and I are scumbuddies despite the fact I've been attacking him for two days and he's been returning fire? Strange logic.

Mm yes, let's just see the 'couple of other' ones.

Post 1 doesn't have any, or 2 or 3. 4 and 5 are about my image that wasn't loading. 6 is my vote for Jarrema.

7 is my first comment that got jumped on! Count 1 on the ding counter.

8 and 10 are my rebuttals to the attacks on me for 7. 9 is a correction of the voting table. 11 is my suspicious strength question, 12, 13, 14 and 15 are all voting or analysis.

16 is the coffee comment, Ding 2.

17 is a correction of voting count again, 18 and 19 are my comments on the situation + voting, 20 is my PTK post, and 21 was just before.

Again, where are the 'couple of other ones'? that's literaly 2/21(22 after this post).

Sounded like distraction rather than hunting to me.

Spoiler Orly :
To be fair, you generally post a lot anyways. :p

Something we need to think about alongside everything else: Who is the Terror? I actually see Jarrema as a possible PTK more and more as I read back.

Actually, no, that was a really dumb suspicion from me. I was all excited because I thought I'd seen something but then I re-read and realised I was jumping at shadows. I still don't like BSmith's post though.

I think I'm fine with a Choxorn lynch today though. I'm actually just coming to the realisation that Chox/Azza have hardly interacted.

I hope it is not against the rules.
For the information of all interested, to provide data for analysis, I share link to qt created by Sprig after I told him I scanned him as not organic:

You know, I'm increasingly happy with the case on spaceman - I can see nothing really townie about his actions here, and I can totally see him cooking up a fake role like that.

Nevertheless, the single most salient point for me at present is that everybody has revealed role information about themselves, except azzaman. He's gone to great lengths to demonstrate his town credentials by talking like a townie, but has signally failed to do the one thing that could leave him vulnerable to being caught in a lie.

And this is the crux of the matter: what azzaman calls scumhunting is barely more than blind finger jabbing in a game like this, where it's not simply a matter of informed minority versus ignorant majority. This is a closed set-up. We have at least one PFK here, and maybe a third party or two. We also have town power roles, items, upgrades, and strength ratings. And, perhaps most importantly, we have the freedom to discuss the game with each other outside of the thread.

In other words, we have a whole load of reasons why players might behave in a fashion that appears odd or inexplicable to an uninformed observer, but which make more sense once you understand the context. And the same is true in reverse: someone who looks very townie when you have little information, can start to look very scummy indeed once you start to get a grip on the details.

At this stage, if azzaman really is town, he's making a distraction of himself for no good reason. He says he thinks I'm town, but he won't tell me what I need to know to judge whether or not he should be amongst the lynch candidates. As it is, his reaction to the idea of claiming stands out as so far different from that of everyone else that I'm marking him down as our most likely suspect for PFK.

I'll add that it's reached a point now where a simple ability claim won't be enough to get me off his back. Full disclosure is now the bare minimum I'd require, and, even then, it would need to be a pretty damned convincing story.

I still want Jarrema to tell us exactly when he's made all of his scans, which thus far he has refused to do. But, Winston raises some compelling points, and Jarrema has at least told us some things.

If nothing else, lynching azzaman would probably tell us a few things, and it looks like I have to vote for him if I want to not die.

Unvote, Vote: azzaman

If I thought my role was valuable, I certainly wouldn't claim in public, but I doubt that's a secret by now.

I can't guarantee I'll have access to the internet for the deadline or a while after. I'm extending the day by 24 hours.

When I said I think you're town, I should've said I think you're more likely town than not, because I don't think you're cleared by any stretch of the imagination.

My reaction to claiming is consistent with how I usually react to claiming.

If you think that I'd have different targets if I was informed, inform me rather than just saying you're wrong and trying to lynch me.

Also, if you think I'm PFK why haven't you tried to roleblock me to verify it?

I'll add that it's reached a point now where a simple ability claim won't be enough to get me off his back. Full disclosure is now the bare minimum I'd require, and, even then, it would need to be a pretty damned convincing story.

You've given me no reason or incentive to claim, other than do it or else. I'm not giving you the final piece of the puzzle so you can systematically kill everyone off one by one if you're scum or PFK.

Because clearly you, Azzaman, are the lynchpin upon which this game hangs, and upon which victory will be determined
If your role is the final peice of the puzzel separating victory and defeat, it wouldn't benifit anyone for us to mislynch you... Unless, that is, your role is the lynchpin for scum or PFK victory ;)

Also question: Has choxorn claimed anything? I can't find a public claim from him anywhere.

I need to be very careful with how much I give away, but you're closer to the truth than you might think. There's no advantage to me being mislynched over claiming in full and getting night killed, so I'm going to continue to avoid doing so.

If you're lynching me because I refuse to claim, you're not really looking for scum.

Why the half-claim? I don't get it. Just telling us that implies you're important somehow and makes you a target. If you have an important ability and that's your reason, you should claim it- if nothing else, you get to use it one more time and make PFK or Flip Hero kill you themselves instead of the town wasting their lynch on someone so obviously important when they could lynch someone who might actually be anti-town.

Or maybe you could claim privately someone like Winston? You're so important that not a single person can know?

He is too important to reveal anything even when he's being lynched as the number one candidate.

There's no one I trust with the specific knowledge of my ability. And my ability is passive, being alive an extra night does not help.

Does it just not take effect during the night? Surely even if it's passive, being alive one more phase would be helpful.

Also question: Has choxorn claimed anything? I can't find a public claim from him anywhere.

He's claimed to me in private, along with everyone else who hasn't made a public claim.

I've been tempted to reveal all the roleclaims in-thread, but a couple of things have stopped me, including the fact that it would make it easier for azzaman to cook up a fake claim, and also that whatever info he's holding might change the whole picture (since it's implied to be so enormously important).
