Actually Autolycus I have to ask you - you're supposedly an item swapper/thief, so if you went after Winston's item you have it now in your possession right?

You ought to tell some people in private what it does (hint: including me, if you'd please) so that if Winston shows up with something to explain we could see if he's trying to lie in advance.

At hearing this, the Noble raises an immaculately threaded eyebrow.

Fear not, mortal. Despite it being a terrible shame to have this beautiful body destroyed, I have no intention of trying to wriggle out of my predicament. Apart from being entirely pointless now that the evidence is revealed, begging for one's life is so undignified. And, besides, if I were to keep up the pretence of being a puny meatsack, I wouldn't be able to point out how silly it would be for you to continue to trust the Quartermaster.

You see, as Demons, our powers mirror those of the Chronomancers. We have a way of finding them, and they have a way of finding us. The power Autolycus has now claimed is exactly the kind of thing we expected them to have, and matters would not balance at all if such a power were to lie in innocent hands.

For the same reason, you should probably re-evaluate your attitude to the Knight. Does it not strike you as odd for the town to have the lynch and a vigilante, while two teams of badguys only have one kill between them? And when those two teams are far more hostile to each other than they are to the innocents?

Also, while I'm on the subject, people have got things totally upside down if they think we were ever the main threat here. Innocent deaths were just collateral damage to us. Sure, we'll quite happily wipe you out if it would put a stop to this time-bending nonsense. But ask yourselves this: if the Lords of Hell are sufficiently concerned about the results of the Chronomancers' experiments to send us to destroy this place, then don't you think you guys ought to be a little more worried about what happens when the clock stops for good?

ps. My item's power was to increase the chances of an unclean lynch. I can't see any reason why innocents would want to keep that quiet. Chronomancers, on the other hand, would have a very good reason indeed. Interesting, then, that Autolycus ran to tell Harkonnen, rather than sharing the information with everyone.

In Impending Retribution, choxorn was ousted as a Saboteur, and admitted to it (paralleling what has happened with Winston). As part of choxorn's dying words, he warned of an "Insurgent", and the townies basically just laughed him off as a lying scum. Turns out, he was telling the truth.

The lesson? One mafia faction wants to destroy the other mafia faction just as much as we (the town) wants to.

Basically, we should listen to what Winston, the demon, says about Chronomancers. It is very possible that autolycus is a Chronomancer, as he would want to kill a demon as badly as any innocent would. There is no reason for Winston to lie about an enemy faction of his.

Autolycus could you transfer the item you got from Winston to someone like me or civplayah before the end of this Morning? At least if what Winston says his item does is what you would also say it does, because it sounds very suspicious to me. And between you and Takhisis with the past lynches I think we could easily have another scum, Chronomancer or otherwise, so I'm not going to be placated very easily unless things are in order.

Someone else needs to confirm as much as we can or I'd recommend we throw in Harkonnen's vig-kill on top of the lynch to take out both you and Winston in some combination.

@ Zack: I was going to go through some of my other threads first before voting here as I would like to spend more time reading through this. And as for the Dinner Party, the posts above mine were short and quick to read, which allowed me to give a vote with a proper reason.

I'll change the abstination quickly.

Yeah, thinking about it, Harkonnen should actually kill Winston if able and we might try to lynch someone else. Unless there's a good reason he'd expect the kill to fail, it should be a sure kill against a demon, because lynching Winston and killing someone else (who could turn up unknown and just be right back to life revived) gives us less information.

Meanwhile I'm not trusting Autolycus' ability at all here, it doesn't make much sense without some more explanations, you already "switched" items with Takhisis or what, and now Winston? - basically get another person in on the item, say Seon if we want it destroyed, but so that they can confirm more of what Autolycus is saying too.

My ability is I can trade any item I have for a random item from a specific person each night. I did that night 1 with Takhisis, I did that last night with Winston. I don't see what's so confusing about that.
