In another matter, I really would like to know more about what some of the ranks do. For instance, robbiecon mentions some repair related ability he can't use? choxorn, how does that relate to what you said was your goal of becoming Chief Warrant Officer Five - seems oddly specific doesn't it?

(OOC: Yeah, I know it's really specific. It's not my fault I've got a really specific PG. I'm sure I'm not the only one.)

IC: Well, it's just a promotion I've been wanting for a while, cause I've been stuck at the rank of Seaman forever, you know? I've been wishing for a while that someone above me would give me a promotion that feels long overdue.

I had no idea what the Rank's ability was until robbie said so, or if it even had one, I just knew that I had the goal to get promoted to it.

If it helps you to know, I don't have a Rank ability, and I don't have any repair ability either, although, who knows, it's possible I could use the CWO 5 Rank repair ability robbie said he had. It kind of sounds like from what he said that it can't be used by everyone, though. My goal would make more sense if I could use it, but I don't really know.

Not really. The rogues would have had every interest in seeing one or the other of them dead, presumably, before the party happened. Later wasn't really an option once the pair of them made their public claim.

Which is why they shouldn't have put themselves into such an impossible situation in the first place.

As far as I understood, the problem was that the repair guys didn't do their job because of it ?

I have the feeling that my argument has gone a bit unnoticed.. so I will list it again just for the sakes of being clear (though I read your post CC Runner )..
I have no cool powers or abilities or anything.. but I have a pg I can do something about.. so naturally I will try to solve this pg, as I don't have much else to focus on with my low rank.. Now Landlubber and I publicly anounce durring the day that we will prepare a party in the night. .

So far so good.

I suspect that knowledge of what the party is actually doing has been spread as people seem well aware about it, and does not ask me any questions about that part.

EVERYONE allows the party to happen as no one bothers to try and stop it..
So a day after the party has been held it hits Renata and Methos 'Hey why did he allow that party to happen !' and adds me on the suspect list.. Though I am not in the line of being lynched, the lack of thought behind this accusation hits me..

We know it's publicly announced in the day and we know Renata and Methos are in contact with the repair guys.. that means we can boil this down to two things.
1) either Methos and Renata are not the genuinly concerned about the ships well being and so they wait until after the party to cast blame
2) They did not foresee this , and if so they shouldn't begin casting blame for lacking the foresight they lacked themselves.

So please Takhasis.. elaborate two things.. Why are my reasons so lame that they deserve FOS'ing (or are you just joining the accusation mob without reason?)
and how are my actions concerned the party in any way related to a blind lynch on DE ?

Maybe no one could stop the party? I couldn't, for certain, even if I was uninjured. Yes, the problem is the repair guiys not being able to deo their work. YOu've already read about the disastrous consequences…
A night without posting would have allowed everyone to chill out (besides fixin' the bloody ship) instead of continuing a heated discussion on the same paranoid lines.

Nictel should not be locked up tonight; he has a repair ability and has promised to use it. Even if he's a rogue, we need him at the moment against the saboteurs. His activity can be accounted for, and it would (probably) keep him from killing anyone, to do repair.

Was that something clarified (OOC: in the rules) for everyone or something that some people are personally able to do? I had thought you were saying it was only certain people or certain ways someone could gain a "dual ability use."

A claim was made to me that it is possible (someone's personal goal); that's all I know. If anyone knows more and wants to come tell me about it (both to confirm this person is not lying as well as to learn more), please feel free.

Like the rough example you said "going to the Bridge and then shooting Backwards Logic (who could be anywhere on the ship?) on the same night" is an exception to the general sailor's capabilities right?

(This should actually be asked of Backwards Logic directly; however, I think it is correct. I am basing my understanding of the rules on several rules clarifications and confusions surrounding my planned repair of the conduit on Night One. It was established that a player could not give access to one compartment while himself working in another. However, that does not seem to apply to the use of non-location-specific abilities such as Diamondeye's, since he did do his item scan on the same night he held a door for someone.)

I wonder who Sprig gave the explosives to? Are explosives disposed of by setting them off in areas where they will cause less important damage? In which case the party was essential to ensure that nobody was in the sleeping quarters when the charge there detonated... Or, being an EOD specialist would be a pretty good cover story for a saboteur.

OOC: I wonder if someone needed access to intelligence to contact their government, or if it's just part of the story. It's probably too late for that now, but it illustrates a point -- if you require access somewhere to do a seemingly useless task, perhaps it's not useless.

Note, for anyone who has the ability to promote a repair person into a CWO position, please do so prior to the midday update. If you do so, then they are able to repair tonight. Remember, we currently have positions that are vacant.
